I purchased my Elite last night… Excited to receive and start cutting. Although I do not use a cnc as often as I would like, I am going to start incorporating into more projects. With the new capabilities, this machine is insane. I absolutely am amazed with how OF has progressed. Awesome

You definitely don’t need the water cooled spindle, the air cooled is probably plenty. And yeah! The stuff adds up quick. All people see is ohhh the machine is $3000 weeelllll you need a lot of other stuff too lol thanks for watching I appreciate it

Oh, and I do appreciate the 5% discount if I do indeed go with the PWC Kit. Hey! The spindle is great, they’re is cheaper brands that come in kits for half the price but the PWN spindles are plug and play. The cheaper ones require programming and soldering of the cords. An air cooled spindle is a huge upgrade from the regular router.

@@eldonhinck1487 i personally would probably skip the wheels. I don’t know, but my journeyman has the wheels and definitely has more shake than the non wheels and the foreman is pretty hefty!

Rule of thumb (when cutting metal, at least), any tool projection more than 4 times the tool's diameter begins a journey into chatter land. It can certainly happen in shorter conditions and most definitely in conditions beyond that rule. It would appear that you're around the 6X mark in projection. Not saying other play in the machine isn't present, but the tool projection will certainly promote it. If I'm preaching to the choir, my apologies. Great video!
Jeff, I can't thank you enough for this video as well as all the other videos. I am ordering my Onefinity today with same spindle and you videos have finally put an end to my seemingly endless frustrating research into what to buy. The table info is much appreciated and it looks like the Kreg might be more amenable to designing an enclosure as well. My shop is in a large walkout basement so I would like to max my noise control to reduce noise complaints from the wife. But, Dude, get rid of that dust collector (or more appropriate...non-collector) you have on that other OneFinity. My day job is a pathologist who does a lot of head and neck work. And after seeing a few patients who were woodworkers or wood floor refinishers end up with cancer in the nasal cavity or sinuses that was most definitely due to dust, I can tell you this is not an area to look to save money. And there is the even higher potential for chronic lung damage. HEPA or as close to it as possible. Raise your prices a bit or whatever you need to do to at least buy bags for festool vac. That would pull plenty with that 2.5" hose as long as the dust boot is on. Air filtration for the space is good to. There are lots of plans/ideas for DIY units. I have plans for a good sized one that rolls and just uses a 8 inch inline fan you can buy on Amazon. Let me know if you want the plans. I was actually going to wait for my CNC to make it because it requires 6 or 7 round plywood discs of same size. Or put the CNC's closer together and put them on the Rockler with some blast gates, preferably the larger one though if you are running both at the same time. Dust collector CFM stats are not as grossly overexaggerated as HP ratings but they are certainly overblown. And that Rockler attached to that 2.5" hose might not be that much different than a good shop vac with a clean filter and bag. You two are young so stay healthy.

@@TwoMooseDesign I got the 3D printing bug years ago and went at it heavy for a long time. But I lost interest and haven't printed in years. I'm 60 and disabled. My condition is progressive so mobility is getting harder and harder. I can set up my shop centered around a CNC and it will be great for me. I brought up the purchase with my wife last night and tp my surprise, the roof is still completely intact! LOL She seems pretty receptive. I've been a licensed residential builder for 30 years but can't work the trades anymore. I've worked part-time in a theater for over eight years and it's getting old. I don't expect this to provide me a living, but I'm gonna use it for a little more than a hobby and bring in a couple extra bucks. She understands that this will be good physical and emotional therapy for me. I'll let you know when I pull the trigger. :)

