Aang isn't actually flying. He's lifting himself or controlling his fall with gusts and buffets of wind.

Oooh I am looking forward to watching your reaction to the rest of the show ! You're the first reactor I watch who seems to be a long-time fan of ATLA, with a thorough knowledge of the original material (you said The Storm was s1e11, it's 12 so super close) and of its timeline, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you've picked up through this show. I.e. in the next ep where we meet the Kyoshi warriors, I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of their treatment and of Suki !

I’ve finished the whole series. Can’t say I thought the show was better than One Piece. However, it was still good. And I mean goooood. Didn’t love some of the alterations personally. Others were actual improvements. Felt the creative team overall did a fine job including the important plot points.
Acting wasn’t the best in my opinion. Not bad, but room for improvement. Except for the Fire Nation. Nothing was even slightly off for any of them. Special effects were great for a TV show. The costuming as you saw was phenomenal. Really looking forward to season two.

One Piece LA definitely did better with the character relationships/chemistry, but Avatar LA did better visually as well as with the fight choreographies.
I've seen all of Avatar LA, as well. Had to watch/record my reactions within days to avoid spoilers. I enjoyed it throughout, but I also had issues with some of the more important changes they made, which I'll point out as I release these videos.
This was ultimately flawed, but most of it can be improved in future seasons. There's A LOT to love here. There was real effort and care put into this version, which can't be said about Shyamalan's adaptation.

@@liprekt In 2015 I was doing a bit better than in previous years (I'm a poor guy from India ) I got a cheap notebook and some cheap rip-off DVDs to watch movies a particular weekend. I watched Mad Max Fury Road and I remember somewhere in the middle of the movie I felt in my head that I was watching the best thing that I had ever seen, I just felt this moment that the screen was giving me the greatest feeling ever. I then went down a CZcams reviewer rabbit hole and since then every movie or TV series I have seen judged by that "feeling" I had to watch Mad Max. I never watched The Last Airbender cartoons but there were times in this show and every episode where I had that "feeling" This feeling has not been there for me for the last 3-4 years in anything Disney or Netflix has ( I have started watching anime now rather than anything from the west )
that said I think this was an amazing thing I watched, almost close to a good Anime series. All anime are quite cheesy with the characters being a bit over the top to the cheesy elements here were entertaining. The second last episode was a bit of a disappointment but it kinda came together in the end. If there is a second season I hope they do a better job. I started to watch the original cartoon now and hope to watch Legend of Kora as well.
Hope you release more reactions soon.

unfortunately the effects is the only thing in this show that are better than in One Piece LA. Every other category Avater is mid at best. it’s surely better than that movie but then what isn’t

I quite enjoyed the fight choreographies in this! I wanted more of that in One Piece LA, but then the anime fans made it clear to me that OP was never about the action but the relationships. On that note, OP live action handled the character relationships better than ATLA live action.
I also appreciated finally seeing some things in live action, like a sampling of the Avatar State and also the climax in the finale.
Imperfect adaptation, which I will point out in these videos, but a lot to love!
