Just done teh same to my 2012 LR 110 Defender using your video as a guide. My drawer unit and wing was supplied by Direct 4x4. Very easy to fit.
I Say Old Chap! Splendid transmission and timely also thanks!! Want to do My 110 and thinking about it. Top job Old Chap! ✌️🇬🇧♨️
Love the video, how ever you need to do a major off roading adventure with scout!!!
100% agree! More offroad adventures coming soon
Nice work here and well fitted. Great
Thanks! They guys at Audiofile-I car smashed it
Really enjoyed this, less nervous about doing mine now, great content..thanks for all your advice too 👍
Thanks Michael! It's a long job, but I'm doing my defender in stages to make it a little easier!
super bro ❤😎
Defender Love SRI LANKA ❤❤🔥
Looking very nice that- I desperately need to fit out the rear of mine!
Thanks mate! Been putting the job off for a while but has made a big difference to the road noise!
Makes a massive difference doesn't it! 👍
Definitely! Slowing making my way around the whole Defender and feel a difference every time I do more.
Nice video did the same few weeks ago. Get a video up of you doing the doors so I can see how to remove door card with out smashing them to bits.
Haha! Yes, I'm moving on to soundproofing doors and roof next! Plastic trim removal tools will make it 100 times easier
@@ScoutTheDefender I found Cork screw and bottle of wine helped me lol 😆
Very helpful videos, would you be able to recommend a supplier of carpet as I intend to soundproof my td5 and need a little carpet to cover the foam etc.? Many thanks.
Hi thx for the detailed video, well done👍. Did you apply sound deadening mats to the vertical panel below the rear windows? It’s not clear if you did or did not.
Hi, have you done the front seats yet. Did you uses the same setup as the back.
Hi, what product did you use for the insulation, the 3 mm and the 6 mm?
Thank you
Can you provide the website of the brand you used for the sound deadening material. It seems like a great and easy to use product. Thanks.
Am about to do the sound proof on my D90 station wagon. This video is super helpful.
QQ what size and where did you get new stainless steel bolts from for the fold and lock rear seats?
Thanks
Jim
Great vid.
Couple of questions:
How many hours did it take all up?
How much sound deadening (total thickness) could you fit under the carpets without putting them too much out of shape?
What is the overall difference?
Thanks for the comment!
Overall it took around a day, that’s with removing the seats and then refitting everything. I used 1 layer of 3mm deadening and 1 layer of 6mm foam, this allows the carpets to go back really easy. Overall, it’s definitely made a difference and It has encouraged me to do the rest!
Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one 👍
Do you have an idea of the weight this will be adding?
The 3mm Skinz deadening mats do add a little weight, especially if you do the whole car. For me though, the trade off is worth it. I've lost the weight of the rear seats which were extremely heavy!
How did the legs of the rear seats seperate from the seat? Which side was the cloth strap removed from?
I removed the strap from seat legs, the strap remains attached to the seat itself.
@@ScoutTheDefender cheers somebody has cut mine close to the seat 🥲
where did you buy the insulating foam and sound deadening?
I bought it all online from CEN automotive - the offer a next day delivery and service was great!
Can you advise where you purchased the materials from please?
I purchased all my materials from CEN Automotive - They offer a great service, quick and reliable.
Excellent, just what I needed to do ours in the coming weeks. All being filmed too so hop over to my channel to join me create an easy overlander out of a nice stock Defender 110 with my gorgeous wife 😍🔥