Great video. Quick note on antifreeze, find yourself some "multi-vehicle" antifreeze. Standard antifreeze doesn't work with aluminum. Multi-vehicle has inhibitors to not cross contaminate mixed metals. Use it with deionized water or at least distilled water, never tap. Antifreeze should keep the water in good shape for months, likely much longer. Antifreeze is actually a poor heat conductor if used without water. You should be fine running anywhere from 50/50 to just 25% antifreeze. Never go wrong mixing to the instructions on the bottle. Thanks for showing the machine in action.
Some alt options, use RV antifreeze instead of regular vehicle antifreeze (doesn't contain corrosives). Run distilled water through a CW-5200 chiller (in winter I use an aquarium heater in the cooler to ensure the temp doesn't drop to freezing as my garage gets very cold).
@@cyberhikerdd cw3000 without active refrigeration is better. Refrigerated models can cause condensation in and around the spindle. Bonus way cheaper to buy without chiller in it. Cw3000 just does ambient cooling.
Hi Guys, this video is responsible for piquing my interest in the Onefinity. I have been eyeballing Shopbot for years but this is so much more affordable and since I am a noob it makes a lot of sense. Watching you put the spoil boards in made me wonder why you don't run a 1/16 in deep groove at the extreme limits of the cnc (full square box) on the main board below the spoil board, vs marking the bit location with a pen? Love the channel!
The water cooled is much quieter than the air cooled and better for running large projects. It also makes dust collection easier as the air cooled is trying to blow the chips out and away from the head, and leaves much more mess behind.
Thanks for sharing. My two cents on DC, a cyclonic separator is a great add on to dust collection and running the 4 inch hose all the way to the spindle would better the dust collection.
@@TwoMooseDesign What kind of issues did you have with the dust boot? I had heard that the Z-20 slider might have some compatability issues with a lot of the dust boots out there.
I still don't have a CNC yet but I do have a kreg bench. I put a center divider in the bottom Shelf because I have access from both sides and I made slide out shelves. This made the unit very very stiff.

Bought and downloaded the waste board file, thank you. I have a problem with getting it to load on the Masso. I am using Carveco software and have saved it to 2 different thumb drives but when I plug it in the Masso doesn't find it on the drive. What am I doing wrong?!? This is driving me crazy!!!

I ordered the QCW spoil board rails for the Elite Foreman but after watching your video, I'm leaning towards putting down my own T-tracks and boards. Do you think I should save myself $500 and build my own? Any feedback would be much appreciated. I ordered my whole setup in May so I'm not expecting it till about October. Just starting an interest in getting my first cnc. Not having much experience in computers and none in cnc’s, I have to say this might not have been the best one for me to watch, at this point anyway. Way over my head and all the lingo and acronyms were somewhat intimidating haha. Made me wonder if I could even get into this. Not sure if a “Not For Beginners” clause in the video title might be good lol
CNCs are not just pushing a button. Expect at least a 6 month learning curve especially if you’re not good with computers, you’ll have to learn the software and the machine. It just takes practice like anything.
@@TwoMooseDesign I can't play very well but I love them. Was my first job out of highschool building them back in early 2010s and I've just been wanting to do it again. If I didn't have to move across the country I would have taken up some offers I got awhile back to work at some companies that have gotten pretty big lol. If you do make one they are really fun to make.

Just curious does One Infinity allow you to tram out the Spindle? Another words ensuring the spindle is flat to the sacrificial board. You would notice that when you flatten a board you have no waviness of the endmill that shaved the top of the board.

One question. I ordered basically the same unit and Kreg table. It will be here tomorrow. I had planned on it being stationary. But I've purchased five of the Kreg tables for the shop. I love the casters for them! Is your CNC on casters? If so, are there any issues doing it that way? Thanks!
With your PWN spindle installed, what is the maximum depth of cut you could achieve? I am wondering what the height of the 1/2" collet to the bottom Z limit is....I am finding discrepancies in the One finity documentation materials and their website. I am contemplating buying one to see if I can work on a specialized project at home, but it would involve a pocket cut at 6-1/8" deep with a 1/2" bit... I plan to mount my material directly under the machine with a u-shaped support table, so no spoil board...
I am trying to buy the aircooled, but there are so many options which one do you recommend? after this amount of time has passed do you still feel the same about the spindle you have, im looking at the aircooled
Do you consider this elite foreman to be a cnc for beginners or would you recommend a machine that’s easier to get my feet wet? I’m a fan of buying once (within reason) to avoid feeling I need to upgrade later.
What size bit were you using for the test carve? I've heard that 1/2" bits can be a bit too much for the onefinity, but i'm wondering if the new heavy duty z axis helps out at all. I'm hoping to do some deeper pockets, and i'm thinking the 1/2" bits would give me the best results for that.
Air cooled is definitely the way to go. I’ve done a couple thousand jobs so far, often running all day long and have never overheated. The air also blows the chips out of the way of the cutter in most cases. I’ve been running 2 Masso machines for a couple of years now. You’re going to love it. If you haven’t already, set up Automatic Tool Length Measurement. It makes everything so much easier when you have to change up your tools.
@@LavinWoodworks a spindle? Pwn spindles hook right upto it. It’s the same one I have but not water cooled. You can control it from the masso, I have a 5% off code in the description. You can buy cheaper versions but they are not plug and play like the pwn is.

