I'll never understand why some parents act like the reason why their children go down bad paths is simply because of outside influence, when most of the time it all starts because of something going on at home.

She is 25 and going to get a master's degree. Why does John keep calling her little girl like she is 12? I get the mother sees her as a little girl but she is an adult.

I think the dad’s response is key. The fact that he doesn’t care that she’s doing this right now I’m sure is a huge factor as to why she’s still doing it.

I have a relative who was stripping. Good head on her shoulder and tom boy growing up, shr just liked being naked and found it a easy way to make money. never was a drug addict, is now married in early 30s with 3 kids, all same dad. cause you choose to do something others dont agree with doesnt mean you have issue or a bad person

If I made $1000 per night, I wouldn't "come home" either.

I disagree with Dr John’s recommendation . You cannot make grown people do what they don’t want to do. There’s a reason why the daughter didn’t ask for help ….

In the defense of her parents, some parents do the right thing and children can still turn out this way. The influence of the world is strong.

John you gave about the best advice possible on this one. The rest of the commenters want to diagnose everything, but what she needs is just mom to show her she’s worth more than those dirty folded $1’s (levity). Go get her momma.

This video made me tear up man because most sex workers don't have a mom who care this much. His advice is spot on because her daughter needs to be reminded that she has support and someone who loves her to death. That is 100% the message to focus on right now. I hope it works out and regardless of happens, her daughter is fortunate enough to have a mom who calls a show like this asking for advice on how to move forward. Being loved like this is rare. I never had that and never will. I hope it works out for them. I hope time heals their wounds.

I’m letting my kids stay until they are ready, done school, in their careers, or get married. Im not just going to let your child struggle and get so desperate that they become sex workers. Hell no I’ll send you the money not to do that if I have to.

Excellent advice. Never stop fighting for your child, ever.

He shouldn't encourage people to view their 25-year-old daughters as their baby girls. That is plain insulting and helps nobody.

Daughter's working on her education and struggling to make it. It sounds like life at home isn't worth coming back to and she prefers to strip. Dad's answer was 'it is what it is' instead of "hey why dont we come together and make up the difference to help her out for a few months so she can get a better job and get back on her feet"
