Hey folks, in this video we camp at the creekside camp overnight for the first time.
We continue to build a bed, set up a canvas back wall, cook steak on a rock and enjoy the first night camping at the creekside camp!

Hey Folks!
Super fun outing at the Creekside Camp.
More to come soon, Fall Hot Tent Trip next???
Love the content Joe, however winter is coming! Where's the Fort?
Happy belated Birthday Joe!
Hard to get those military biviy’s now. Super jealous. Good trip bro. 👊
Looks like you could have used a hand with the tarp .
Hot tarp tent or teepee would be cool.
Tie rope to a throwable peice of wood. Tie the other end of the rope to the tarp. Throw wood over ridge pole, and use rope to pull the tarp up to the ridge pole. Like a bear bag.
Love the video, Joe.
Or he could of tied the rope to middle whole while it was already up there and thrown rope over ridge pile and just untied his to ends.. I wondered if anybody else was watching end just kinda SMH.. lol
great minds think alike.
good thing hes a young'un. im old.
almost painful to watch
@@stephenwismer5876 lol I was being nice but ok it really was.
You should build a 2nd level under your bed to act as a 2nd bed/shelf.. Especially since its so damp and wet. It'll help keep your stuff dry.
I was thinking that too!
Firewood storage
THIS is why I watch this channel; BUSHCRAFT !
Epic, Joe. A creekside camp is hard to beat! Glad you like the tarp :D
I love Joe's videos but I don't get this build. That thing is giant and built in a swamp. But it is fun to watch. And at 23 minutes I was lmao. He looked like a tiny kid sitting on a giant chair with his feet dangling. I'll keep watching. I want to see how this turns out!
Definetly no comparison to older video's, that's what happens when the money starts rolling in.. Everyone else
suffer's lol!
@@TicTacdoe such an excellent point. I can think of many immediately. Must be nice to have that issue
Howdy Joe
Nice to see its still happening mate i see you'v found the high roof and platform good ,and rightly so you Get the full benifit of the fire reflection and The heat rising to the roof ,good skills ,warm and a good sleep.
Cheers
@@TicTacdoe I think it's probably the opposite, money not rolling in as much as it used to. Market research is showing bushcraft trends are on the decline now that the social media blow up is starting to settle. Sounds irrelevant until you consider the influence it has on YT channels like Joe's .
I don't think any bushcraft content creator is going to be able to make a career on CZcams anymore within the next 5 years.
@@comedian0338 Good point!
I love that you can make a shelter, and campsite anywhere!!! That's awesome!!! You always come up with unconventional ideas!!! And cooking your steak on a stone, that was soooo cool!!! I absolutely love your random mix of content!!!
AWWW YEAH!!!! LOOKING GOOD!
I’ve never seen a shelter with a cathedral ceiling !!! 😳 You rock Joe !!! I hope the snow doesn’t blow in. That’s what makes your videos fun. See ya on the next one.
I like the fact that the site ia not the ideal place for a camp. It just shows you that you can camp anywhere. The adventure lies in making your camp comfy, no matter the obstacles. Good one, Joe!
Gotta love the genuine intros, always makes me smile.
Joe the Real Deal Robinet. Thanks for the Saturday video.
Ok, 23:11... this is a guy who is well acquainted with his video equipment. That next couple of seconds was hilarious. Well done, Joe!
My son been watching you since he was 12 years old , he’s 16 now and still watches
You build the coolest forts in the world, Joe! Love your videos, brother. Keep on keepin' on.
Now would be a good time to dig a ground stove before it freezes .
Basically a french drain type tunnel to the outside of the shelter covered by small timber to ventilate the smoke outside so you could throw another tarp on the other side to make a basic a frame teepee.
Massive fan Joe! Me and my dad I’ve been watching your video through covid spend days watching your videos! Appreciate and love all your effort for the videos!
I like being up off the ground. In this video, the fire was in a place that provided heat the shelter retained that heat and provided protection from snow or rain. I have seen shelters on the side of mountains. Not my camping choice. Each person must decide what level of survival skills they wish to practice or just try! This was a good fun video to watch Thank you, Joe.
Hey joe big fan all the way from Ireland, I was wondering if you would ever consider making like a outdoor survival basics guide with shelter, types of firewood, orienteering and all that fun stuff. Would be super useful for noobs such as myself. Much love brother
Very good idea I would enjoy that too and it would be super useful.
Agree with this
your honesty in your build approach is refreshing. Sure, tie string to tarp, throw string over ridge pole pull tarp over makes sense, but thats just some monday morning quarterbacking right there. keep up the good work..