Be sure to factor in taxes and shipping! Came out to an extra $300 for shipping and $400 for taxes. QCW and stand was $580 (so more expensive than Kreg it seems). Touch probe and dust boot was another $200.

I am patiently awaiting my Foreman to arrive, I also got the 2.2kw 220vwater cooled spindle. Seems to me the majority of cnc bits needed/ available are 1/4 to1/8. I did get a 1/2 in waist board flattening bit, I would assume an up cut and down cut end mills maybe a bowl bit, what other 1/2 bits would you suggest?
I’ve been buying more and more. If it comes in 1/2 like a bowl bit for example I’ll buy it in 1/2. 1/4 bits I’ll just get in 1/4 shanks. I use the 1/2 spiral bits for clearing I don’t cut things out with them, you can just a lot of waste
@@TwoMooseDesign my plan was to use the 1/2 bits for the first roughing pass then step down to 1/4 and or 1/8. I got the collets for all the aforementioned and 3/8.
Hey…I am here to comment on all your videos…lol. Is Sunday and just slooowly getting my day started. Anywayzzz, I noticed in another video you moved your MASSO monitor to the right side of your machine. I am right handed, so I was curious how you went about doing. I have seen some others as well. Am sure it is easy, but just curious. My machine arrives…hopefully the end of July. I opted for the Foreman QCW frame.
I dont belive you can do it with the masso unit, Its pretty easy with the orginal onefintiy but with the masso theres a lot of wires and it would be a pain to switch sides i feel lol The qcw is definitely the easiest route and so nice it bolts right on there.
I don’t think a chiller is necessary unless you’re doing super long carves or live in a hot area and don’t have climate control. Is it the best option? No lol both my machines use the cheap pump and I haven’t had issues
You have a pet so I would suggest propylene glycol as a coolant, it non toxic. That way you don’t have to worry about spills or leaks. Antifreeze will kill a pet really quick.
Awesome, I love your videos. I am a computer dummy. Im wanting to make form blocks for airplane building out of3/4 MDF or 3/4 birch plywood. How would I go about learning how to program the CNC to make these? I dont have a clue how to get started. Thanks for any advice you could give me !!
@@TwoMooseDesign LOL it may be an oblong shaped piece of plywood 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall with a square cut out in the middle to ben aluminum over it. this will make a bulkhead to the fuselage of an airplane. simple really. Or a piece of plywood cut out in the shape of an airplane wing rib.
A couple questions: What size silicone hose is it and how long? And in the comments, under Kreg table, you have 64” rails, 44” rails, and the leg kit. What are the 44” rails for? And can’t you just but that table kit from Kreger website?
The dust collection hose is 4” and 20’ long I believe? And the 44” rails would be for the journeyman. That’s just how they offer them on amazon 🤷🏼♂️ it’s the same thing you can purchase them where you feel most comfortable.
Curious…it DOESNT come with a handheld controller (like the Xbox) or it CANT be used with the handheld controller (like Xbox). I have the handheld Xbox for mine and there is no way I’d have a cnc without it…super handy when setting up workpieces!
I am looking to buy the 32"x48" Elite Journeyman, and I will probably go with a 80mm air cooled spindle. My intention is to cut speaker flat packs, for my MLTL-6 (mass loaded transmission line) speakers. I have a question about the drag chain - does it come with the machine; or where did you get it? What size/length is it? I like your bench - the storage would be a big factor for me. Thank you for covering the dust collection and the Masso - this is very helpful.
The elite models come with a drag chain. I don’t believe the non elite machines do at least not when I got my first machine. I purchased a kit on Etsy from route 101 😬 I can’t think of his shop, if you type it in it will come up. I talk about it in one of my wasteboard videos I believed, it wasn’t hard to add.

