Excellent video. My right return and right shift key were sticking on my extended Magic KB 2. After checking out another video on the subject, I found this video and following along got my keys to working as good as new again. Showing how the metal clips fit onto the keyboard and the keys themselves was worth its weight in gold. Thanks.
Great detailed tutorial. My 0 and right key have been sticky for a while and it finally got to the point where the 0 wouldn't spring back at all. This was detailed and had good camera angles to get me in to see the process. Thanks and great video!

@@thecollegepicker hey am I doing something wrong? I've been trying to put my space back on for 2 days and it just gets stuck at to the bottom. And when I put back my r key, it is a bit rotated to the right
@@xdpplays8002I have the same problem with my „v“ key its in and the spring kinda works but i doesnt go up as high as the other keys and is also rotated to the right

I was having problems with the Shift key. It worked when I simply removed the metal pieces and pressed the shift key back in, but when you demonstrated how to install the metal parts, I just had to redo it the right way and it worked thanks!

You LITERALLY saved my day! Perfectly explained. I started off the wrong way (at the top of the key) and all the plastic parts underneath came off with it … separate! I tried to piece them together because I read somewhere that you have to assemble it crosswise. It was a nightmare. I tried multiple times and thought I broke a tiny tip off. Then I found your video and saw how it should look like when these plates are back on. And within 2 minutes it was done. It's super tight, although I really did break something small off. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I saved your video for future spills. 😉

What a godsend ! Thank you so much. In my case it was just the spacebar sticking with dried in beer spill. I had searched and found a some videos explaining the spacebar was next to impossible to put back on after removing it. After seeing your section on the spacebar I felt confident enough to fix it myself no big issues. Well done us!

Very impressed. This has got to be the most comprehensive and fool-proof and understandable step by step that I've watched for any how-to on CZcams. omg, this was FANTASTIC. Thank you so much for making this video, so detailed and efficient. I had spilled coffee on my keyboard (first time EVER in like 25 years). I immediately turned the board off and put it upside down on some paper towels with some gentle weight on it until the next day. but the space bar was sticking when I went to use it. I used a knife to get the key off, which I know is generally a bad idea because it can slip and cause even more issues. But I took my time, and everything works beautifully now!

Really glad I watched this - saved me from busting my shift key by giving me precise directions to remove it. Didn't manage to cure stickiness though, by blowing with compressed air - will order a bottle of isopropyl booze tomorrow!

Wow! Worked like a charm! I'm really glad that I didn't try this (remove space bar) without watching the tutorial, though. This was perfect :)! I will say that I didn't have a jewelers screwdriver so I used a combination of a fairly rigid cardboard 'tag' (like from buying new clothes, but just a bit thicker) to wedge under the space key & then used a small, flat-tipped screwdriver under that to gently wedge the space key off. Thanks!

Thank you, I was actually able to fix my "f" key by removing it as you showed, blowing any invisible dust off the underside of the key, then simply replacing it without doing the extra steps.

Great video and very detailed. I had a sticky problem with my "shift" key and was great to understand how the mechanics of each key. By the way, just as a note to this excellent tutorial, I used the metal clip that comes with the iPhone for opening the SIM slot, as the tool for removing the key, instead of a toothpick or electronics screwdriver and it worked perfectly. The only reason to do it this way is because I had one on my table at the very moment I was doing the repair, so as a complement to the different tools explained in this video, you can also use the metal clip safely as well. Great explanation... only difference i found in my keyboard was the FN key... its upside down in compare with others.
Putting the pieces back in was a whole lot easier than taking them out. I'm very happy to say the M key is no longer stuck! YIPPEE! Thanks.

Very good video and good use of practical tools. If I may point out that keycap pullers are available from $1 to a few dollars and they can make this job much easier (knowing the backside of the keycaps is AWESOME and a lesson that cost the rest of us at least a few keycaps to learn).
A great video, thank you. I have been having problems with the space bar sticking. I thought it was dirt. I took it apart following your video, cleaned it out and it still doesn't move hardly at all. I am not sure what is supposed to move the key back up after being pressed down, but it looks like a rubber bump in the middle that compresses air. That is shot. Looks like a new keyboard for me. Dang.
