Garnt is one of the few people where I agree with one part and then he loses me right after.
Yeah he was right on the skin and tighs part haha it really is the best part of the chicken. The ass too. But then he somehow made me NOT agree with him by the end of the argument xd
That's because his takes on sauce and bread will be forever wrong, and those always end up in the argument eventually.

For me it was the other way around. I'm with him on ranch being awful, but nothing else.

I think another reason why Garnt hates tendies/nuggies is because he hates condiments, which absolutely go hand in hand with nuggies and tendies
I used to never eat chicken nuggets and tenders with sauce, but then I had McDonald’s chicken nuggies with honey. I am a changed man.

im not sure if im surprised or offended or both from the fact that majority are siding with Joey and Connor "all chicken taste the same" and "white meat is better than dark meat" when it comes to a chicken debate 😭😭😭
Not surprising I think because Western culture terns to go for white meat/breast meat. Professional Chefs have essentially ended this debate before and have almost unanimously voted for dark meat because the key difference in flavor of most meat is fat content which leads to a juicier better tasting product. Chicken tender and nuggets are predominantly made of white meat which makes them less flavorful which is why you need to dump the sauce on it. If you are eating chicken for chicken then you want dark meat, if you are eating for the sole purpose of sauce and easy of eating then you go with chicken tenders because at that point, you could be eating cardboard and it would still be delicious.
White people hate flavour. It useless to argue with them.

I ate cardboard chicken breast steak before, i hate it so much. BUT theres good truffle chicken breast i ate recently, albeit quite expensive.

It sounds like Garnt's main complaint is about some lack of variety, which is strange because he's talking about America, a place with all of the food options. It seems like he's more mad about Connor and Joey's food choices than anything else.
Absolutely surrounded by people that only eat tendies. The U.S. has so SO many more chicken dishes, many of which are dark meat. Most restaurants that aren't fast food often have at least one or two on the menu.

most places have a more options than just chicken tenders. you can use get grilled or some other chicken dish. unless they most went to exclusively fried chicken places like canes.
I don't like ranch, it ain't for me. I used to eat hot sause or vigranette for foods because I'm not a dairy lover, but definitely agree with Connor and Joey, foods are literally about the spices that make up the meal. They enhance it. Reason why meat/dairy substitutes rely on spices and sauses because that's where the taste really comes from.
Yes but no. Sometimes the sauces are just bad, not because they have taste (that's the point) but some sauces totally overpower all the other tastes. Like, imo A1 is a bad sauce. It's not bad tasting per se, it is too strong though.
If garnt doesnt eat it with sauce then technically hes judging just the chicken, im with him here.
I always thought I was the only person ever to not like condiments. Although I usually don't agree with Garnt, I fully support him on the argument of not wanting to put sauce on everything XD I love just eating fried chicken and fries by themselves. It just overpowers the flavor of the fries and the chicken

My girl doesn't eat sauce at all including mayo when we get takeout she asks them to hold the sauce and the places we get takeout from the whole point for me is the sauce I literally get sad if we switch our orders by accident and I taste nothing but dry bread or chicken cooking is hard I think the only thing we agree on is different kinds of pastas I like sweet stuff she likes salty stuff I like everything on pizza she wants the most basic thing on the menu 3 cheese or some boring shit like that when I point out her limited palette she takes offense and copes harder than anyone under the sun
Yep, I also don't like vinegar (as a condiment), mayo (except on burgers), ranch and hot sauce.
I had the chance to try Raisen Canes and boy, I wad hooked, it's been more than 10 years and still miss them.

Garnt would be considered correct from most chefs' standpoints. Chicken skin contains a considerable amount of flavour, and chicken thigh is significantly more fatty and moist (which is because chicken thighs have slow-twitch muscle fibres, while chicken breasts have fast-twitch muscle fibres). The issue is that it can be utterly disgusting to eat if you're not used to the texture of fat or skin. I'm not entirely fond of meat, and chicken thigh is especially unenjoyable. However, I can still admit that Garnt's opinion on chicken is objectively more developed and advanced than Connor's and Joey's. Also, Garnt's right about bone-in affecting the meat. The connective tissue surrounding the bone is filled with collagen that, when cooked, releases into the rest of the dish, improving the flavour, not to mention removing the bone can leave the meat to dry up more quickly.

you guys didn't stop by Atlanta and missed out on the best wings in the US. Go to any gas station wing spot in Atlanta and you'll get amazing wings. Garnt would love it too cause they're usually the smaller wings, and the sauces are 👌

I've had chicken tenders at almost every restaurant I've been to that has them. Unless it's a BBQ, specialty places, some fast food or most bar type places, don't get them. 9/10 they're average at best and mid at worst.
Longhorn Steakhouse has my favorite chicken tenders; the fries, ketchup and seasoning just add to it. 😋🤤

Theres a lot here but ima keep it a buck, Skin on the chicken is WAY better than batter when its cooked well, modt batter mixes are 90% flour then they throw a little extra salt on it, the Skin of chicken meals are superb. Also, as someone who have had many a sauce I can confidently say Ranch is alright but it isn't that great. I eat Ranch with Celery and Carrots but besides that I'd use the sauces intended for their meals. Drenching wings in Ranch makes the wings taste like ranch and that's about it. Chicken tendies are more like snacks than actual meals and I think that should be recognized, just like chicken nuggets. What Joey and Connor was saying suggests that they literally do not taste the chicken until the ranch passes over. Its akin to over salting a meal, you dont even remember much else.

If Im being honest, why would you order wings or thighs for chicken and waffles? The whole point is to eat the waffle with the chicken, and if there’s bone in the chicken that is practically impossible; you have to eat them separately or struggle to cut around the bone.
They're going to the wrong places if they think Canes' is the standard.
Chicken is very different but most of it is because chicken is very sensitive to how it's cooked like fish. The way it's cooked to the oven, spices and sauce, the age of the chicken and how it was harvested all contribute to it's flavour. Take it from someone with heightened sensitivity issues like me who can taste ingredients in food, Connor has a grave mouth, just a mild one so he doesn't seem to taste mild flavours just strong ones. Anyone who can't taste the difference in chicken just have less sensitive taste buds which explains a lot of arguments Connor has with food.

Garnt is right, tendies are such a basic choice. There's more flavor in the dark meat, and sauce covers half of the flavor of the chicken. Taste the meat and the breading seasoning.

I'm with Garnt on this one. Nuggies and Tendies are good but they don't replace a whole piece of a chicken like the thigh, leg, or wing. It's like replacing ribs and steak for just burgers and sausages, it's not the same. Also idk how many hearts I'm going to break with this statement but if your food's quality relies solely on how good or bad the sauce is and not the base food itself it's probably not good food.
why are you going to southern style chicken joints only? get some roasted chicken or bbq chicken if you want something other than tendies or breast?
