  • Land Rover Defenders can be noisy buggers, so we've fitted their Defeater barrier mat into our project 110. Spoiler alert, it's amazing and not only looks great but really does reduce cabin noise. But it's not an easy fit so here are some great tips on how to fit it yourself.

Thanks for this, I've been hoping you'd do this matting system! It looks fantastic by the way and super durable. Looking forward to the next video

Always liked these matting systems, I had one on the list for my Series III but never got that far down the list before I had to sell it. For an old Series motor, reducing heat transfer from the transmission tunnel would've been another bonus.

Definitely a good thing to do on defenders, reduce the exterior sound. I've got a bunch of sound deadening material to install in the near future. Also keen to see how you routed the wires through the door/inside the cab for the heated mirrors.

I do love the quality of the Exmoor Trim kit….however I simply could not justify the £527.48 (inc VAT) + shipping. A much cheaper alternative (for those on a tight budget) is get yourself a 6ft x 4ft rubber stable mat (10mm or 11mm thick) and a tube of stable sealant and you can make yourself something very similar. Ok it will never look quite as neat but with careful application and some edge trim etc it is possible to create a very nice job for around £50. You can do the same seat box lid cuts and drill neat holes with hole saw. Some genuine or Exmoor Trim floor mats finish it off. Brilliant for a tenth of the price of the Exmoor Trim one. Love the videos though and the way you explain things. Top job.

Put the front seat riser bolts through the bottom of the box section. No need for longer bolts and you will not crush the box over time.

    Well…
First of all sir, good morning nicely done 👍
The previous owner of my TD5 did it before me and lucky me… he did do a near perfect job as well…
    BUT …
Anybody who does the job please realize to check UNDER the mats for water otherwise you will be wandering why everything is so damp and clammy in your car and why mold is growing out of the floor 😝👍😂

Just ordered one from Exmoor Trim direct, over a week now and no shipping info so far, really getting impatient as I want to fit it as soon as possible. Thanks for the tips mate.

Does the original footwell still fits? Maybe you just can put them over

I've got this bulge in the mat on the side of the seatbox that hits the door due to folding it during shipping. I hoped it would straighten itself out over time (with gravity)m but it's not happening. Any tips?

maybe a little/gentle bit of heat from a heat gun for persuasion?

Send it back and tell them to send you one that isn’t damaged in shipping.

@@AdamRosenberg90 and go through the land of Mordor again (aka customs)? I'll give the heat gun a go :)

We'll be reporting on it's performance in an upcoming video. But initial thoughts are very positive.

Have you ever thought about moving the battery, installing it in the front like other vehicles. The maintenance colud be better than under the seat.

    • @martinplewes
      @martinplewes Před 9 měsíci +3

Not enough room under the bonnet and rarely have to access the battery.

thanks for the vi, product looks awful utter junk, will stick with Noise Killer and Vantatastic, to kill noise and road resonance just a few 4" high density pads will change the feel, than the standard kit works fine
