Christopher Reeve will forever be Superman...one of the greats. I always get a knot in my throat remembering what a great actor he was!
He was the best. I hope to be half as good as he was
I consider this piece of music to be The Christopher Reeve Theme!!!
@@jws1272amen, bruh. This piece of music will forever belong to Chris Reeve, who is flying for real now in heaven.
he was the only actor who ever convinced me that you could hide who you were just by putting on a pair of glasses, mostly because he didn't. The way he could change his whole posture, demeanor, it shows clearest in the scene where he almost reveals himself to Lois in the original film. He shifts between the two personas in seconds, and you can see it happening.
When you see actual musicians play your favorite childhood superheroe theme with that authenticity that makes the music that much more rich in sound just gives one a whole new appreciation and respect for the orchestra.
Well... actually all the soundtracks of all the big blockbuster movies from the 70s onwards are music for symphony orchestras
WHen I flew as a flight attendant in the 70's, we showed "SUPERMAN" between JFK To San Diego on a DC 10....on my break I got to sit down and watched some of it...AWESOME CLASSIC MOVIE!! RIP CHRIS REEVE!!
By far the best live orchestral performance of this ingenius musical piece on CZcams.
Im turning 32 in a few months i was just a little kid in the 80s but I knew of superman thanks to my Mom she loved all his superman movies !!!! To the Reeves family thank you so very much Christopher Reeves will be missed forever!!!!!!!
"Don't worry, miss, I've got you!"
"...you've got me? Who's got YOU?"
a very great line from the 1.superman movie..:)
That part had me in tears as a kid laughing. Remember, Flying is still the safest way to travel😂😂
"Hi there, something wrong with the elevator?" Is probably my fav line in the movie!!!!
After all these years this version of the Superman theme still gives me goosebumps!!
One of the greatest orchestras in the world such enthusiasm and passionate playing
I was not a child when the original movie came out in 1978. I was already 27 years old. I do, however, remember that I looked forward to the movie just like the little boy that could not wait for the t.v. show each week in the 1950s, when I was 7. So many memories. Now I am 65 years young. Superman still is and will always be, this "little boys' hero.
I am 61 and remember the TV reruns from the early 1960's. A childhood friend claimed Superman committed suicide and we had an argument about it. I said it was impossible for Superman to kill himself, not knowing the actor supposedly really did commit suicide. Very sad.
i was born in 81, but i watched the movie when i was 3, movies lasted longer then...i will cry to this theme til im 90
I'm with you guys.
If you say Superman is a little boys' hero, nope you may have miss out this scene at 2:24
And I can tell you at 2:24 ALL the women in the cinema audience LITERALLY SWOONED....coz I was sitting next to rows of ladies gushing so much seeing Superman flying Lois above NY skies and over the Moon
I'm 40 yrs old this year ...2022
Superman will be my hero till my last breath.
He's the best of us. He shows us that its ok to be a good person. And shows the world , what a good person does.
He just has the best Super powers. The best theme ...ever.
As much as I love watching clips of the movie , just watching a full orchestra conduct this masterpiece is awe inspiring,......4:37 (chills)
Wonderful, the Simon Bolivar Orchestra really hits those lively points! Saw it in 1978, my buddy Tom worked the theater and snuck me in about 20+ times! Brought me great joy and tears!
This will forever be the best Superman theme. Nothing will beat this.
In my honest opinion, the all star superman theme followed by the superman:doomsday theme are far better and far more 'superman-like' than this, even if not as iconic.
Yeah they are good too. But I like this more for some reason.
+I am Superman : Can You Read My Mind...Maybe the most beautiful thing Mr. John Williams has ever written.!!!
Angel Mario Menendez I love that one. I listen to it a lot
You got that right! :-D
John Williams.....the most amazing film composer of our time...he is truly one of the greats. Amazing. Love Love Love JW.
You know the orchestras cooking when your conductor is smiling like that. he really got into it :)
La mejor versión q he escuchado.
This orchestral theme of the movie still gives me goosebumps.... Very legendary....
