- I visit Bass Pro Shops to see what ammunition prices have done. It does appear that they are going up and in some ways drastically.

More proof that Bass Pro's business model is "Sell at inflated prices to people who don't know any better."
Cabelas should be better 😏
@@FitnFire bass pro owns cabelas. 😉
But all the big box stores are sort of the same where they consider MSRP a sale price. And how did that work out for Gander Mountain?
Every big chain usually charges 48% more then they paid for the product
Ammo prices can go down if everyone stopped panick buying it.
1000000%
I doubt most people are panic buying seeing the amount of stock on the shelves. One area that is causing price increases is cost of sub-components; primers, powder and metals are all increasing.
People don't have the money to panic buy...🤷♂️
@@FitnFire People were panicking buying a few months ago because of a false rumor that Lake City was going to stop selling ammunition to civilians when .223 was almost below $.40 a round. There was zero evidence it was going to happen and people still panicked and drove the price back up.
Minnesota company sold out for over 1.8 billion in sales to Ukraine in gunpowders and primers..which definitely affects Remington..the conflicts over seas are milking manufacturing here.. although contracts have to be fully completed so no need to fill a house with rounds.
One thing for sure, ammo will NOT be getting any cheaper. Buy all you can and store it properly. With the way the world is going, you may need it.
100% agree with that
No need to hoard it. How long do you really think you can survive the end of the world?
Great format. Thank you for including cost per round!
Thanks for watching
I appreciate the consistent honesty about the data being your area and not just "all prices everywhere" as some other channels imply with there 'ammo price' videos.
Seeing I work as a “pricing analyst” as my day job, I understand market based pricing which means not all areas are alike.
@FitnFire I like to think people would understand that prices change based on the where & when, just from day to day buying gas/milk/bigmacs/etc even of they don't understand the 'why' but it seems a lot refuse to connect it all on their head.
@@xxxlonewolf49 oh believe me, there is a comment thread in here that expounds on that point exactly 🙄
Lighten up Francis. As long as he keeps going to the same store you’ll get the idea of the trend…
Some 9mm, 115 gr. practice ammo, such as Blazer Brass and Federal American Eagle, are actually thinly "plated" rather than "jacketed" bullets. These "plated" rounds should not be run through ported or compensated barrels. The thin plating can be shaved off the bullets by the ports and thrown back into the shooters' faces. There may be other loads with this same issue.
I know they are labled FMJ and the warnings are not on all of the boxes. So, before you start calling me rude things, go to the websites for these rounds and read all the warnings that are in fine print.
If you know me, there are probably other reasons to say bad things about me. But, don't shoot the messenger on this fact. Really, please don't shoot me!
Coming with the AcKuaLLy vibes 😉
Here in Oregon at bimart we can get the Winchester 9mm 200rd packs for 51.99$
I buy one every month or so to add to the stash. Our cabelas charges 74.99$ 🤮
That’s a huge price difference! Thanks for sharing!
For those who are not aware, all Herters brand ammo (all calibers, all weights, all types) is manufactured by and identical to Winchester white box. The Herter's head stamps even have the Winchester "W" on them. If you have shot Winchester white box, you now know what you're getting with Herters.
Great intel!!! Thanks
any idea what the herters hp rounds are?
@@brettliddicoat3284 it ought to be the same.
@FitnFire i figured probably a winchester projectile, just not sure what one.
@brettliddicoat3284 Herters JHP are also Winchester basic defensive loads. They could be compared with Remington base JHP. Some balistic tests between the two have indicated the terminal performance of the Remington was superior to the Winchester, although I have not looked for recent controlled testing of the two loads.
Gun mag warehouse and palmetto state armory has the best prices out there right now.
Good options
Be thankful you are not in Canada add anywhere from 5 to 25 $ to some of those prices / box .
If I found myself in Canada, I’d move immediately.
EVERYTHING IS. Thanks Joe.
I buy bulk online for all my ammo. About the only ammo I buy locally is .410. All my 9mm, 45acp and 5.56 ammo I purchase online in a bulk package. Much lower than big box stores. I am seeing about 45-47 cents for 5.56/.223. I am seeing about 22-25 cents a round for 9mm. I am able to purchase 38 special for about 52 cents a round and 357 magnum at about 57-62 cents a round. I am getting 45acp for about 47 cents a round. So I basically don't buy anything at a big box store. I buy online.
Thanks for watching
Bulk buying ammo has never been a more attractive option!
Thanks for watching
In before everyone complains about walking through a store.
LOLZ…I’ll teleport next time 😉
Exactly, need some heelies to get rid of the camera bounce.
