I totally agree, i thought Millie and Ncuti where great i love them both, but the story was a mess, why would Sutekh the god of death care at all about Rubys parents?. if anything where The Doctor came from and their parents are way more important than Rubys. It was just dumb.

Forgot to mention that Mrs. Flood was dressed like Romana I, too. That was the highlight for me, but only because I love Romana I. Will need to bring that bit up again with Dan and talk about what it could mean.

I will never understand how anyone could watch Ncuti and think he is in any way an actor... I've seen amateurs in local theatre presentations that could act him out of existence.
Oh Eric. You seem so broken at about 23 mins in. But i get it, i think you voiced all the things i had issues with in my podcast review. Because im an eternal optimist (or incredibly stupid) i hold a remaining vestige of hope that the next season will clear up a lot of seemingly stupid from this episode. I think 73 Yards is still my favourite from the season, but a lot of this really fell at the last hurdle.
73 Yards is by far my favorite. I watched the finale again after I did this, and my thoughts didn’t change much, but there are a couple of things that may evolve into something more interesting.
Guys if anybody is secretly the Rani, its Mel. She has the experience with that disguise😂 But for real, did you see how similarly Mrs. Flood was dressed to Romana in the Ribos Operation? Actually made me think she could be a gaurdian over Romana. Unfortunately i'm kind of on the same page with thinking maybe nothing gets a payoff anymore
Yes! I noticed that but in my delirium forgot to mention it- what I didn’t notice was that Mrs flood has been dressing like companions. Saw someone online post photos. So it’s a message about his companions. A taunt perhaps or something more.

They go through the effort to call it “season 1” so new viewers are more likely to jump on board, and the penultimate cliff hanger name drops a villain from a nearly fifty year old episode.
I notice across the breadth of the internet with nearly all DW review epsiodes what people like are often the characters, effects and build ups. However, rarely is anyone satisfied witth the narrative and surely that is the most important necessity to telling a great story. By the way things DW needs to get rid of... 1. Sonic screwdriver 2. Sonic sunglasses 3. Magic rope 4. Magic gloves 5. Excess of characters with no development 5. Cop out endings 6. Overt emotions. DW is not a soapie or certainly shouldn't be 7. Remove all the WOKE and preaching at audiences 8. Disney (yes even if that means no more Who) 9. Shift the emphasis on CGI. It shouldn't be the priority everyone gives it. and need to do 1. Answer mysteries with good narrative solutions 2. Bring back proper scifi 3. Explain 14. He has to die. A Doctor on Earth retired and not helping out. A shocking lazy we don't care aprroach from RTD 4. Make it British 5. Change Unit back into a secretive organsiation (near impossible now I would say) 6. Give the show a rest or alternatively have 13 episode seasons. It needs time out. Best thing about this reboot: Millie Gibson.
What do you mean "make it British" its produced by a Welsh company, the showrunner is Welsh, The Doctor is Scottish the companion is from Manchester. How much more British do you want it.
@@RobDW24 Fair points but simply having the big wigs on staff be British does not mean they will bring a British tone or vibe to a series. Personally, I think the Disney association has brought about a huge tonal shift towards one that is more akin to Americanisms. DW has never felt so more Marvel than this season.