Really liked the extra quick shots added into the morning part of the video
Joe that camp and STEAK LOOKS AWESOME can smell the STEAK FROM HERE YUM IT IS GREAT!!!
Cedar posturepedic!! Epic joeism for the book
Digging the camp. you gotta be looking forward to some of that ground water draining/freezing
Joe is back with the nature vibes 🙏
I like it before I watch it because I know I'm going to enjoy it. 👍
I love getting baked or drunk and watching your videos man
dude you are absolute precise with that ax been saying that for a long time...straight up pinpoint surgical for the most part...def the best dressed outdoor person on youtube haha
i cant get enough of your videos,,i have to pull myself away from them to actually get out and get into the wild myself lmao,,,great job man
nice to see you back in the bush doing your thing again.
I feel like I'm waiting to see a Giant from Skyrim to come back and kick Joe out of its base along with a Mammoth! Lol
The big comfy couch build is hilarious Joe. Enjoying this one.
Fall is the perfect time for camping
Yeah! Soggy bottom boy is back in his swamp! Been waiting for this!
Looking forward to seeing the camp progress. Thanks Joe. Stay well to all.
West Virginia, USA, here. girl scouts taught us to tie a small rock w/ light weight string and pitch THAT over the top dont cut it and tie it to the heavier stuff then attach it to tarp.
just do one side then the other, and then you can pull the trap over that way w/ the heavier rope already tied to
Give these girls a heart Joe. They gotcha.
@@freeheel748 why thank you. no ones ever said about me on here before. im old and i camped all my young life w/ my mom. all over the desert so. west. i also was a scout, and in later life did living history, and also did rendezvous until i got stove up. i learned A LOT of cool stuff. i can bake a pound cake in a dutch oven. IN a fireplace or a fire pit. im good at cooking over an open fire.
35 minutes well spent. Thanks Joe!
I’m learning so much from you, Joe... Thanks for everything & keep making these videos!😋👌
Nice Stormy Kromer
Finally something good to watch on CZcams. Thanks for the great content joe
I've been a fan for a long time but dang, this is the most unsheltered shelter ever! Watching you struggle with something so simple to do was tough! This is build a stretch!
Lol, thats what people said about the fort in the early stages too...not too mention the people screaming about the firepit rocks hahaha...no worries man, certainly not struggling with anything out there, having quite a lot of fun actually.
Stick along to see it take shape if you like, this is literally the 2nd ti.e ive been out there😃
This comment just doesn't seem to be striving to get people to enjoy the outdoors. Seems more along the lines of trying to spoil someone elses fun in the outdoors
As long as you're having fun that's what its all about right! I'll definitely be watching the progress(always do) and I did watch the Fort videos as well! Enjoyed this video as well, don't get me wrong!
@@kurtz260 No sir not at all, just being honest!
@@kurtz260 I guess it did come across as pretty negative. Im a fan(from way back), and Ill definitely be watching the progress on this build.
Hey Folks... always enjoy your productions Joe! Thanks for all the hard work you do to bring them to us! #keepitburning Brother
“Cedar posturepedic”🤣🤣🤣 , love it! Really nice set up, enjoyed this video, looking forward to seeing the walls built.
Fun shelter... great video... cheers Joe!
It didn't look so tall until you put the tarp on, it's coming along nicely though, can't wait to see how it holds up in the winter, be safe and have fun
Watched the show again, I thought for sure it would be colder🍶🥢🥩. The weather has really cooled down significantly here in Cali Big Joe, “The California Golden Bear is calling for your return.”🤟🏾🐻BTW your ink is down, badass!!!~MLRespect&Aloha Your Boy Duke&Ohana.💪🏾🤎🤙🏾
I always enjoy your videos! Thanks Joe.
Looked like fun. Can't wait to see the snow come in.
I was watching you hang the Tarp, when all of the sudden the Spiderman theme came to mine...LOL. Sweet camp!
Well done Joe. Looking forward to the next video 👍👍👍🇵🇭
Great video again Joe! Thank you! 👍😁
Love the build!
Joe’s life insurance company did NOT approve of 4:03 🤣
That fireplace is very a la Nessmuk!
Lets go a new camp and a new adventure :D
Congratulations on 1.5m Joe. Fun unique shelter
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS JOE.
Elmer just called... he wants his hat back. 😁
I love watching the videos man, you never dissapoint. I'm actually going on my first solo trip to start my own camp next weekend thanks to you. I hope you and the fam stay safe, much love.
That's awesome, good luck
Good job Joe! Keep them coming.