That is what I used in the past, with my PhlatPrinter III. And if you can store files in the Masso. I will need to have jigs that let me load and clamp cut panels to do repeatable production.
I'm just guessing but that looks like a 3/8 bit? Try 12000rpm at 400 imp with a .175 stepdown and 50% stepover. Your chatter seems like it's just from not getting the right chip load. I run most stuff at 600 imp up to 3/4 depth full engagement. Your machine seems solid enough to take a .017 chip load
Question, What is the "Stiffy" kinda afraid to ask lol , What software is included ? What's the actual usable work area after any clamps ? Did they get the Virus fixed yet ? Thanks
The stiffy is the extra rail on top, makes it a little more rigid. It definitely helps but not needed. There’s no software included but I do believe you get a free year of carveco with purchase. On this machine the cut area is 48”x48”. I haven’t heard of any virus 🤷🏼♂️ I haven’t had any software issues with either of my machines
as long as your bench isn't completely out of whack, when you surface the waste board it will take out the imperfections and "level" it to the spindle.
I did but just around the clip part, it’s fine for now. I just got some hose holders from rowdy Roman on Etsy. The zip ties work but kinda shotty lol I need to install them yet

I personally cant comment on the shapeoko since I haven’t used one myself but I’ve had a onefinity since it first came out and it’s treated me well, like zero issues. No belts or v wheels is great, the community is great too.

You can upgrade to the Masso. Onefinity says that the upgrade should be available in late Q2 of this year (end of June). I'm anticipating a little longer than that.

From the outside of the cut area to the rails is 2” then pretty much all you need front and back. They make plastic brad nails I see a lot of people use too for big sheet goods
Great video! Answered a lot of my questions! I have the Elite Woodworker in my cart right now. I have been on the fence on which CNC to buy and it seems that the Onefinity is a really solid machine from all the videos I have been watching. I have been comparing the Shapeoko, stepcraft, and a few others but the Onefinity seem to be more of a professional build vs the other brands. I am really on the fence on the spindle. I have looked at the PWN as well as the one sold by BulkMan (1.5kw 80mm 110v air cooled) and I am open to other suggestions. Was trying to save a few bucks here and there on the setup. I would also be interested in your bit (cheap and expensive) recommendations. Where do you source them and what seems to be your most used for inlay cutting boards? The bench is the last issue. I like the bench setup you have, ToolsToday uses a custom solution that is really nice and has lots of storage space, and I have seen a few prebuilt ones from Husky and other manufacturers that seem to fit the size and storage requirement. I will be going with the 32x32 cut model so I will be searching for something a bit smaller. If you have the onefinity that is roughly that size - I would like a recommendation for a bench. Thanks again for the video! This was great!
@@TwoMooseDesign it’s newer but mine has a cut area of 3’x3’ and it will suddenly stop moving even though the router is still spinning. Sometimes it’ll freak out and quit and you have to start all over!

I am ordering my Onefinity today with same spindle and you videos have finally put an end to my seemingly endless frustrating research into what to buy. The table info is much appreciated and it looks like the Kreg might be more amenable to designing an enclosure as well. My shop is in a large walkout basement so I would like to max my noise control to reduce noise complaints from the wife. But, Dude, get rid of that dust collector (or more appropriate...non-collector) you have on that other OneFinity. My day job is a pathologist who does a lot of head and neck work. And after seeing a few patients who were woodworkers or wood floor refinishers end up with cancer in the nasal cavity or sinuses that was most definitely due to dust, I can tell you this is not an area to look to save money. And there is the even higher potential for chronic lung damage. HEPA or as close to it as possible. Raise your prices a bit or whatever you need to do to at least buy bags for festool vac. That would pull plenty with that 2.5" hose as long as the dust boot is on. Air filtration for the space is good to. There are lots of plans/ideas for DIY units. I have plans for a good sized one that rolls and just uses a 8 inch inline fan you can buy on Amazon. Let me know if you want the plans. I was actually going to wait for my CNC to make it because it requires 6 or 7 round plywood discs of same size. Or put the CNC's closer together and put them on the Rockler with some blast gates, preferably the larger one though if you are running both at the same time. Dust collector CFM stats are not as grossly overexaggerated as HP ratings but they are certainly overblown. And that Rockler attached to that 2.5" hose might not be that much different than a good shop vac with a clean filter and bag. You two are young so stay healthy.

