I love how his actual friend did the tour. One who could give a little bit more insight about how the late legend truly was
Yes. I want to thank her for letting us get to know him better as a person.
Hello how are you doing
@@donaldwilfred211 hello r u my new sugar daddy
@@hildee8802 He was lying all the time.
"Legend" aaaaahahahahahahha
I worked for two years with Karl and one day I had been waiting for the designs which hadn't appeared, the team was trying to keep busy but he arrived empty handed and late. I had to ask him so he sat down pulled out a pile of paper did about twenty sketches in minutes and handed them to me one by one. As I looked a bit longer at one he grabbed it back and added some smaller details and notes on the side and said 'voila' THAT is how that should be cut. He knew about pattern cutting and finishing, the lot. He had great humour. One night late when everyone had given their opinion on something he turned to me and said "what do YOU think" to which I replied " Karl you really don't want to know", he laughed and said well shut up then, honestly it was so funny. The fittings were always full of people and several famous models and sometimes a dog or two, his accountant, the head of Elizabeth Arden, the director of Vogue. One night when trying to get through the mob I said all we need is your concierge! He could still concentrate on fittings despite this crowd and turn out twenty dresses in one night, all fitted. We left sometimes at 2am, luckily I lived across the river and could walk, going over in my head all I had noted, it was an incredible time.
Thanks for sharing your memories. It was an enjoyable read.
You should write a book......what a lovely memory.
Hello how are you
Thanks for sharing!
That little snippet in time was so incredible to behold. Thank you for that. 🥰
The way she described everything with such enthusiasm and joy is fabulous. Karl's creativity is clearly visible in every room and piece he owned.
She has an enthusiasm about every aspect of the place as if it were her own.
@@oltedders exactly 😊
well it’s like telling someone what a person your best friend was. If you love him, you will be able to tell stories like that.
Thank you:)

When someone asks, "how do we accurately and thoughtfully celebrate a person?", show them this video. That aside, can we just talk how fabulous she is and how she works the dress?!?!?! She is a mood!
Agree! I wish Chanel had made her their head designer. She would have taken the house to new heights.
@@danbowman9294 But she's not a designer.
@@SarahLynn__ She's more of a "designer" than Virginie Viard ever was.
She’s absolutely stunning
The fact that this lovely bubbly intelligent and well spoken lady was his friend really changes my ideas on what Karl Lagerfeld was actually like.
That's Amanda Harlech, way before Karl she used to consult John Galliano before Dior, she was to John a bit like what Isabella Blow was to Alexander McQueen
Edit: John commissioned Amanda like Alexander commissioned Isabella
She worked a lot with John Galliano before his days at Dior…then he didn’t take her to Dior and Karl helped her with a good job that paid well, otherwise she would be unemployed. Karl was very good to her
He's actually a very relaxed person. Photos of him make him look distant and difficult to read. Even I was shocked when I saw that he's the opposite of what I've thought of him
@@susanaduarteraposo « Stutenbiss « we call such comment
@@fritzschmidt7396 what's wrong with my comment in your opinion Herr Schmidt? I wrote what really happened according to the biography of Galliano.
Why do you need to comment on that?
In my land we call your comment "idiota"
His friend gave us a wonderful tour. I love her stories and her attitude. What a wonderful house! He had impeccable taste.
czcams.com/video/uBDfdiNwqQg/video.html
She bored me
This was one their best tour of a house.
Except in the way he dressed. That was pathetic.
@@muffincandle1413 You bore me.
Lady Amanda was the perfect person to showcase Karl's house. I've seen soo many videos and she's always close, lurking, inspiring, and being this friendly. She is a great reflection of the Karl very few got to see, with sense of humour, classy and always knowledgeable.
This house should become his museum! We would visit it as place of eternal inspiration ♾🔝👑
Vogue, tell us something about Karl's friend. Such a presence! She reminds me of Mary Poppins in a good temper...
it's amanda harlech.
@@haret0n Thanks. I'll Google her😊
Yes, I thought she looked like Mary Poppins too . But so sweet !
She is rather well known.
She describe every detail with all her love...for us to UNDERSTAND his love for art and fashion...
