Exploring An Untouched Abandoned $3,000,000 1970's Colonial Mansion **EVERYTHING LEFT BEHIND**

- This is a house me and my good friend Carlo Paolozza first scouted months ago, but was unsure if it was abandoned or not. after seeing another explorers video of this house, i immediately recognized it, and wanted to see it for myself!
This home was custom built in 1974. in fact it was the first house built on the street. the original owner was a lawyer in the big city. it was first sold in 1986 when the original family relocated closer to downtown.
it was then purchased by it's second owner who would live here until 2008, a Chinese family then purchased it for almost 3 million dollars. for unknown reasons, they left the house completely abandoned with most of it's contents still inside. - Zábava
The last one to leave was the maid. She likely had a contract to stay there for a few months and clean up after the movers packed it up. They moved all the good stuff out. What was left was things they weren’t interested in. Wealthy people routinely throw stuff out that they lose interest in. They never sell it, they just dump it. The maid put the leftovers on display so it didn’t look abandoned and because it was the kind of thing she would do, make the place look pretty. It would have taken a truck just to move all the wine.
The opening shot, and your research, solved two questions I had about this house when Riddim posted his vid. There was a spot on the door frame which appears to be where a mezuzah was affixed. The family must have been Jewish, and they would have taken it with them when they moved. It also explains the kitchen layout; it is common for families who keep a kosher household to have a kitchen with prep areas to keep meats and dairy products separate - hence the two refrigerators and the extensive counter spaces.
Since the house was built in 1974, the antique wavy glass windowpanes (lights) in the dining room must have come from a salvage company when the house was built. This was a spare-no-expense construction,
Another fascinating explore; I hope the plot of land isn’t so large that it succumbs to a developer’s wrecking ball; if the zoning is right, this house could be easily restored as a fine family home.
In the description he describes the home to have been abandoned by a Chinese family, I don't know too many or any Chinese who are Jewish.
Gloria Hanes - That struck me as odd, too. But the damage to the doorframe was very specific; a mezuzah is placed within the top third of the doorframe, on the right hand side, and if there is room, with the top tilted towards the interior, and usually within three inches.
Since that spot is contemporaneous to the video, it seems unlikely that is was left unrepaired - and the kitchen style seems a bit dated. If the last owners were indeed Chinese, perhaps they bought it as an investment and never took up residence? Or perhaps they were Jewish (not unheard of).
@@lgblgb7489 .....Possibly more than one owner?
Gloria Hanes - Possible; the kitchen looks to be about circa 2000 or earlier though.
@@lgblgb7489 where is this house located?
You hit the jackpot of beauty, this time! Those chandeliers! That staircase, the main one! That bathroom downstairs!
This home hit me in the feels, it literally brought tears to my eyes. Everything is so tasteful. I would love to know its story. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤
This is such a stark contrast to the houses of the 60's with horrid outdated sinks bathtubs appliances carpets upholstery and wallpaper
This house is beautifully done, charming and timeless!!
shannabrowneyes, would you mind sharing your memory?
I always wonder what made the owners just leave all of that stuff behind. So sad that they tear down houses as nice as that. It would need very little work to be in perfect condition.
They probably have another fully furnished mansion elsewhere that they decided to stay in. The place looks like it was staged for selling but a place like that wouldn’t be chump change so it just sits and deteriorates while waiting for a sell. If developers buy it it’s going under. What a shame. 😔
Once we were exploring a home we had happened upon by sheer coincidence, and ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING was left behind including the most amazing, and amazingly large model train set which, I'm sure was worth a LOT of money. I was also wondering the same thing. Obviously whoever it was LOVED his model trains. I started looking through a big stack of paperwork and I had found some kind of letter from an attorney I don't remember to whom, nor do I remember most of what it was about, but the part that caught my attention was the attorney stating that the wife had passed on a few years before and when the gentleman that owned the house passed, there were no remaining relatives, NO ONE AT ALL, that could take care of emptying the house and preparing "the estate for sale or auction" and the house was paid for so no bank coming around looking for owed mortgage money or to foreclose. So there the house sat in-I hesitate to say "untouched" as other people had been through the house and totally TRASHED the place. This poor man's belongings were strewn about with no regard for respect nothing. Other people REALLY started to loot the place after I had been there and the train set was stolen and sold for a LOT of $$. (I knew the people who had taken it). It was so sad to think of that poor man dying totally alone that way and not even having ANYONE AT ALL to take care of his belongings.
