I ordered a new spacebar key from you guys because the little hooks on the bottom row of my key cap had all broken off when I removed the key incorrectly (didn't see this video so i had removed the whole butterfly clip with the key cap). Well! I tried to slot the new key cap back on like he said, slot the hooks in first, bottom flush, and then snap on the clasps, and I thought I had all the hooks on right, but let me tell you I did not and they all broke off immediately. Making the purchase useless, I could just have used my already broken key cap just as well as this currently broken one.
All that to say, if you're putting your key cap back on (and you've somehow miraculously gotten it off without breaking the hooks), be really careful to make sure the hooks are hugging the little bar before pressing down firmly. Otherwise you'll do what I did; I guess I had just put the hooks down on top of the bar without actually slotting it in, so when I pressed down it just smashed all the hooks into themselves and imploded them. Don't know how you can actually confirm you have them on before pressing because you can't really look under there so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ your guess is as good as mine.
Also! I would be careful with the tool, he makes it look really easy but I ordered the tool and it was still rather hard to work it between the butterfly clip and key cap, and that was when I had them both off the keyboard already and could have them face up to see what I was doing! What i mean is, if you're not careful, i think you could use the tool as shown to try to remove the keycap correctly and still accidentally pull off both the keycap AND the butterfly clip, which is annoying because then you have to glue things back in and your bar doesn't spring right and everything's a mess. So as you're going in with the tool just be expecting a tight fit, if the bar is coming up easily it's probably because you're taking the whole clip too and that's wrong.
Overall I still really appreciate the video because it helped me figure out how the pieces go together in theory, which way is top and bottom, etc., which HAS been useful. Still, in practice it is not at all as easy as it looks. And the purchase was a waste for me. Largely due to user error, but something to consider if you're in a similar situation.

Like I said in other vidéo on this :
Thank you for your video which allowed me to change my spacebar without too much damage.
On the other hand, with the double hooks upwards (towards the screen), it was impossible to clip the space correctly.
I tried to do it the other way: double hooks down, and there, it worked very well.
For those who can't do it, try doing like me: reverse the hooks.

Why is there no membrane on your video? Is it meant to sit on top or below white component?

See the bottom part of the space key , it like beds up and down. Does that mean I have to replace it all? It still works in the middle when I press but it’s super loose and won’t work if I click on the right and left hand side! Thanks

This guy was lucky: the plastic frame inside the space bar stayed attached to the spacebar when he lifted it up. It didn't with mine and it caused problems!

I accidentally ripped the silicone membrane directly beneath the spacebar. Is it safe to just cut out that portion? It affects the spacebar's ability to press.

I should have read the comments first before trying this seemingly easy task. I just popped out the clip underneath along with the spacebar. He failed to mention any caution about this critical part! Looks like I have to replace the whole keyboard now...

DO NOT do this. This fails to mention any of the precautionary measures, nor does it warn you about the underlaying plastic key back that will ALMOST SURELY come off when you do this. This video DOES sell you a solution to a problem it may have contributed to
