  • This week we are heading out on a wonderful hiking adventure inside Death Valley National Park to explore an otherworldly slot canyon often overlooked by park visitors...join me inside Mosaic Canyon.
Nestled in the heart of the Death Valley desert landscape and located just west of the Stovepipe Wells Village, Mosaic Canyon Trail is a four mile out and back hike filled with towering slot canyon walls and incredible mosaic breccia patterns that serve as this canyon's namesake feature.
From rock hopping and scrambling up boulder jams to traversing smooth, polished narrows this Death Valley trail is sure to please every adventurer, making it one of the TOP THINGS TO DO in Death Valley. Because the trailhead is located at the end of a two-mile unpaved road, this is one of the more quiet and lesser visited Death Valley hiking trails.
Make sure to bring plenty of water and always check weather before you head out as this area is prone to flash flooding and it can get dangerously hot in the Summer months.
For more details on this top spot in Death Valley, see my complete Mosaic Canyon blog post at:

Thanks for the great overview and practical information! I am visiting DV in May and look forward to a morning hike here, before the heat becomes too much. You are a big help with my itinerary!