Could be a bank repossession. They give you so many days to get out then they change the locks so you're not able to get back in.
It's easy to get over your head. The electric bill alone was probably in the 1000s. Sad waist.
OMG those floors alone would be worth salvaging if they could....they are beautiful! nice find Ethan!
Dude, there’s like tens of thousands of dollars worth of furniture and stuff just left behind? Ethan can you get any info on what happened to the family? Was it a foreclosure or a sudden death, a car accident? It just seems really weird that so many things were just left that way.
I know isn't it just craziness how everything is just left behind. I mean if the person died it seems like their family would take care of things and at least get their belongings.
If I had the physical address, I could find the owner, and get details, I don’t even know if this is an old video?
I, too, am wondering the story behind this house. That would be as interesting as all the lovely furnishings, lamps, etc. I mean, really, who just leaves things like this behind? It would be a dream come true to live in such a nice home. If there were maids, of course. Its so large that it would take you all day every single day just to keep it clean. So tastefully done!! How can we find out the story?
Oh my GOODNESS!!! That house is absolutely amazing! I'm very intrigued with why so much quality furniture was left behind. This explore was awesome, but i want answers! What happened to the family? Such a beautiful house to be demolished, it's just not right.
Gosh this hurts my heart. I'd give my left arm and leg to have that house. That kitchen alone. Dang people ought to be ashamed leaving all those antiques.
Maybe they died?
If they were Chinese and went back to China it would’ve been too expensive to ship most of it as it was very heavy furniture.
I like that your attention to detail. Very specifically, the left arm :)
Fabulous house. It feels like a hotel and a home
Lindy Pierce I agree with you
It's very sad that all of the stuff in there could be sold and not destroyed I would love some of the furniture
Oh that kitchen sink was wicked cool love it ♥️ 22:34 TWO toilet paper rolls ...JACKPOT!! Lol
And free electricity 😃
Love it Ethan great job. Grandma
Awww
3 O.
Not that long
Aww. Ethan is a good guy! We love him, Miss Tramel.
Once again another incredible mansion. So big. From the Chandelier, Light Fixtures, Crown Molding, The 2 Kitchens, Bathrooms, Indoor Pool, Spiral Staircase is so Way Cool. Just can't believe the Owners left so much behind. Neat Basement & Wine Cellar. The Safe really has me intrigued. I wonder if there was someone in there while you all were there and filming. Kind of scary. I do respect your Professionalism and Candor about the items in the house. And being so Respectful of it all. Thank-You for another Fantastic Video. Take Care, Much Love For Your Health & Safety. And Your What's Up You Guys. Peace To You Always!
I just love this house, that kitchen is a dream, there is nothing that I didn't love. Great house, thanks
Where is this house?
I don't think it's been years since someone lived there. Why is the furn sink and everything so clean?
Yes the house was clean, maybe they were afford good money for it. Things that I think we will never know
Such a beautiful home! I would love to have all that counter space in my kitchen, I could do without the bugs though - hearing them crunch under your feet gave me the heebie-jeebies. Another great job Ethan.
Oh Ethan, What a beautiful home. I think I saw Carlo and Terry explore this one too. Move in ready, beautiful furnishings. Just wow. Thanks for the explore. On to the next, Peace.
Can you imagine changing the light bulbs in that chandelier?? And it looked like they were all working. From the original stuff in the basement I would have loved to see this one all decked out in its 1970s glory. What a mix of decades. Still a very nice house. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
The house is beautiful but something weird about it.