@@dr.catmilk but then I won’t be able to foley in a bum-da- bum-ba-dum-da-bum in my head while watching.
The Bass Pro in Mesa, AZ has two employees at the entrance of the ammo aisle. They also enclosed the aisle into a U shape.
Weird
Dude, I live in upstate New York, and I pay slightly more than double at my local gun stores. I purchased hornady 44 magnum 240 grain at $65 for a box of 20. I purchased five boxes. I didn't add the $2.50+tax state background check.
You should try buying from our store
My shops supplier is increasing 6% in May and another 20% end of June.
I have a BPS close by. And always found them to be the highest priced ammunition available in the area. And have saw that in many videos on CZcams
Thanks for watching
I noticed this last month 9mm is going up to $14-$15 a box of 50 for normal cci blazer when it used to be $12-$13 same with all the 9 . 22 may be the same not sure same with 12ga 556 is still like $12 a box of 20 that’s in Florida looks like prices may be going up at least on 9mm everything else has kinda been up
There is a lot of variability right now as contracts, inventory and markets align. I’d think more normalization should be seen by the end of the year
I've actually seen prices a little cheaper online recently.
Thanks for watching
Great Video man Keep it up bro !!!!
Thanks boss
Buy your ammo online. Our site is a great place to buy
45lc and 500 S&W magnum so both mine are high
Never buy loaded Ammo at BasPro/Cabela's but I do like their Reloading bullet price for sure.!
Thanks for watching
The Kansas bass pro looks identical to the Oklahoma bass pro
Bulk ammo online is best option
Agreed...thanks for watching
Well, They sure are not going down
Very true...I have another video coming out today and it "appears" that prices may be holding steady?????
Ammo hasn't gone up at my local gun shops.
Good to hear!
Olathe bass pro im pretty sure. They are significantly higher than other big box stores like scheels, same box of regular 30-06 powershok is $8 more expensive
Olathe is correct! I went to Bass Pro for the specific reason of illustrate varying prices based on where you shop. As the year goes on, I’ll revisit the exact same stores to see how prices have changed.
@@FitnFire i feel you, i go around the area and compare too. Local shops just as bad or worse on price
@@Pandaman43 I try to buy a box or two, or a magazine at my local shop because they just cannot compete with stores like Academy or Sheels. It will help a little bit and I have found supporting the local shop has provided me with really good deals.
But you’re pricing these at bass pro where everything is more. I’m finding 115/124 in Colorado for $11.99 Winchester /$13.99 abundance of 5.56/.223
You’re
This is the point of the video. Prices in my area vs your area.
@@shockershooter thankful you pointed that out what a mess it would have been for others to read.
@@FitnFire not only a difference in areas but which stores you are buying from as well.
@@indibreathin glad I could help, also to get back on track, are you going to post a video showing ammo prices in your (correct spelling) region?
Ammoseek & wikiarms both seem to be good online ammo price finders
Agreed
Two words, buy online.
Thanks for watching
Only buy bulk so but of course if you have more gun owners things will get more expensive like when people want more wages prices go up it's balance
Your sitting about a dollar or 2 than us over here in Oregon 22lr is definitely getting high though
Good intel…thanks for sharing.
Hollow points are over a dollar a round?!? I just checked today wtf! What can’t ban guns so make ammo impossible to get
Yeah...pretty crazy how much those went up.
Thay need to lower the prices
*They
Ammo prices are up... Goes to most expensive store to check. 😂
There are multiple stores and guess what, I have multiple videos. I’ll also be revisiting those stores. How are people going to know what this store has and how they compare without data…stooge
This is why I buy online. Free shipping over $200 and way cheaper. Boycott these local stores and force them to lower their prices.
The concern I have is that these “big box stores” or local shops may become all we have once online sales is banned. I have a feeling that will be the next big battle.
@@FitnFire just buy a bunch online. 👍
@@Sizzerb81 I will once I pay off my 40 acres
@@FitnFire that sucks, can’t buy ammo because you have 40 acres to pay back the bank.
I'm looking for Aguila Mini slugs, but I can't find them
Those and 410 shells have been challenging
Revealing, Inflated due to INFLATION… 😂😂😂
Allow myself to introduce….myself 🥴
Thank you for 30-30
Thanks for watching
yes they are
He past up 40sw
Yep…that was intentional
The best source for Ammo used to be Gun Shows, for the past three years the Gun Shows prices are in fact MORE EXPENSIVE than local stores or online. I DO NOT buy from Bass Pro or Cabelas, they are twice as high as any other place, even Academy has better prices than they do.