I got the 3D printing bug years ago and went at it heavy for a long time. But I lost interest and haven't printed in years. I'm 60 and disabled. My condition is progressive so mobility is getting harder and harder. I can set up my shop centered around a CNC and it will be great for me. I brought up the purchase with my wife last night and tp my surprise, the roof is still completely intact! LOL She seems pretty receptive. I've been a licensed residential builder for 30 years but can't work the trades anymore. I've worked part-time in a theater for over eight years and it's getting old. I don't expect this to provide me a living, but I'm gonna use it for a little more than a hobby and bring in a couple extra bucks. She understands that this will be good physical and emotional therapy for me.
I'll let you know when I pull the trigger. :)

Quick note on antifreeze, find yourself some "multi-vehicle" antifreeze. Standard antifreeze doesn't work with aluminum. Multi-vehicle has inhibitors to not cross contaminate mixed metals. Use it with deionized water or at least distilled water, never tap. Antifreeze should keep the water in good shape for months, likely much longer.
Antifreeze is actually a poor heat conductor if used without water. You should be fine running anywhere from 50/50 to just 25% antifreeze. Never go wrong mixing to the instructions on the bottle.

Some alt options, use RV antifreeze instead of regular vehicle antifreeze (doesn't contain corrosives). Run distilled water through a CW-5200 chiller (in winter I use an aquarium heater in the cooler to ensure the temp doesn't drop to freezing as my garage gets very cold).
@@cyberhikerdd cw3000 without active refrigeration is better. Refrigerated models can cause condensation in and around the spindle. Bonus way cheaper to buy without chiller in it. Cw3000 just does ambient cooling.

Hi Guys, this video is responsible for piquing my interest in the Onefinity. I have been eyeballing Shopbot for years but this is so much more affordable and since I am a noob it makes a lot of sense. Watching you put the spoil boards in made me wonder why you don't run a 1/16 in deep groove at the extreme limits of the cnc (full square box) on the main board below the spoil board, vs marking the bit location with a pen? Love the channel!

The water cooled is much quieter than the air cooled and better for running large projects. It also makes dust collection easier as the air cooled is trying to blow the chips out and away from the head, and leaves much more mess behind.
Thanks for sharing. My two cents on DC, a cyclonic separator is a great add on to dust collection and running the 4 inch hose all the way to the spindle would better the dust collection.

I still don't have a CNC yet but I do have a kreg bench. I put a center divider in the bottom Shelf because I have access from both sides and I made slide out shelves. This made the unit very very stiff.

Bought and downloaded the waste board file, thank you. I have a problem with getting it to load on the Masso. I am using Carveco software and have saved it to 2 different thumb drives but when I plug it in the Masso doesn't find it on the drive. What am I doing wrong?!? This is driving me crazy!!!

I ordered the QCW spoil board rails for the Elite Foreman but after watching your video, I'm leaning towards putting down my own T-tracks and boards. Just starting an interest in getting my first cnc. Not having much experience in computers and none in cnc’s, I have to say this might not have been the best one for me to watch, at this point anyway. Way over my head and all the lingo and acronyms were somewhat intimidating haha. Made me wonder if I could even get into this. Not sure if a “Not For Beginners” clause in the video title might be good lol
CNCs are not just pushing a button. Expect at least a 6 month learning curve especially if you’re not good with computers, you’ll have to learn the software and the machine. It just takes practice like anything.
I would like a closer look at the maso screen showing entering cutter length setting. Also, a closer look at the screens you showed in the video.
Easy to operate. Most manufacturers will teach consumers how to operate through the computer

Just curious does One Infinity allow you to tram out the Spindle? Another words ensuring the spindle is flat to the sacrificial board. You would notice that when you flatten a board you have no waviness of the endmill that shaved the top of the board.

Could u carve 2 pieces out of that piece of material. You will have to check what load and unload time is and to check for rough material loss.
With your PWN spindle installed, what is the maximum depth of cut you could achieve? I am wondering what the height of the 1/2" collet to the bottom Z limit is....I am finding discrepancies in the One finity documentation materials and their website. I am contemplating buying one to see if I can work on a specialized project at home, but it would involve a pocket cut at 6-1/8" deep with a 1/2" bit... I plan to mount my material directly under the machine with a u-shaped support table, so no spoil board...
I am trying to buy the aircooled, but there are so many options which one do you recommend? after this amount of time has passed do you still feel the same about the spindle you have, im looking at the aircooled
Do you consider this elite foreman to be a cnc for beginners or would you recommend a machine that’s easier to get my feet wet? I’m a fan of buying once (within reason) to avoid feeling I need to upgrade later.
What size bit were you using for the test carve? I've heard that 1/2" bits can be a bit too much for the onefinity, but i'm wondering if the new heavy duty z axis helps out at all. I'm hoping to do some deeper pockets, and i'm thinking the 1/2" bits would give me the best results for that.
I use half in bits all the time. I use up cuts and down cuts for clearing. Goes way faster, I don’t use ether for cutting things out.

