We just ate at Magnolia day before yesterday (8/8) - I think you may have been there that day. You were probably leaving when we got there for dinner. Too funny. And yes - FABULOUS. We had not been there in 30 yrs. The seafood over grits was out of this world. Next time you go, book a Ghost Tour - we took our kids about 15 yrs ago - so much fun! Great video!

Great video! We love Charleston and Folly Beach! If we aren’t at Disney we’re in Charleston! Next time you go take a carriage ride with Old South Carriage company! They do a great history tour! Also, try the restaurant Husk, one of my favorites!
Ghost tours in Charleston are amazing and a great way to see some of the buildings and get some very cool history! I've always enjoyed Folly beach! Charleston is def a spring or fall destination!
I like over the top Jen, comfortable bedding is a must! I’m leaving for beach getaway tonight and my car is packed with pillow, sheets, and a duvet. My husband drove down separately with the kids because I had to work so I took advantage of the extra space! So glad you and Scott had a great visit 😊

Love this vlog Jen! As an Atlanta native who has been living on the SC coast for the last 20 years, I love to see vlogs showcasing the beauty of this area! Magnolias is a favorite in Charleston. Would love to see more vlogs like this.

And, I noticed that you were wearing some outfits that I haven't seen before. That white and black dress was very nice. Maybe another unboxing soon? Enjoy your travel adventures. I hope you will share a little bit of your trip to Hawaii with us. I am contemplating going back to Hawaii in the near future. I am about to become an empty-nester, much to my regret. But, my little birdie has decided it's time to fly. So, my plan is to do as much traveling as I would like, when I like. The world is open again and the possibilites are endless. Growing up my Mother took her own sheets, towels and wash cloths when we traveled. My dad finally gave in and bought an RV when they retired. 😊

I live in Greenville area of the SC upstate. Folly is my favorite beach! I have family in Charleston. Try to get to Folly at least once a year. I absolutely love that area.
South Cackalacky. Lived in Charleston 28 years… actually Mt. Pleasant near Isle Of Palms. Spent many weekends on Folly. Charleston is a Foodie’s Mecca . So many excellent restaurants to choose from.next trip try Isle of Palms …Wild Dunes.
That margarita is the best possible way to start a vacation! 😂 The architecture in Charleston is gorgeous!

Great video! I have always wanted to go to the Charleston area. I am so excited for your Hawaii videos - I was there this summer and it is so beautiful! We loved Aulani and the island of Oahu.
Such a lovely getaway! Now you have me mapping the distance from our house in NJ. I feel like a 5-6 hour drive is the sweet spot for road trips for us. Unfortunately this one is close to 12 hours… I’m so glad you enjoyed it and you get to go back!
We always look for an ocean-front condo on Vrbo or AirB&B.... that way you can have a proper kitchen if you choose to prepare food, and I find it more relaxing than a hotel..... We always enjoy that so much! Plus there's a fridge where you can keep wine cool!

Omg my son says the same thing when we go to disney. I take my own sheets and request to remove all bedding before I get there. Then I start cleaning. This is even before the great unpleasantness
Cracking up. Of course you are in traffic in Atlanta. It's why we just moved to Charleston to escape that horrible city! We are so done with the traffic.
I moved to Charleston from Michigan 17 years ago. Ended up marrying a native. We live about 20 miles outside Charleston now, but it’s still fun to go downtown to play tourist. The walking tours are excellent. Also highly recommend the ghost tours. When you return in October, you’ll find the weather much more conducive to walking and exploring the city. St. Michael’s church is beautiful and the Circular Congregational Church is part of Bulldog Ghost tours where they take you inside the cemetery at night. Very fun.

Great travel vlog! Folly Beach looks like my fav SC beach (North Myrtle Beach) the wide beach, the white clouds reflecting in the calm water, the pelicans flying in formation. Love it! And I too, have only ever been to Charleston when it super hot I need to go back in normal weather lol.

Thank you so much for visiting our beautiful state! Folly and Edisto beaches are my absolute favorite. We ate a magnolias after we got engaged at battery Park and it was amazing. You will have to check out battery Park the next time you are in the Charleston area, there are some gorgeous houses around there!

Yes, please to more travel vlogs! I'm so glad you're going back to the Charleston area in October. May and October have been my favorite times to go! Next time, if you'd like an interesting cocktail experience, check out The Gin Joint on Bay Street. They have a Bartender's choice option where you pick adjectives that sound appealing and your drink is made based upon that. It's been years since I was last there (pre-pandemic) but I also remember the pimento cheese dip being A+.