5.56 target ammo at 67 cents a round when three years ago it was 23 cents......
Bought me today some 5,56 FMj from S&B 48 cent (euro cent) per bullet. Wow never thought that ammo will be cheaper in europe than in the US ;)
Heaters ammo is Winchester.
Thanks for watching
More data points :)
MORE!!!
The answer is yes, ammo prices are going up, especially where I live in the communist state of Illinois.
Right on. I’m spending a week in Illinois…not by choice 🤣
Seems like the more color haired people there is the more communist laws get put in place lol
Łał😮 takich rzeczy w Polsce jeszcze nie widziałem
Good to hear! Thanks for watching
Everyone's been stocked up since the pandemic
those prices are terrible good grief.
Coming to a market near you!
I guess I'm doing it right. Buying slowly over a long period of time. Nobody notices when you buy small amounts. Also, you can stay under that "radar" so that the Fed boi's never notice. Just like the Grey Man that people forget all about 10-seconds after you walk out of the door. Got all I could ever use for the rest of my life. Even if there will ever be that apocalypse. Don't care if there is a price rise. No sweat off my back if the cost for 9mm Lugar rises to $100 bucks for a 50 round box. Don't care if .45-apc rises to $175 bucks for a 200 round bonus box. Those pew-pews will stay on the store shelves for all care.
So nah-nanny-boo-boo, to all the money gubbing ammo speculators.
Thanks for watching
Herter's is just Winchester so....
The 556 ammo there is high
Bro... the UMC 357 was a buck a piece... lol... It's all beyond the pale.
It’s almost like current events we have chosen to involve ourselves in is straining stock 🤔
For fukin out loud man! Do you buy your ammo by the round or the box? Can you get anymore confusing?
I buy on a price/round basis since my inventory is low for certain types of calibers and high for others. So, knowing a price/round allows me to budget for what I need. Incidentally, everyone else does that too.
@@FitnFire not where I’m at. I’m not as tight as the skin on a grape that I have to worry about buying my ammo priced by the piece. Mine comes 50 and 20 to a box!
@@ThisShitDontFlush that’s great…now do some basic math and poof! There you go…you’ve caught up with the rest of us. PS…go to ammoseek dot com and tell me what you see.
@@FitnFire you do you. I don’t have to follow suit to find my way around the bullet bargain barn.
I’m past common core math. I do pretty well gathering my ammo supply. There aren’t any bargains buying by the ‘piece’
@@ThisShitDontFlush you might wanna retake common core if my method is too confusing 🤣🤣🤣
Oh has it been 3 months ? Times to scare up some ammo huh... I don't believe anyone on CZcams anymore that's not trying make some cash .. We have heard ammo going up every 3 months it seems yet its as cheap as its been sense what 2019
Literally just paid 199$ for case a week ago ....like to see the old 129.99$ lol ..but ill take 150$
@@sleigh4019 prices do fluctuate, especially during uncertain times like elections and protests like we’re seeing on campuses around the country. Then throw in the fact that components are going to be scarce soon (there is currently a nitrocellulose shortage for making gunpowder) and the trickle down from that will shock the market by summer, it’s not going to get better soon.
Register and vote accordingly.
Vote ? lol..
Voting is like buying a WWE ticket and expecting a genuine match in good faith...
Oh so cute ! 😆
@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_. don’t put your faith in the government but participation especially at the local level is important. Electing the right sheriff will go a long way to warding off bad policy.
It’s almost like I don’t believe anyone in the comments anymore. Even Steven I guess 🤷🏼♂️🤣
Nope
🇦🇺😎👍Interesting
Thanks 👍🏻
Buy your ammo online and not at local stores. Brass Pro shop🖕🏾
Thanks for watching
Lol. You americans buy too much ammo. Of course there is allways a shortage and the prices go up. Here in good old Europe the stocks are full ;) But then again people are not buying and stocking up tousands of rounds.
Your stocks won't be full for long.
@@FitnFire Oh they are allways full (i don´t think that they ship ammo from europe to the US or the other way around) They simple produce it here. For example the last winchester rifle i bought has never seen the US- It says made in portugal by browning...
@@chrischrist4160 LOLZ…that’s cute
Somehow i got unsubbed from your channel.
It happens…thanks for checking and re-subscribing
shop psa. way better prices lol will never buy from a box store
PSA is kind of a box store, we just don’t have them in the Midwest.
Ammo seek dot com is a great spot to find deals and capitalize on free shipping.
PSA is great until you add shipping... lol
