- This is just a collection of pictures from when i rebuilt my KX250. I wanna state out that i do not own any rights to the music i used on this video.

This brings back memories. I did this one time with my 97 125cc yamaha yz. It was sold the same day i went riding it. Somebody just came up to me. Bought 3 years before and was riding a lot. Sold for the same price i bought it for. Sounds like a good deal to me and it's a save bike to pass on like this. Just the way i got it.

Nice rebuild mate and dat music tho ha. I just bought myself the very last of the KX250's here in Aus, an '08 model KX. Im about to go through the very same process as you did. But ill probably paint my swing arm too. Getting harder to find aftermarket goodies and bling for these beasts.

i had rebuilt a similar bike . mine was a 2002, from what i see everything is the same ( these years were the L series). my linkage was pretty fucked too, but i didnt have to cut it put thankfully . just the ID of where the shock bolted through was very oblonged . but your transmission brings a question to mind. did somebody replace your clutch basket at some point in time? it looks like there was no wear on it and with your dogs as worn as they were i'd imagine that would notch the hell out of it .
What kind of paint did you use on the frame, I like how it turn out and would like to do the same thing to mine!
How is the piston holding up?
Tøff og clean sykkel ! eier selv en kx 250 2003 og tenker litt på gå gjennom samme prosessen som deg :) hvor mye kostet restaureringen totalt ?
+Egil Hede hmmm.. nei si det :) tipper på det gikk på rundt 6-7000 i deler, men så måtte jo jeg koste på girkassa, og det blir fort dyrt. men det er snakk om utrolig mye små summer da.. lakk, fett, lakkfjerner, sandpapir osv, så ble sikkert 9-10 lapper i alt. men.. hobby er dyrt, og det var utrolig gøy! du lærer å kjenne sykkelen tvers gjennom, og veldig godt å vite at absolutt alt er i orden ned til momentet på hver eneste skrue;) sykkelen går som juling den nå, og som sagt, jobben var utrolig gøy. hobby er dyrt!

Mam pytanie Mam kawasaki kx 125 91 rok i nie moge kupic a w zasadzie nie ma w komplecie uszczelek uszczelki na rozpolowienie i zastanawiam się czy musi byc uszczelka na rozpolowienie czy tylko silikon
i have the exact same bike and i love it. Does anyone else have a problem with the choke control on the carb not wanting to stay in the up position? When i want to use the choke for most starts, the little black control slider won't stay in the up/on position. Any ideas out there?

my kx got the same clutch problem, the clutch basket tutches the gear of the whater pump, how do you fix it?
there is supposed to be a thin but pretty wide washer behind the basket. check for it. it goes on after the 2x needle bearings, and before the basket.

Anthony Keeney they where on the bike when i bought it😊 only thing i had to change was the pad pin, and then clean it out

could I do this withouta case splitter and a garage
Willyham well.. i would never do any kind of work, espesialy engine and suspensjon, outside, if that is what you mean? a clean workspace is very important when it comes down to it. the splitter is pretty important. im sure there are ways around it, but few id recomend.
I have a work bench in my basement but i could not bring the whole bike down.

The plastics are the original set from the L-series. (1999-2002) just color wise i swapped the numberplate into green, and the fork guards to black.