In the basement, that was a wicker Rattan chair. Very expensive! I love it!!
That yellow stove downstairs is actually an oven on the top!! That thing is definitely old! Love it!!❤
I had a white oven almost identical like it except not a self cleaning oven. It was great during holidays and keeping plates warm for later.
This has to be my favorite find so far on your channel! So weird that I felt a connection to it?? Maybe the furnishings or how it feels like someone had only a day to pack up and leave? Just gorgeous! I hope its renovated & updated rather than demolished!
This place made for entertaining on a large scale....given the size of the kitchen AND then there's another kitchen! Basement party zone complete with disco ball over a dance floor! Pool area also made for entertaining with the balcony space above it.
And space for live-in staff.
You could totally have like, 2 maybe 3 separate parties going on in there at the same time and not even disturb one another!
Wow, what a house!!!!! So sad that they spent that much money and it sits to fall apart.
Ethan Minnie🌹I know NO FINER EXPLOROR THAN YOU! Such a find Ethan 🌹❤🌹🧨🧨and what I love about your narration, is the fact that you know the correct names of these beautiful items found in the houses/mansions!
To Mrs. Minnie,
Sweet Lady, you have done one fantastic job raising Ethan🌹❤he is very kind and considerate and very gentle. He also has a tough side which I'm sure he gets from Mr. MINNIE👍🤠
Thank you Sweet Nathan for sharing this with me. With love from Oklahoma, Creek Haven ❤🌹❤🌹❤🌹
You're so respectful Ethan. Good on you.
Unbelievably amazing! It’s massive!Heartbreaking that it may be torn down. Thanks for the tour!
I got a bad feeling when you entered the little girls room with the bed made and all. With all the girls toys left there it almost feels like the family wanted to forget something. Possibly a childs death? It is definitely a beautiful home though.
That's funny, I had that same thought when I saw the girl's room. It's like she died and they just left the room like it was when she was still alive.
@@YTjennifer I felt the same. I hope that whoever it was that left knows that whoever took care of everything followed through with the wishes of the former owner. And Ethan I am enjoying your channel immensely. I also felt this was a home well cared for, and to think of the physical furniture being destroyed is very sad. When you see such nice things that people don't want or know what to do with I think of people who have no furniture, made beds that no one sleeps in. I wonder if the company's who tear them down give them to someone. I had a co-worker that ate a can of tuna with crackers everyday because she was saving to buy her son a bed. Watching these videos I have seen a lot of beds, I imagine ones that have been sitting for long periods might have damage to the mattresses. Some of the furniture seen is worth a lot of money and completely worth refinishing.
The place is awesome I seen this place on two other video. Thats crazy they left all that behind.✌👍
I love how out of all the explores I watch you always seem to do the most research and tell us appreciate it stick here in the USA iowa wished I could explore
I just found your channel last week and subscribed. You do such a great job, and I love it when you actually know the history. And you are respectful. Seems history means nothing to people anymore .Sad. Such a beautiful home. I make sure to always watch your commercials too. Great job 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
How could anyone bulldoze such a beautiful home down?! The fact it's still furnished, with such beautiful furniture too, is beyond me! So much wow in this find! ❤️😍
When people realize the mold from hidden water damage is poisoning them, they are SO sick they don't care about their belongings. I've met hundreds of people who have "mold toxicity" from the drywall that gets moldy after just 2 days of being wet. It's usually inside the walls, under toilets or showers/tubs, behind dishwashers and washers, under skylights.
"Beautiful" doesn't matter if the interior walls are infested with mold. Selling a house like this is a nightmare.....disclosure is required in many states and remediation is more costly than the value of the home.
Stachybotrys is SO poisonous that everything in the home is considered contaminated and needs to be destroyed. If these people take those items with them, the poison follows them.
Susan F. That is all so true! I’ve posted that before. The looters that break in and take items from these abandoned houses are at risk of exposure and so are the explorers. Please guys, if you have to go into these places at least wear N95 masks for protection to keep the mold spores out of your lungs. Probably protective covering over your clothes also. Many times there is water damage and therefore the mold.