Air cooled is definitely the way to go. I’ve done a couple thousand jobs so far, often running all day long and have never overheated. The air also blows the chips out of the way of the cutter in most cases. I’ve been running 2 Masso machines for a couple of years now. You’re going to love it. If you haven’t already, set up Automatic Tool Length Measurement. It makes everything so much easier when you have to change up your tools.
I’ll have to research what that is! And yeah I definitely should have went air cooled and skipped all the hoses 🤔

I believe there is one coming out here soon. This spindle is not, it needs to be pnumatic
Be sure to factor in taxes and shipping! Came out to an extra $300 for shipping and $400 for taxes. QCW and stand was $580 (so more expensive than Kreg it seems). Touch probe and dust boot was another $200.
I did pretty rough numbers, there’s also bits and a computer if you don’t have one. Adds up quick!

I am patiently awaiting my Foreman to arrive, I also got the 2.2kw 220vwater cooled spindle. Seems to me the majority of cnc bits needed/ available are 1/4 to1/8. I did get a 1/2 in waist board flattening bit, I would assume an up cut and down cut end mills maybe a bowl bit, what other 1/2 bits would you suggest?
I’ve been buying more and more. If it comes in 1/2 like a bowl bit for example I’ll buy it in 1/2. 1/4 bits I’ll just get in 1/4 shanks. I use the 1/2 spiral bits for clearing I don’t cut things out with them, you can just a lot of waste

Hey…I am here to comment on all your videos…lol. Is Sunday and just slooowly getting my day started. Anywayzzz, I noticed in another video you moved your MASSO monitor to the right side of your machine. I am right handed, so I was curious how you went about doing. I have seen some others as well. Am sure it is easy, but just curious. My machine arrives…hopefully the end of July. I opted for the Foreman QCW frame.
I dont belive you can do it with the masso unit, Its pretty easy with the orginal onefintiy but with the masso theres a lot of wires and it would be a pain to switch sides i feel lol The qcw is definitely the easiest route and so nice it bolts right on there.

I don’t think a chiller is necessary unless you’re doing super long carves or live in a hot area and don’t have climate control. Is it the best option? No lol both my machines use the cheap pump and I haven’t had issues

You have a pet so I would suggest propylene glycol as a coolant, it non toxic. That way you don’t have to worry about spills or leaks. Antifreeze will kill a pet really quick.
The pets don’t come in the shop often and it’s in a sealed container on the middle of the bench shelf so I’m not too worried but I’ll check it out!
Most spindles will recommend de-ionized water. I've never used coolant and the water stays clean. Does PWN recommend a coolant mixture?
I didn’t even look, that’s just what I was told to use in my other spindle 🤷🏼♂️ so that’s what I did on this one. Guess I’ll check and switch it out

@@TwoMooseDesign LOL it may be an oblong shaped piece of plywood 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall with a square cut out in the middle to ben aluminum over it. this will make a bulkhead to the fuselage of an airplane. simple really. Or a piece of plywood cut out in the shape of an airplane wing rib.

A couple questions:
What size silicone hose is it and how long?
And in the comments, under Kreg table, you have 64” rails, 44” rails, and the leg kit. What are the 44” rails for? And can’t you just but that table kit from Kreger website?
The dust collection hose is 4” and 20’ long I believe? And the 44” rails would be for the journeyman. That’s just how they offer them on amazon 🤷🏼♂️ it’s the same thing you can purchase them where you feel most comfortable.
Not the dust collection hose the water cooling hose. The Amazon link you provided has different sizes available. Is it 1/4” ID?

Curious…it DOESNT come with a handheld controller (like the Xbox) or it CANT be used with the handheld controller (like Xbox).
I have the handheld Xbox for mine and there is no way I’d have a cnc without it…super handy when setting up workpieces!