I love her childish spirit
The royal blue upholstered Bruno Paul couch is sooo beautiful. This lady knows Karls, love how she describe all the rooms.
Love love how she celebrates every memory of him with utter excitment and a grin!
Can we just admire the dress your wearing? KL was a brilliant media and design interpreter. I have his limited edition Karl-box, collab with Faber-Castel. Every color of the rainbow in it, including pure graphite pencils and other special art tools. The colored pencils are organized in colors for 5 drawers. Red/orange; yellow, blue, green and shades of grey. Everytime I take the dust cover off of the black lacquered box he designed for the collection, I think of the rare person who created so many breathtaking designs.
Thought his house would be incredibly posh, but it’s eclectic, beautiful, reminiscent, and inspired. She’s right, it seems to be a reflection of his true self.
In another note, she’s such a sweetheart and super fun! Luved this!
Real 'posh' is understated and subtle
Lagerfeld sold all his antique furniture when his best friend/ partner died.
So generous of her to share one of Karl’s homes with us. People use the word legend too casually today (as they also abuse the word couture) but Karl Lagerfeld was a legend and a truly modern Renaissance man. I worked for Shu Uemura USA (the makeup Karl used to draw with). We were honored that Karl recognized us. It was like being kissed by a king. (Harlech mispronounced it like most people do-so I will correct it to honor my old friend and mentor Shu Uemura.) Correct: Shoo Ooehmoorah. 5 syllables. Japanese (and another legend like Karl)
loved how she showed us in such a respectful and endearing fashion her late friend's house
you could see her love through her eyes
She's such a beautiful soul. Amazing house. Wish I'd knew Karl personally, he seems incredible.
What a warm lovely friend she is/was to Karl. You can feel her love for him as she moves through the house. The Steinway story is WOW ❤ thanks Vogue
The Gaveau piano needs tuning but probably has a lovely action.
I can understand why she was his dearest friend. She is so lovely and full of life. Yeah this lady change the perception that I had of him … it means that he was actually a very happy and humble human at the end, even if I had never a pic of him smiling. Good job Vogue ! 😎
Amanda is such a mood, she doesn't credit herself enough, I mean, she was Karl's and John Galliano muse, influenced Fendi, Chanel and Karl's own brand, also countless other creatives, she's as part of these brands as he was, I'm curious to know if she's still at Chanel and Fendi
czcams.com/video/uBDfdiNwqQg/video.html
I didn't know who she was, nevertheless a muse to two of the most iconic designers and different fashion houses. She seems fairly "down to earth" and open and friendly and slightly goofy in a fun way.
she’s still with Virginie at Chanel, you can spot her in some of loic prigent videos
@@jonnyfendi2003 that is not true. Amanda went to Oxford, she met John after his graduation show she was a journalist at the time.
According to Andre' Leon Talley. Chanel.
She clearly loved him. And we love you Amanda. You are a breath of fresh air and just gorgeous
What a lovely look inside with someone who loved him well.

Hello how are you doing
What a glorious house. Books to die for. The blue velvet lounge suite was my favourite thing. He was certainly a rare soul.
His friend is lovely. I love the quiet surrounds of where the house is. Sad the house will be all pulled apart now. Pity it isnt a place where ppl could go and admire his style and see his interesting collection.
What a perfect outfit to mirror Karl's extraordinary house of bold and beautiful artifacts.
Such an authentic, joyful experience to showcase his pride and joy.
Kind regards.
We couldn't ask for a better person to make this house tour! Perfect lady, beautiful house!
His affection for his friends had me tear up. I never knew he had so many different passions and directions in life. Wow what a artistic genius and loyal friend. Big heart ❤
Lady Amanda was a wonderful host for this video. She has the most infectious smile I’ve ever seen!! 🥰
I used to be a certified Shu Uemura MUA… And we knew about Mr Karl L using Shu PES for his artworks. We even had a collaboration with him for our Xmas collections. Just sharing. It gave me goosebumps and brought back so much memories ❤
What a delightful lady! Ein herzliches Dankeschön für diesen einmaligen Rundgang 🖤 und danke an Karl 🙏
czcams.com/video/uBDfdiNwqQg/video.html
I love Lady Amanda. She was always a good sport doing cameos in Karl's films. He would be very happy to know what a good friend he had.
