Lol too late 🤭
Just say no
Panic buy?
My neighbor was going hunting and could not find 30-06 ammo during ammo scarcity. He asked if I had any, I brought out an ammo can just full of 30-06 and he asked me where I got it and told him I stocked up before the shortage and when he tried to pay me for it I said no because they would watch my place when I had to travel for work. He showed up a few days later with a couple of boxes 556 and 9mm left over from firearms training. Now that's a good neighbor.
I had a dumb moment. When I read they watch your place I thought you were talking about the government or something for a second, lol. This is why you get good sleep.

getting a job at a local gun store has def lowered my ammo costs by abt 50%. Talk about a life saver in the current times.
If you’ve got a son in HS that’s a life hack🤣🤣
Not to mention access prior to it hitting the shelves.
That is a terrific idea!!!..Now that I retired, I had considered applying, now I think you convinced me

This is why I buy online: there are times where there is a $.10-$.15 per round difference between online and retail pricing.
100% true, it is a huge difference, you aren't exaggerating! Even accounting for shipping, and then usually no Sales tax.
What website(s) brother?

I am so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Are you sure? It used to be $.01/round and $.10/round.
A lot has changed is 5 years
back when you could buy a nice house for 300k
@@FitnFire Oh for real? I never remember it being that cheap but I also only bought in stores maybe online it's like that. I'm not surprised! I started buying around 5 ish years ago.
@@mrfofff you still can long as you don't want to live in a big city.

1st problem is going to Academy sports or sportsmen's warehouse. For the most part you can find cheaper ammo online and if you order over a certain amount, you get free shipping.
Of course you can find cheaper ammo online. However, for someone that is in need of ammo immediately, this is a segment of what is available in my area.
Prime example, the first time gun owner may want to understand what ammunition will cost (good or bad) before selecting a certain type of pistol so they have some ammo when they walk out of the store.
@@FitnFire I agree but, for a 1st time buyer he/she should do a little research before buying a gun and see what is available locally. Then if the ammo for the gun they want is in stock, buy a couple boxes then order more online. I've been wanting a 50 bmg, so I did a little research found the one I wanted and before I even ordered the gun, I started buying ammo for it. The main reason for that is because there was only 1 place where I live that even sold it and yes I almost cleaned them out of it. They had 11 boxes of it and I left 3 of them on the self. My gun will be here in mid February and I already have 210 rounds for it.
@@Blueknight1960yeah I think you’re in a different boat buying a 50bmg vs somebody buying their first firearm in a common caliber lol. Especially if they’re new to it, there is a lot of contradicting and just plain wrong information online to sift through, which can be very overwhelming.
@@TortillaChip521 I was just using what I got as an example but the same applies to buying any firearm.
@@Blueknight1960 except for common calibers which can be found in stores cheaper than any cpr online, the plethora of scam ammo websites, and endless “buy the newest most expensive thing” advice out there on the internet. It’s not a trivial amount of research to become privy to these things, and with the number of brand new gun owners and rise in crimes over the last 3-4 years it’s not as uncommon for somebody to not have the time to do hair splitting research in order to save $0.02 per round.
My Academy is stocked. More urban/suburban area.
A week back they had 250 round boxes of Monarch 9mm for $50 so $.20 a round before tax. That's pre-pandemic prices
I didn't just stock up I stock piled.
Should have bought more to be honest.
.20 is pre pandemic? That must be buying by the 50rd box.
At my academy in WV the monarch brand 9mm 12.99$ bought 3 boxes yesterday.
@@bensherman8976 Go get some more at that price!
@@chrissewell1608 I have been the past couple weeks. I scored probably 15 boxes total..
Good price
I remember buy 500 rd thunderbolt boxes for $18. Thats around $.035 per round. And rem corelock 30-06 180gr for $10.99 a box, around $.55 a round. It averages every 10 years ammo doubles in price. I used to go to my local range and shoot 500 .22lr, 200 9mm, 100 45auto, 20 30-06, and a round of trap every mo. To do that today would cost $350. What a joke.
True my first 22lr brick of 500 was 15 bucks in 90s. Can find bricks at cabelas or dicks recently 50 bucks. Walmart used to have decent priced ammo now online is good option
Our local store when on flash sale is 27 bucks for thunderbolts
Walked into my local Bi-mart and they had Fiochi 9mm 1000 round cases (not advertised) on pallets selling for $219 which ends up being $11 per 50 round box. So of course I bought several cases.
Nice!!! Good find
Wow. The Colorado Wallymarts have ceased carrying pistol and AR Ammo all together .25, .32, .380, .9, .40, 10, .45 and 5.56/.223,.300 BO all gone from the shelves. I don't know about the boutique rounds, as I don't own a niche AR other than .300 BO.