The most powerful superheroe song in history…the song itself tells a whole story
This is one of the most memorable and recognizable pieces of music ever. Just the first few opening notes gets me amped that I can take on the world.
Cristopher Reeves
Igual yo🥲🥲🥲🥲🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Christopher Reeve will be missed forever I have tears in my eyes as I say this with massive goose bumps !!!!!!!!! He was the best Superman ever !!!!!!! im 31 yrs old and I say the 80s Superman Reeve will always be the best ever Its so hard for me to watch new remakes over and over its so sad they are not the same anymore very hard to watch !!!!
The music tells us... A man can fly. Thank you John Williams.
Aaaaah im crying this is so beautiful!! 😭
Samuel Gonzalez 😊
Bravo Youth Orchestra! The most inspriing, beautiful rendition....
The opening part of this Superman theme, you can just imagine Kal el as a baby being sent off by his parents to planet Earth from Krypton & eventually changing scene of him finally reaching Earth, being found by his Earth parents where he crash landed, being able to lift a vehicle as a baby to their shock & amazement. Thereafter transitioning as the teenage farm boy Clark Kent helping his Earth parents while living happily in the countryside, wondering why he can run like a speed of bullet & jump past trains before it can hit him... Then changing scene of him visiting his destroyed planet Krypton & discovering his real origins & TRUE identity & now being able to FLY (for the 1st time) back to Earth... Then the next scene is a busy city street setting where there enters mild-mannered Clark Kent walking on his way to work at The Daily Planet & sensing there was nearby trouble, enters a phone booth & rip opens his shirt showing the iconic Superman logo & flying off to save a crashing helicopter in front of a skyscraper & rescuing just in time the passenger who fell, that was LOIS LANE aka Margot Kidder (may her soul also rest in peace)... JOB WELL DONE Christopher Reeve... YOU OWN & EARNED this BEAUTIFUL Superman theme. It was SPECIALLY MADE FOR YOU & YOURS alone... BIGGEST SALUTE to you!!! FLY HIGH UP IN THE SKY TO HEAVEN... 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏 #RIPChrisReeve
I STILL REMEMBER THAT DAY WHEN I WENT WITH MY PARENTS,MY BROTHER AND NEW BORN SISTER TO WATCH THE MOVIE,I AM FROM MEXCIO AND PROBALBY WE WENT LIKE 2 YEARS AFTER,YOU KNOW HOW IT WORKS BACK IN TIME,I REMEMBER HOW MUCH ENJOYED THE MUSIC,I WAS LIKE 8 YEARS OLD, BUT I REMEMBER ALL THE EMOTION,S ALL THE FEELINGS THAT I CAN SENSE IN MY WHOLE BODY,MY DAD WAS A PRIVATE PILOT,AND MY DREAM SINCE I WAS A CHILD WAS BECOME A PILOT AS WELL,BUT,SADLY,THAT NEVER HAPPENS, AND EVERYTIME WHEN I HEAR THE SONG,I IMAGINE MY SELF FLYING, AND THINKING WHY MY DREAM NEVER CAME TRUE,BUT WHAT CAN WE SAY, SOMETIMES LIFE TAKES YOU TO DIFFERENT PATHS, I HOPE IF THERE IS A LIFE AFTER THIS,I COULD BE A BIRD,TO ENJOY THE WONDERFUL SKY.
Funny you should say you wanted to be a pilot, man. Chris Reeve was a glider pilot in his downtime before he shot to stardom with Superman, which is how he was able to make the flying look so realistic. Someone once noted he flew like a plane would, and that was why.
Damn, I feel like flying and saving the Earth.
Ghee Rock id go back in time to stop 9/11
You realize that's Superman's real main power...to inspire people to do great things in the service of others.
Everyone
@@JodaroKujo If I could, I'd go back to May 27th, 1995 and, if I had Superman's powers, swoop in and grab Chris just before he hit the ground after falling off his horse. I always felt it was unfair what happened to him; he was a truly good man, and bad things should not happen to good people.
You orchestra members are just awesome.