Where was the mold? I didn't see any.
@@lanna7917 water damage above white French doors. Whenever water touches drywall, mold starts to grow. Often not visible until tearing walls open.
@@lanna7917 also basement utility room smells musty, according to his comments.
@@2ndChanceAtLife Oh you're right sorry I see it now. I didn't think mold would be such an issue in Canada. I guess it is...
Hey Ethan! Incredibly amazing mansion, wow. I'm totally blown away here. Great job on your video. Much love from Washington
Great Explore! I've seen this house before but your video was great, the detail was impeccable and much appreciated. This home is so beautiful, so sad to see it empty but as others mentioned, you could see mould starting which I'm sure is part of the reason it's empty, but hard to say. Thanks again for such a great video.
Love this house it has so much character and charm... they don't make them like this anymore... thanks for the tour💛💫💛
Disney figurine on the table, Cinderella and her prince, "Prince Charming"
Beautiful house. Who ever built and made choices in decor has exquisite taste.
I hope it will not be demolished.
Thank you so much Ethan. Another amazing house. I love your respectful and well documented videos. 👍
I watched this home from another YT... he was so fast... I could not enjoy it. Thank you for everything you do!!
You're right, someone else did tour this house, and went thru it super quick...much better tour for sure
Awesome video - thanks for sharing it !!!
As already mentioned, fabulous kosher kitchen!
Great job as always, Ethan! ❤
Hey Ethan. Such a beautiful house. Love it. Awesome job. Thank you for the share
Awesome home! I cannot imagine leaving all of the furnishings in a home so beautiful and then tearing it down?
This is a Gorgeously Epic house not only did I enjoy it but loved loved loved it thank you Ethan
Hi Ethan, I love this house, just beautiful, and I want to thank you for sharing it with us. I know that I saw this before with Carlo, and Dave of freakologey. Love your videos, keep up the great work, and I'll be watching!!
Great house, Ethan. I really like this place, would be a heartbreak to demolish it. Thanks
What a beautiful quality home. The staircase is so stunning!!
Love the door knocker!
Gorgeous place! I just love seeing old homes for the details and construction!
This house is absolutely incredible .Thank you so much for sharing.
Such a beautiful home. So sad it will get torn down.
Beautiful! I love the main kitchen, the retro one downstairs was super cool too!! Thank you @Ethan Minnie and "What is up you guys?"
That’s a dope house Ethan. Would be a castle for me. Enjoyed your explore. Thanks 😃👍
This is one of my favorites so far!! Good job Ethan! 💖
Another nice presentation, thank u 4 sharing
I just found your program on CZcams - ADDICTED THANKS ETHAN!
"Holy shit" it's beautiful Ethan!! Another great find!
A little tip about artwork: MOST of the time if the piece was an actual painting, there would be no glass on the frame. Also, you could lightly run your fingers over it and feel some dimension, that would be a painting. Just a little something to keep in mind. Those are my tricks I use while hunting artwork/antique pieces. Hope it helps.
I just love this place & the furnishings. My kind of place. Thanks as always.
I love the lights and the Chinese vase the furniture is old ❤️🐈 Melbourne Australia I m all ways hoping you'd find a panic room
Good Job, Ethan, Stay Safe. I Love To Listen To Your Commentary.
Could be the owners are deceased, maybe family has issues who gets what. Could be in probate court for judge to decide. Could be the reason why this expensive furniture is still there. Just a thought. Great explore.
Those large oriental vintage rugs are to die for! Seeing homes like this really make you want to know the story! I am very impressed that you never take anything, it has got to tempting, especially knowing that the items inside are going to be demolished. I don't know if I could have that self- control (especially with those gorgeous rugs!). Thank you for sharing these videos with us. Please stay safe!!
This is a great house, Ethan. Good job. I really enjoyed this exploration. 😋
thank you so much Ethan for sharing so enjoy exploring with ya !
That KITCHEN!!!!! 🤩🤩 Super cool house Ethan!! Great find!!