Wish you would of went into Shotgun shells, what gauges are offered, types of shot, and price!
My only option is buying online. BassPro is a 30-minute drive. And BassPro never has anything.
For example…
I’ve been looking for CCI 45 Colt Big 4 shotshell for over a YEAR (for Burmese Pythons here in South Florida.) ZERO chance of finding it in a store, nor #2 20 gauge. The stores just never have the stuff you want when you want it.
Fortunately, CCI just listed the Big 4 and I ordered a few boxes of 10, but DAMN expensive.

should post the reloading component prices too.. nice to compare, esp from us guys in the woods of maine who have to order out, more than can go and buy.. great video!
I’ll look into it for sure boss! Thanks for watching
You passed right over my favorite handgun caliber, the 40 S&W.
It was intentional
@@FitnFire I don't understand all the FBI ass-kissing? Why are patriots so supportive of the Left-Wing FBI's switch to 9mm, which was done only because some women in the FBI had a problem with .40? Everyone dumped .40 when the FBI did. Paul Harrell showed definitively in his meat target tests that .40 S&W is still a superior round to 9mm unless you're using +P+ 9mm Ranger, etc.
Prices are definately going up around here. Shelves look about the same, most of the personal defense stuff is gone. Rifle ammo and shotgun stuff while hit hard was still on the shelf in most calibers. Couldn't find any 45-70 govt. I appreciate you taking the time to let us know what your seeing in your area.
That's one thing I haven't been buying haven't shot since my dad died but I still practice and I keep enough on hand for emergencies
Sorry for your loss, Joe. Thanks for watching
As of 1-12-24 i can find 22, 9mm every round on line cheap prices. 223 and 556 are way high. Some people are going to say supply and demand. And i say bullshit. All other ammo is still down, can find AR's at low prices, so the cost of those products to produce is still cheap, but the cost of 223/556 has gone up? No, it's called gouging. They know it's the most popular and the prices are being inflated to gouge the consumer.
It’s almost like there’s a conflict that we’re funding 🤔
Gunmagwarehouse has 5.56 for $9.99 a box
What are you talking about? I am seeing PMC 5.56 at major online retailers for $10-$12 a box right now. Winchester 5.56 for $13 a box. Stop being so gullible and look at the real conspiracy that is going on at the Southern border to flood America with illegals that will be put into the US military to go after Americans and vote for Democrats forever.
Two to be exact and possibly more with prez warmonger and his minions running the show!!!
Academy was my local go to for years. I went in there 2 days ago and they are currently $7 + more per box of 50 , vs online for handgun. Buying in bulk sort of evens out the shipping and still comes out cheaper.
Yeah dummy. Keep only buying online. Then when the Feds start their forced digital currency and you are blocked from buying anything online because you are on their naughty list, you won't have any local stores left that will sell to you for cash because you didn't support them and they went out of business.
Academy stopped selling 30 Rd. mags too. March 2024.
@@alantubbs5113 all our local Academy has is Hexmags in 30rd in Georgia. And they completely stopped carrying anything in Russian calibers about a year ago.
Was at Murdoch's Ranch supply yesterday and the Ilse was completely full of ammo.
I have noticed that the (9MM) Winchester White box ammo, prices have been up & down. Better brands have been cheaper lately, like the CCI Blazer brass ammo. While my Academy Sports has a good amount of ammo, the overall prices are still kinda higher than pre-Biden inflation! I have found good deals online too.
I still enjoy seeing the current ammo prices and availability. Especially going into an election year, it always changes!
I follow a channel in Florida, who does these too.
Good to hear...thanks again for watching!
Academy does not do you any favors on prices compared to other retailers.
This is what is available to me in my town. Could I go to Sheels in KC or Wichita, sure! But, that is going to add to the overall price with an added tank of gas.
@FitnFire order online. Twelve dollar shipping for any amount. Good prices too. I live fairly rural.
Where I'm at, academy is the most affordable. Fun stores and fun shows charge 3x what academy charges. Bass pro shop charge 2x.
@@FitnFire just was at scheels in KC this week. Prices looked similar to academy. I've had better luck on PSA with ammo prices.
@@TheGainfather PSA has GREAT prices and IIIFFF you can get free shipping on it then it makes worthwhile. But after tax and shipping, PSA ammo deals end up being “about” the same.
Went to a gun show the other day and ammo was through the roof there. Did find some deals on .22 but for 9mm, 556, and .45 I'll buy online. Long as you get a few 100 rounds it's way cheaper and get free shipping!
Only thing different around me is shelves are fully stocked. Only found one place online selling large rifle primers. Small primers are thick.
Good to hear...thanks for watching
Haven’t had any issues buying ammo in the Sandusky and Cleveland Ohio areas. We have a store called fins feather and fur and they always have ammo in stock.
People make fun of 30SC pricing but I can order a box of 50 for 15 bucks online while y'all paying 50 bucks for a range pack of 380s.
If that's what you want to use, do you! But, I would rather have something that is easier to find in the long run and neither of those calibers are it. But, thanks for watching
I've been reloading for over 40 years, I have tens of thousands of bullet heads, primers and a whole bunch of primers. I stocked piled when things were cheap 1-2 cents a primer and under $20 a pound for powder. While it's still a bit cheaper to reload some rounds at current component prices the availability of the components seems to be an issue now. I think buy cheap and stock deep is a thing of the past.
You are correct 👍
I don’t know how I just discovered your channel just now. I thought that Academy looked familiar. Then I saw the ammo shelf. Then I was like oh shit, that’s the Academy I go to. Sending a follow.