Cedar posturepedic, awesome!!
i loved the timelaps at the end!
You the man Joe
Thanks Joe, really enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing. Steak looked good.
Joe, I love this inventive build you’ve got. Thanks to you, TA Outdoors, and Scrambled O (I hope he makes more videos) I started my journey in bushcraft and anything outdoors years ago. Now days I’m hooked to a machine and can’t make it to the beautiful outdoors which I can truly call home. When I get a transplant I’m going to head back out there and give it my all.
Keep up the amazing things you’re doing. I’m loving this build, and would love to see more!
I would have just peed off the balcony Joe,it may keep the bears and the rest of the critters from sleeping in your bed while your gone lol.Just kidding and thanks for the ideas to camp in a wet area.
Enjoy your vids but have a question. Why did you make the roof so tall.
It's coming together very well Joe! Looks like you had quite a comfortable sleep up on the platform! Looking forward to seeing more videos from here!
Congratulations, you've built a sail. I hope it's not windy and rainy when you sleep in that.
I understand a lot of months have gone by but I wanted to know how Autumn is in regards to her eye. Has it improved somewhat?
Young Joseph is agile like a cat 🐈. Good idea I'm gonna try and build my self a semi permanent shelter next week
I really like this series! I like your location!
I'm not tall so I would be thinking about a dozen ways to make a quick but sturdy ladder to give me more options for the high ceiling. Made use of a "y" branch as a ladder to tie rope to that tree with the spider. Lot of variations of ladder when you have quality rope. Also would be more comfortable eating without your feet dangling over the edge.
Steak looked wonderful. Best part of being creative in nature is a well earned meal and comfortable sleep.
At 23:10 that steak looked so good even the camera had to adjust itself to have a second look haha 😄
Awesome video I enjoy watching all of them. I'm from New Zealand and camping, fishing and all water activities are very much part of our culture. I love camping , going Bush as we call it over here. I love learning everything survival and your doing a great job of teaching it, thanks heaps. 🙂🙂
Love all of your videos, Keep it up!
You know you have a good spot when you get to take a Polaris Ranger on a drive, then canoe for a bit just to get to the spot.
Such a lucky man to be able to construct and then enjoy a camp in nature. Really enjoy your videos
Joe, you should try cooking your steak over coals and just coat that sunbitch with coarse kosher salt. I'm talking an unhealthy looking amount. If you get a full sear it is not too salty. The two main "secrets" of top rated steakhouses are that they age their beef and they salt the ever living crap out of them and cook them on extremely high heat to develop a crust.
Id love to see more content like this, updates on a returnable shelter. Alot of fun makes me want to get out there again!
Thank you
Beautiful scenes today, all you work is making me hungry for a steak!
There is no way it's gonna keep rain or snow off of you with it being so high.
Rain doesn't always come from on direction and even if it did, it would still hit you.
But I do look forward to being proved wrong 🙂
You won't be proven wrong, I like Joe, but that shelter is useless.
@@jonhamilton5789
I agree with you. This whole build seems to be moronic…
Due to this huge tarp in “mainsail” configuration, he probably will be on the move as soon as strong
winds kick in - just saying.
Remember when people told boss of the swamp his ice box absolutly would NOT work without a fan. He smartly didn't listen to anyone and didn't add a fan. It works fantastic.
@@alexandervalaris72 boss of the swamp, need to check him out 👍
@@thomasgold-1000 you dont need the tarp close to you. Hes has other videos where he places the tarp high up and it protects him. Plus the bivvy is weather proof.
Joe's Step two is peppermint tea ☕
Enjoyed it Joe
God bless!Awesome video!
Hi joe loved the vid you’re awesome, love to your family love from england xxx
Winter is coming Joe!☃️ Great video buddy!
Thanks.
Yes, you dd a good job on that spoon/chisel 😊I enjoyed the video 👍
I love the building videos Joe always fun to watch
Joe! Now, you know, you shouldn't break wood across your knee. Great video
Awesome video. Took me way back. The oatmeal at the end was epic. Me and my boys are going out next weekend and this is what we need. Thanks Joe give the family a hug from Florida!
This shelter looks great, can't wait to see the final version of it 😀
I love that spot you found Joe. I wish I could just relax and spend the night in the woods like you do. Fun different shelter you made. Looking forward to more of the build. Take care.
Note to self ""retrieve hat before starting fire"! LOL
I appreciate your gift for teaching. Thank you for sharing.
Big love ,big fan .😍
Dandy camp dude. Can't wait to see how deep that snow comes up to the bed area. Should be a good one 🔥🔥🔥
cool