The yellow stove in the basement is def from the 70's we had a green one. The top stove is not a microwave, it's a warmer or low volt stove. Mircowaves came out in the early 80;s I think.
Microwaves came out in the mid-70's. I had one of those early tanks.
@@shariys1 I had one of the original Amana RadarRanges. You could park a car inside it.
@@shariys1 My Grandma did too. After she passed we were going to give it to church with the rest of the furnishings and we were told that the old microwaves leak microwaves and are not safe.
WOW Ethan I loved this one!! Great job! I think there is a squater in that house..I'm all for that as long as they respect the home and don't destroy it! I also loved the antiques especially the cloisonne floor vases, u don't see those often...Thanks for the video and u are such a cutie :)
I saw this home a couple of days ago videoed by someone else. I remembered that beautiful girl’s room with bed made and so immaculate. Beautiful house. Thanks.
Love watching you're videos man keep up the Great Work !!!
Spectacular well maintained kitchen, a joy to see. Thank you Ethan
My dream house all the way!
An museum should own this great place.I love 1970's houses with all the original decor's e.t.c.
Ethan Minnie thanks for another great house tour, stay safe.
What a gorgeous house, can't imagine why anyone would leave all þheir furniture behind, another great video Ethan, keep up you're great work. Love from Scotland x
Omg. The beautiful antiques left behind! I could never do what you do. I'd be loading up a truck with all the antiques and would get arrested! Lol. Thanks for a great tour.
Well done! Thank you very much for this interesting House, you show us!👍💯
I'd love to have that,Why demolition It?😱I've been homeless sleeping on the streets. And I see this,I'd love it❤❤❤
Smak! Great show. Good job.
Hey Ethan from NY.. this is my favorite by far. This family really had great taste and very family oriented. It is always a mystery as to why the beautiful furniture and other belongings were left behind. The chandeliers were the most beautiful out of all your houses. Great job as always!!
There’s some awesome stuff sitting in this house. Some big $$ items
A grand place and the owners had grand taste as well if it gets torn down too sad thank you for showing this one.
Thank's for sharing this gorgeous house. Could be fixed up. And lived in. Have a great evening.
I love that kitchen ❤️ thank you for another great video
Great video thanks for the upload much love to you
What a beautiful home and all of the wonderful things left that’s a shame you did amazing job thank you for sharing 😊
Great explore. My favorite house. These people had good taste in furnishings
The shower in the master bedroom’s ensuite is massive - I love it!! The master wall-in closest I’d also massive!
Love this one so gorgeous thanks for doing that.
One of my favorites, great job 🤗😊
That is so beautiful would love to know the story behind this house.
The kitchen on the first floor was probably renovated in the late 80s. The kitchen you found in the basement and all the cabinetry was the houses original.
Yes, definitely has a late 80s feel!
Ethan I love your videos and you find some pretty amazing places.
Holy Hell! The kitchen is huge!! I love the kitchen ..... especially the tiles on the floor
Beautiful home . Doing what you do best! Keep it up Ethan
Oh my gosh what a beautiful home I just love that kitchen
Really loved this big ol house . Thank you for making these videos . I know I really enjoy going back in time ..lol. I use to have a wicker swing just like the one in basement. They are back in style now .
I had mine in 1979.. 😉
Fantastic video!
I think that has to be the neatest, cleanest abandoned home I've seen yet. It was a beautiful home and to think it will be torn down is a shame. That house looks like it could be moved in to with a little cleaning and cosmetic touches. This was a great find.
Wow!..so much valuable furniture and things left behind 😳
What a terrible waste wonder what’s happened to the people who lived their I can’t believe all the furniture left thank you for sharing your videos Ann
The piano!! Oh my gosh I'd give anything for that!
Love the kitchen, the two "stone" bathrooms and the wooden floors! Did you notice all the shoes in the main entry? Also I love how you know the Disney princesses, so sweet!
What an amazing home! I’d just sweep up a little and move right it as is.