I drive 1 1/2 outside of my city to the country just picked up a case off 223 pmc bronze for $210 and a few boxes of Winchester 9mm 147g jhps for 100$
A lot of online sales of foreign 9mm around 24 cents/rd (True Ammo for example). Everything else is fairly expensive. Thank God I loaded up (buy it cheap and stack it deep) over the years.
Call me a novice but what are the best brands for 5.56 and 3.08? I’m new to the game but I will definitely be going to the range sometime soon. Norma and federal seem to have the best prices for 5.56 on PSA. Also, does it matter what ammo I buy for range/self defense? On PSA they’ll be categorized for one or the other. I’d love your take.
It’s never coming back down to the “pre this” prices.
Exactly! After every major event, it’s one more reason to increase prices
Yeah, with the closing of the last American lead producer by Comrade Obama, and our govt and corporations filled with globalists who are prioritizing ammo, powder and primer sales to other countries over Americans, it's looking really bad. If the Dems steal the next election and get all three branches, then it will go completely insane as they will stock the Supreme Court, implement an Australian type gun ban after their phony court rules it will be "legal," and then Biden declares an insurrection like Lincoln did and sends in the military filled with illegals and woke soldiers to go after anyone opposed to their illegal communist revolution.
Good info, short and to the point. Rock on man.

Call me a novice but what are the best 5.56 and 9mil brands? I’m new to the game but I like learning the markets. Norma and Federal seem to have the best prices on PSA. ammo has been really good as of late here in Texas and online, seen several utubers predecting this may get as low as it gets from here on out and the new norm ... due to the components of ammo and inflation. may drop a $1 or $2 here and there ... we will never go back to "old days" not even close.