I am looking to buy the 32"x48" Elite Journeyman, and I will probably go with a 80mm air cooled spindle. My intention is to cut speaker flat packs, for my MLTL-6 (mass loaded transmission line) speakers.
I have a question about the drag chain - does it come with the machine; or where did you get it? What size/length is it?
I like your bench - the storage would be a big factor for me. Thank you for covering the dust collection and the Masso - this is very helpful.
The elite models come with a drag chain. I don’t believe the non elite machines do at least not when I got my first machine. I purchased a kit on Etsy from route 101 😬 I can’t think of his shop, if you type it in it will come up. I talk about it in one of my wasteboard videos I believed, it wasn’t hard to add.

I will need to have jigs that let me load and clamp cut panels to do repeatable production.
I'm just guessing but that looks like a 3/8 bit? Try 12000rpm at 400 imp with a .175 stepdown and 50% stepover. Your chatter seems like it's just from not getting the right chip load. I run most stuff at 600 imp up to 3/4 depth full engagement. Your machine seems solid enough to take a .017 chip load

I don’t use carveco, I use v carve pro and it’s around $500-600. Carveco is a subscription and it’s Monthly payments

The stiffy is the extra rail on top, makes it a little more rigid. It definitely helps but not needed. There’s no software included but I do believe you get a free year of carveco with purchase. On this machine the cut area is 48”x48”. I haven’t heard of any virus 🤷🏼♂️ I haven’t had any software issues with either of my machines
Maybe I missed it whats the water cooling for? You aren't going to spray antifreeze on wood.
Spindle needs cooled.
It keeps the spindle cool during long multi hour carves. It stays inside and circulates through it doesn’t come out
you never mentioned leveling the table, must i do this ?
as long as your bench isn't completely out of whack, when you surface the waste board it will take out the imperfections and "level" it to the spindle.
Did you zip tie the coolant lines to the drag chain? If you did how’s that working out? Might have to do that myself
I did but just around the clip part, it’s fine for now. I just got some hose holders from rowdy Roman on Etsy. The zip ties work but kinda shotty lol I need to install them yet

I personally cant comment on the shapeoko since I haven’t used one myself but I’ve had a onefinity since it first came out and it’s treated me well, like zero issues. No belts or v wheels is great, the community is great too.

You can use a makita router. Onefinity doesn’t offer their own spindle yet. I got one from PWN 𝙲𝙽𝙲. Starting out the router is just fine

No I wouldn’t try it. You can cut soft metals like aluminum or brass. You would need a 𝙲𝙽𝙲 mill if you’re going to be a doing a ton of metal

You can upgrade to the Masso. Onefinity says that the upgrade should be available in late Q2 of this year (end of June). I'm anticipating a little longer than that.

Yeah I have no idea on any of that 🤷🏼♂️ they did say it would happen but I doubt until they catch up on the flood of regular elite orders

From the outside of the cut area to the rails is 2” then pretty much all you need front and back. They make plastic brad nails I see a lot of people use too for big sheet goods

Great video! Answered a lot of my questions! I have the Elite Woodworker in my cart right now. I have been on the fence on which CNC to buy and it seems that the Onefinity is a really solid machine from all the videos I have been watching. I have been comparing the Shapeoko, stepcraft, and a few others but the Onefinity seem to be more of a professional build vs the other brands.
I am really on the fence on the spindle. I have looked at the PWN as well as the one sold by BulkMan (1.5kw 80mm 110v air cooled) and I am open to other suggestions. Was trying to save a few bucks here and there on the setup.
I would also be interested in your bit (cheap and expensive) recommendations. Where do you source them and what seems to be your most used for inlay cutting boards?
The bench is the last issue. I like the bench setup you have, ToolsToday uses a custom solution that is really nice and has lots of storage space, and I have seen a few prebuilt ones from Husky and other manufacturers that seem to fit the size and storage requirement. I will be going with the 32x32 cut model so I will be searching for something a bit smaller. If you have the onefinity that is roughly that size - I would like a recommendation for a bench.

@@TwoMooseDesign it’s newer but mine has a cut area of 3’x3’ and it will suddenly stop moving even though the router is still spinning. Sometimes it’ll freak out and quit and you have to start all over!

Does it take half inch bits? Or is it limited to 1/4? 🤔 I don’t see any info about this on the website
Depends on the spindle you buy. The makita router only takes 1/4 bits