She is old but young, it's a vibe. Such a fierce and sparkling soul.
Weird that I love seeing what's inside other people's houses.
Same
+ 1 ;-)
Indeed…vicarious living or inspiration seeker….not sure.
Me too
Thank you for the wonderful “walk thro” Karl Lagerfeld’s house - his house is an extension of his amazing fashion - you could feel his presence in every room. Beautifully described by the elegant Lady Amanda Harlech - no doubt in a creation by Karl - she looked stunning and so natural and friendly 😊
Hello how are you doing
Karl Lagerfeld was the force behind Chanel for all the years he was at the helm.
The last year or two of his collections I feel were the pinnacle of his career. There was no descent in the level of his creativity or the beauty he fostered.
i loved the 18th century painting of dinner in that particular room. the room is gorgeous. beautiful
What a Genius the man was, and what a legacy he created! I dearly miss his Chanel Couture shows. I think the Lady herself might've approved!
I miss them, too! The world is a far duller place without KL.
How lovely to see Karl's world. What a joyful friend he was lucky to have.
Great job Lady Harlech. 👏
Great clothes, great house, great presentations. He's lucky to have such genuine friendship with the presenter👌 Her articulations suit precise outlook of the iconic individual
A delightful tour! Thank you Miss Harlech! Many years ago now I saw a human interest story/interview about/with Karl Largerfeld. The lady who told about an interviewed the designer talked about the remarkable number of things Mr. Largerfeld did: designing, photogrpahy and I don't remember what-all but it was a lot. The journalist asked almost if not in awe how Mr. Lagerfeld got so much accomplished. He replied, "Busy people always have time".
Amanda Harlech thank you so much, you the muse, the stylist, the heart behind the most powerful names in fashion.
Amanda Harlech is just the best guide. Crazy enthusiasm and intimate knowledge. Splendid!
She really is his friend !! You can feel the love.
“He lived in a paper world.” Lovely.
Karl was lucky to have such devoted loving friend. His public surface was like an ice pick. Amanda brings out the warm human side of Karl.
AH whole mood is getting out of bed, crooked bun, smeared mascara and jumping straight into a Chanel couture dress is a scene we need in a movie asap!
Hello how are you doing
Karl really was a classy, fresh and inspiring! A lovely house and an even better friend
i think that house should become a museum
Love how he layed out the books, especially the front on ones like they were on display. If I ever get a house I am so doing that!
The picture in the room got me it was so sweet and his desire for becoming a man to buy it is amazing
This was a lovely tribute to a wonderful friend. This moments showed him through her heartfelt memories. WE Miss You, KARL!!! Oh, So Much!!!
Wow, I did not know he was such a book collector. I had a dream of him once, not long after his passing, he was sitting in a room filled with books, similar to the one shown in this video. RIP KL
what a fabulous insight into the life of Karl Lagerfeld, and what immaculate taste the gentlemen had, this lady is absolutely FABULOUS!! such a joy in todays dumbed down world to listen to somebody so beautifully spoken and eloquent!! great CLASS!
That outfit is everything ❤️
Amanda is such a treasure herself…a fashion icon and the perfect person to give this tour.
There should be a library or museum of all fashion designers, color and creed!!! Amazing group!!!
There will never be a Chanel like the one that was under Karl Lagerfeld. He was incredible
she is so passionate, bubbly and lovely! I love it and itmakes me think about Karl much better than I did before.
Very interesting. As a moderator my self (museums) I love the performance of Karl's friend and muse, her way of friendship and her stunning dress (by Karl, I guess).
It is comforting to think you have a true friend that will still love you even after you are gone!
Oh my God I absolutely adore her she is the cutest thing ever and I can totally see why Carl loved her so much ❣️
Just watching the Sotheby's auction of his treasures and decided to check out this tour. What an interesting and talented man he was!
What a stunning visit .She is so joyfull and brilliant .Totally amazing !I looove the library !love everything actually …
Ah, Karl was a classicist. That is lovely. I wonder if his mother’s casually cruel comment about his hands is why he wore the gloves.