Charleston is one of my favorite places to visit specially in the cooler season. Next time you go you have to try Page's Okra for breakfast(definitely get there early). Everything there is amazing! Also I've never done the walking tours in the day but the night walking haunted tours are amazing. So much history!

Everything is walkable and if you’re looking for a laid back small town it’s lovely! We both remarked there’s not much of a party atmosphere which we like.

We stayed at Folly Beach last fall, in a beautiful condo! Enjoyed Charleston, and Magnolia plantation!
We just went to folly beach! We recently moved to the area. The kids LOVED it. But I’d definitely suggest a canopy for shade(:

I absolutely love Charleston. I was just there in June with my family and we ate at Magnolias as well. The food was delicious. I hope you were able to see Waterfront Park while you were there. It’s the most amazing place to relax and enjoy the view.
We were! Sadly it was a little too warm to spend much time there but next time for sure!
When you said Scott got cookies, I assumed you stopped at a little local bakery. Not oreos!!

We have recently become stationed in Charleston area. We love it so far here! We live in Summerville which is 45 minutes from Folly beach. We have yet to go check out Folly beach and this has inspired us to check it out soon!

I visited Charleston in 1991. Spent 2 days at Folly Beach. It was beautiful. Charleston was a very interesting city. I was staying near the college of Charleston. At the time the city had quite a few run down buildings. locals mentioned that the laws protecting historic landmarks made maintenance very difficult and created a backlog to get things approved. The nighttime could be a tad scary. Of course We were bulletproof so my group walked home from the bars with no worries. The city has really changed now. Folly beach was very quaint and very east coast to me, or at least what I felt east coast beaches were like. Anyway it was definitely different than the beaches I grew up with in the west coast and gulf coast.
The downtown area was spotless and beautiful, at least the historic part which is where we were. Truly enjoyed our time and Folly reminded me more of small central coast of CA beach towns for sure. Can’t wait to go back!

Charleston is only 1.5 hours from my house. We do day trips all the time. Definitely go back in the “fall.” October is much more tolerable.
Please do a full review on this hotel. I’m considering staying there at the end of September.
Definitely visit Charleston in the fall, like October or November. Or early spring March or April. I live an hour from there. Weather is very hot or miss but crowds definitely larger in summer.
Honestly, Jennifer? And I think you'll get this. We have considered it for when we retire and we figured we needed to experience the summer so we didn't get bamboozled into thinking we loved it! That's why yucky weather first. We are SO WEIRD! LOL
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge good thinking though! The worst part about Folly and The Isle of Palms (on the other side of Charleston) is that there is only one small bridge on and off the island so traffic can be terrible on weekends.

Also, fun fact about Folly… that is where Outer Banks is filmed. Recently locals have complained about people coming just for that reason… has gotten quite a bit of attention recently.

Scott has stayed there many times! (For work) and if we ever stay in Charleston we will consider there for sure.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge it was very pretty but then we found out it was haunted as well🤣 I had never been before and I took my mom for her 60th last October. We enjoyed it for our two night stay.
Oh, I hope to hear how the weather is in October. It looks lovely. We always say we could never live anywhere that is more than an hour from a beach. Side note, how are the Georgia beaches?
So if you head about an hour south of where we were you’ll be in Tybee Island area just outside of Savannah and they’re much like this! And almost the exact same drive time from our house.

Just asking, is there pigeons at folly beach? Haven’t been there in like 2 in a half years and I remember when I was little I saw a pigeon and fed it a bit of a waffle cone from my Icecream. I really love pigeons and I wanna feed em and everything that’s my dream
When a glass door shower and commode share a space, I think the shower door should be frosted, right?
Not generally when it’s all in one room with a door. It’s a one person at a time kind of thing.
I understand about the sheets. If I can’t bring my own pillow. I will at least bring a pillow case. I am very sensitive to smells and cannot stand the slightly bleachy smell that hotels sheets have. My question is… do you leave the sheets on between nights? I am always worried my pillow case will leave with housekeeping and so I take it off each day…
I went down and asked them to not clean the room. I was very serious about those sheets not being touched.😂❤️
Also - “trying on” beach communities for future vacations or residence is my kind of research!

Hello, what made you choose folly beach over myrtle beach? I just never heard of it. We recently went to myrtle beach and the beach was private because we rented an Airbnb so it was super clean, no seagulls. I love these kind of videos because it gives me vacation ideas.

Folly Beach is much more of a locals beach than Myrtle Beach and much less “touristy”. Mostly houses not many condos or hotels.