I believe that this now-immortal piece of music belongs to the actor who brought The Man Of Steel to life in 4 films, beginning in 1978, with a movie whose tagline reads:
"YOU'LL BELIEVE A MAN CAN FLY".
This is........The Christopher Reeve Theme!!!
I LOVE that you included scenes from Superman Returns. That was a very underappreciated movie. As someone who grew up with the great CHRISTOPHER as Superman, RETURNS was a FANTASTIC tribute to the BEST actor EVER to play The Man Of Steel.....
Agree with every word you have written.
Me too
@@gpat64 Thanks.
@@TheNowhereMan0 Thank you as well!!
Simon Bolivar Symphony is huge! fantastic how much sound they can generate. They bring that extra "oomph" to John Williams composition!
Totally speechless! Way to go guys! Terrific performance!!! This is one of my favorite themes ever!!! This is an extraordinary John Williams's composition and you managed to perform it incredibly. Congratulations!!!!!!
Juste parfait, la perfection à l'état pur, certainement la meilleur version parcourue....! BRAVO!!!! ;)
Temazoooo! Extraordinario!
This theme music is one of the reasons Man of Steel didn't do as well as it could have - besides the pacing of the film and the lack of chemistry between Lois and Clark. The film was great and appropriate in a post 9/11 society but the lack of this kind of score is one of the reasons it won't stand out as iconic as the older film. This music is forever Superman - it's inspiring! This orchestra did a great job.
Oh ur crazy Williams score was great but there was nothing wrong with that score man of steel was fine there was chemistry between clark an lois it just wasn't some goofy love story like before Han did an excellent job and surpassed some of Williams composition
@Paul El im not saying johns is bad im saying hans is better in the first superman he became superman which is why the theme is triumphant in mos he had to go through more which is why the music is quality they're both great for their version johns is iconic hans is too im tired of people bashing mos
@Paul El i love the character me my favorite superman theme is the one from tas
Greatest rendition ever.....
God bless America,
Viva Venezuela
Ohh! this is brilliant,,,! Superman theme always give me chills,,, ! Christopher Reeve you always be Superman.
I like the theme from Man Of Steel, but this is the true theme song for Superman.
Damn right! Man of steel's theme can't even touch this version. This is the greatest superman theme of all time ;-)
cbolanz1 I sure like it a lot. And I remember running home from school in the 1960s so I could see the Adventures of Superman that came on at 4:00PM.
I agree! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It`s a very beautiful execution by Simon Bolivar Orchesthra; this song take me to my childhood, when i saw the movie for the first time......
Fantastic, uplifting, inspirational, magnificent ! And with the best ever Superman Christopher Reeve. Before the current fad for dark heroes. This is the real deal. :-)
Doesnt get any better than this. Good pace to it, just brilliant especially with the film clips as well
one of the best rendition
GOOSEBUMPS PEOPLE
Bella Day no other soundtrack can do that!
Bella Day, EVERYTIME
This is the best arrangement and playing of SUPERMAN I( have ever heard!
Shatteringly good. Spine tingling talent all round. A rare moment of being proud to be human.
Made in 1978, and STILL the best Superman live action ever made, hands down.
Christopher Reeve will always be the one and true superman. May he rest in peace.
Just hearing the crowd go bananas for the song fills me with the inner most child of pride and nostalgia.
Excellent orchestra rendition. Lovely depth to the bass in the introduction. Pacing was a little off in some places where it got a bit too fast, but the sound is beautiful.
Increible interpretacion y emotiva.
best theme song ever!
Well done! That music is some of the best movie music ever written .. catches the essence of what Superman always meant and was.
The greatest Theme tune EVER!!!
One of the best musical scores for any movie. Right up there with the Star Wars song and the Captain Kirk fight music.
John Williams Is A Gift To All Mankind. SALUTE TO YOU, SUPER COMPOSER. Goosebumps.
I just cant get over how amazing this orchestra did this song! Incedible! Perfect!!
As much as I love this theme, it's the audiences' thunderous applause that makes me tear up. The joy and appreciation gets me everytime.
Saw this movie with my parents in theaters when I was just four. I remember going to Sears afterward and saying to a man that worked there, “You look like Superman” lol!