His mother was somewhat challenge considering she held him at high regards loves her son but strict to a reason but ugly hands comment was trashy and odahoeant
@@ownSystem What is the meaning of your last word?
Excellent assumption. Makes sense to me.
Grieving is such a misterios feeling
Hello how are you
I’ve always loved and admired Karl.
What a clever and gifted man he was. A great man indeed.
I am pleased to discover his house. It is gorgeous.
They should turn this Meisterwerk into a Meistermuseum.
Hello how are you
What a lovely friend you could tell she really liked him and shared his likes
To me, when a beloved soul departs this world, we cling onto the physical remnants of their life, because their hopes and dreams live in them. Thank you for allowing us to peer into such a magical wonderland , how deeply personal and touching.
She needs to write a book or maybe a few, theres more than one in her, she's wonderful :) 😍
Such a gorgeous space, beautiful presented by his friend. I love the story about the piano.
Karl Lagerfeld had a great sense of humour. His workspace is full of sketches that paid homage to classic films with him as protagonist (Breakfast at Karl's, King Karl, Karl Bill ...) and that Karl Ken-doll is a hoot!
The love & joy she has for her friend is incredibly endearing. ❤
This was beautiful and light and thank you!
Interesting how the interiors are so carefully designed and the outside is overgrown, like Sleeping Beauty's castle. Great video.
Oh my gosh. I completely adored this! Karl will always be my favourite, and I love to see his marvelous house just like he created, and presented by his friend, wearing his couture, in his colors.
She writes the single Karl Biography, I like.
We all miss Mr. Lagerfeld. He will forever be remembered.
Everything you see on that video has been sold on Sotheby’s auction last weekend. I do recognize the velvet blue sofa and chairs…. The Gaveau piano….. the chandeliers….everything.
So sad it has been dismantled like that.
They even sold his jackets and gloves….. ridiculous.
This is depressing. I'm glad we a lt least have this video to preserve the memory of his house
😞
💔
hei such a wonderful tour! uplifting, simple and beautiful, love it!
🌹 Thank you lovely and beautiful Lady Amanda for telling us so many sweet little private things about your wonderful friend Karl.
We lost such an amazing human being with him and he is dearly, sadly missed not only by his close friends. ❤️🌹
Hello Lilly
Karl Lagerfeld, an icon!
In school we do an altar for diá de los muertos, I’m doing mine for him 🥰
… it’s gorgeous inside, but the yard looks like it could use LOTS of love.
He didn’t seem like such a yard guy.
Yeah, the house is really special. I thought I wouldn’t like it AT ALL, just cause his vibe is so ‘remote’? But love love love his taste and style. But GOLLY, a garden could be the icing on that FABULOUS cake!!!!
i thought that too. then read the post that this post occurred prior to a Sotheby's sale. the house was probably going up for sale or left to family.
I actually like the 'neglected nature has taken over as time passes by' aesthetic of the garden. I think it might be purposeful.
Same thought
A very special tour. Love this! ❤️
Beyond wonderful!! Thank you so much Lady Amanda! Spectacular splendor!
Harlech looks like an amazing person. She stars in a lot of Lagerfeld's films as well, like 'The Tale of a Fairy' here on CZcams! It was made for Chanel in 2011.
What a great friend she is♥️
I really enjoyed your tour of Mr. Lagerfeld's villa. I enjoyed learning about Mr. Lagerfeld's collections; his piano, which is stunning, his oil painting, his collection of books, and his room where he would sketch. Beautiful!
Loved every minute of it! Thank you!
The house is just so perfect 😍
Can we take a moment to aprreciate what a enthusiastic, well spoken, insightful and GREAT friend A Harlech was/is to K Lagerfeld !?!?
So much joy, love, and admiration for her friend. He was very loved. ❤️
This is absolutely fabulous. Lady Amanda Harlech is wonderful. Definitely one of my favorites 💖
karl took on a house (chanel) when it was on its way to extinction. His colleagues told him dont take that job. And he basically revamped the brand and made it THE barometer of youthful elegant fresh luxury.
Oh, how I looooooove these stories about Karl.
She was so warm and lovely . Very obviously loved him dearly.
She seems so happy. You can tell she’s really glad to have had him in her life. ❤️
This lady was a treat. What a special tour!
