@ar - I moved to LA area in 2010 after living in Ohio for over 50 years. I miss thunderstorms. I was in Culver City Monday afternoon when lightning hit about 1/2 mile away. After not hearing very loud thunder for a couple years, it definitely make me jump. I'm used to hearing thunder approaching from a distance.
Native Californians laugh at me when I get overly-concerned about earthquakes. I laugh at native Californians when they get overly-concerned about lightning and thunder.

I work at a Middle School here in San Diego, and when it Started Raining during the day, the Students started to go out from under the Cover/Roof thing for Lunch and were playing in the Rain! As for the Thunderstorms last night, My Family has a Large German Shepherd Mix and he's 2, Meaning he turns into a giant baby anytime there's fireworks or thunder... it was a long night.
I Love thunder! It always seems to clear the atmosphere! When it started to thunder, I texted my granddaughter and asked if she heard the thunder. She wrote back “Yes! I love it!” That’s my girl!!🥰

I'm thinking that whole Facebook outage was "coincidentally" timed with the release of the 60 minutes whistle-blower coverage, as well as the following hearing the same day. Might as well black out and not have your people share any of that news on your major platforms.
