Death Valley National Park - Land of Extremes

  • Death Valley is a land of extremes where records are constantly shattered in this hottest, driest, and lowest of all the national parks. As the largest park in the lower 48, Death Valley proudly boasts of being the driest spot in North America, with certain areas receiving less than two inches of rainfall a year. Scorching temperatures reaching 134 degrees Fahrenheit, make it the hottest spot in the entire United States and as we descend further into the valley, we find ourselves 282 feet below sea level at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the country.
We’ll be exploring the Funeral Mountains and despite all the morbid names, Death Valley is bursting with life (tarantulas love it here, as we reluctantly discover) and incredible landscapes, where salt flats extend as far as the eye can see, rugged mountains dramatically rise out of the desert and vast canyons carve their way through the land. On our first ever expedition into Death Valley, we want to see it all and push ourselves to the limit in the sweltering heat as we search for water in one of the driest spots on earth. Will California’s roughest challenges prove too much for us? Join us if you dare.

What a beautiful and terrifying place, I have never seen a programme like this, it definitely shows that you guys know what you are doing 🥵 I saw a brief historical representation in Little house on the prairie where there was a catastrophic recession and they joined the California gold rush only to find it a dead end. I can't imagine living in such a harsh environment. An amazing land of extremes indeed!⭐👍

Too bad Titus canyon is mostly closed at this time due to washed out portions from Hurricane Hillary 😢. When was this filmed? It is a beautiful off road trail. You guys are driving through it like a race car driver lol..

We have! In fact we backpacked out into the backcountry for an overnighter. It was a blast!

Great video but why would you go into that terrain without proper head covering including no hat?

Guys, it seems you didn't bring a USGS topo map and hiked at a dangerously hot time. What's up with that?

We were a lot younger at the time and definitely made some mistakes

good points. but I think they do this for dramatic effect. like a Natl Geographic / Discovery channel type of show. There was likely water on hand behind the scenes