Remember going to watch this on my own .when it first came out ...the wife wasn't interested . Thought it was so good I drove home told her to get her coat on and come and watch it with me .the same day , .she did and enjoyed it . great memories , been married to her for 47 years now ...
one of the best of John Williams, thanks
John Williams did a good job composing the Superman theme
Marty Izaguirre thank you very much for that great moment. (FF)
+Fabricio Florencio Anytime, bro...
+Marty Izaguirre thank to remenber my chillhood man i barely believe that was played in my beautiful country
A blockbuster sound track played by my favorite latinamerican orchestra, my Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra ! Bravo !Thanks to Mr John Williams and Conductor Eduardo Marturet
I'm playing this through my hifi and it never fails to make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck - Thankyou for sharing this piece !
Best orchestral version of this piece on CZcams, the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra is excellent!
wow o wow i mean how good does this sound even better to have been there to see it in person hats off to the ladies and gent who perform this well done
Fabulous Performance ! BRAVO. BRAVO !!!
There will always be only 1 Superman! Everyone else will always be compared to him and will always come up short! ENOUGH SAID.
Not just the best sUperman version. This might be the best movie theme music ever. Ever. Better than Magnificent 7, Star Wars, even (dare I say it?), the William Tell overture. One of you stated it inspires you..
.for me, it makes me want to save the world! Is it something like that for anyone else?
I know!!! I later realized why I loved it so much more than any other superman movie/show. Johnathon and Clark had the best father/son relationship!
"Hi there, something wrong with the elevator?" My fav line in the movie!!
Im impressed with the fact the Simon Bolivar symphony even did this...
Nice.
Tempo, exuberance, clarity, profundo...well done!
Lindos sentimientos amigo. Un Latino de la Patria Grande.
What did you just say?
+Ashley Channel Wow, that performance Simón Bolívar´s orchestra my respect, they made me remember my childhood, i know that it is an american hymn but beyond, the art made music by John Williams, the art don´t know countries, frontiers, war, poverty or richness, it´s a just beautiful moment and brought tears in my eyes.
PS Hi and bye for everybody.
How are you speaking two Languages so easy?!
I think its easy if you want really to learn any language.
Very well, See you later and good luck Ashley Channel it was a pleasure to speak with you.
Having the right soundtrack/composer is such a vital part of the formula for a good film. I wonder how much it would have hurt Superman (1978) had they NOT had John Williams do the score. ...or had they not cast Christopher Reeve....as it is....classic film. Best superhero film to dae....and it was done BeFORE there was CG. :) And the SFX worked!! :)
Christopher Reeve was always the 1 true superman in my eyes God bless him !!!!!!
Undoubtedly to date, this is the best execution of this iconic seventh art theme and it is a luck that is directed by Eduardo Marturet and executed by the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, it adds an extra feeling to this emblematic and recognized theme. of the world cinematography.
This music is what made me feel special and that I had a purpose in life and to never give up when times are hard or your alone
And always follow your dreams
@Paul El Amen to the end
Hmm, how to put this..... THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! Seriously, just awesome.
LINDO, LINDO, LINDOOOOO.......
REST IN PEACE CHRISTOPHER REEVE.
The ONE AND ONLY SUPERMAN
Way to go Venezuela it sounds incredible , John Williams would be proud
i can safely say that this is my favourite song that has ever been written
Superb orchestra and film mixing in the video! Congratulations!
This was fantastic! It made me feel all warm inside and my heart fluttered as I remembered Christopher Reeve.
John Williams is just so great.
Gratitude , John Williams the one true Superman Theme
Greatest soundtrack to any movie ever made in my personal opinion.
The sound was so pure, so energetic, and wonderfully synced with movie clips. I've saved it to experience it again and again.
Gives me chills every time I listen to it!!!
Gravity.... It made me cry... Flawless...
Good work, young Venezuelans. Excellent.
Wow this orchestra is amazing! This song brings back great memories as a kid,I will never forget the original Superman, not ever. To me this song is Superman! thanks Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra!
