- In this video we try Japanese street food in Tokyo! There are several markets and pedestrian zones to visit in the city, but on this particular day, we decided to go to Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街) which is the longest shopping street in the city, and also a good place to try street food in Tokyo.
Because we decided to visit on a Monday morning, we found that many of the places were not open, but we still managed to find some Japanese food to try, and many of the dishes were completely new to us.
Of course, we also had our friend Rob join us on this adventure since we were travelling in Tokyo together. You can find his channel here: / bloggeries
But now let's dive into the street food! Here is a complete list of the Japanese dishes that we tried during our visit to Togoshi Ginza
1) Korokke (コロッケ): this is a Japanese croquette that can be made with a mixture of meat, seafood or vegetables / ¥ 130-370
2) Melonpan with cream and fruit: this is a sweet and fluffy bread cut in half and filled with cream and fruits like mandarins / ¥ 320
3) Oden (おでん): this is a Japanese dish that is very popular during the winter months. It is a broth with a lot of ingredients such as tofu, radishes, egg, fish paste, etc. / ¥ 320
4) Doughnut: we found a place called Floresta that sold cute doughnuts in the form of animals like cats and dogs. ¥ 180-200
5) Melonpan (メロンパン): this is a sweet bread that bears the name 'melon' because of its shape, but it does not have any melon inside. They sell various flavours such as chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel. / ¥ 180
6) Japanese Whiskey: we ordered a Suntory whiskey with soda to finish the day. / ¥ 400
7) Fried Chicken: we also ordered a plate of fried chicken to share, but it was already towards the end of our visit and after a few whiskeys, I can not remember the price - maybe about ¥ 600-700.
And that concludes our Japanese street food tour in Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街), Tokyo. We hope you enjoyed this video, and that it gave you some ideas of what you can eat in Japan!

Japanese Street Food Tour | Eating in Togoshi Ginza, Tokyo 🍢 Travel Video Transcript:
we have another street food video coming your way. Today we are visiting Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街) which apparently is the longest shopping street in Tokyo. 1.3 kilometers over 400 shops. So this should be exciting. We brought our appetite. We purposely skipped breakfast so let's go eat Japanese street food. Yes.
Oh my goodness so of course we have the bros. Look who is back again for some Japanese street food. Are you hungry my friend? I'm really hungry. And I hope we find some good food. I thought this was going to be more like a Pedestrian street. Yeah. Yes.
Same here. But it is just kind of a there is a decent amount of traffic I have to say. There is a lot of traffic. I mean no foot traffic but there is a lot of real traffic.
Alright let's go in search of Tokyo Street Food.
Got the goods. Yeah. So this is our first street food (Korokke - コロッケ) item here in Tokyo, Japan. So I'm going to unveil here. Check this out. It is a fish. With its tail. Breaded fried fish (Korokke - コロッケ). Breaded fried fish. I've got the shrimp over here. A little shrimp-y.
It kind of started out slow and we might be on Japanese television. And that last stall was filled with interesting characters and good flavors. So all in all just a fun time. It sure was so that concludes our Japanese street food tour. And we will see you with more Japanese food and travel content soon. Ciao for now.
This is part of our Travel in Japan video series showcasing Japanese food, Japanese culture and Japanese attractions.

People, do not watch when hungry. Eat before you click on these videos 😎😎 I love this
So true! I am trying to stop snacking as much and have decided to save this video to my 'watch later' list for a time when I'm already eating an actual meal 😂💜
@@secretdiaryofafoodie damn wish I'd thought of doing that
@@secretdiaryofafoodie I'm too impatient
You guys are so convivial, it made me feel like I was with you guys, walking through Togoshi Ginza... loved it ... see you in the next vid.
As always so interesting, you enjoy your food. Thank you
Thank you guys for such a high definition/high quality video. We appreciate you guys sharing with us your wonderful excursions and introducing us to new foods. I particularly enjoyed the biscuit looking though bread pastry filled with the filling that Audrey described as a mix between ice cream and whipped cream(if memory serves me right). Also I should say that Rob is a cool guy to hang around with. Thank you.
great vid guys, keep up the quality content!!
Glad you guys went to Togoshi Ginza, one of my favourite parts of Tokyo.

I wasn't expecting this! One of the best places in Tokyo to grab street food.
This place is also known for Onsen.

You guys are becoming my favorite food channel on CZcams. This and your Ramen episode were amazing. Keep it up!! ;)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed those videos.
Looks Yummy!
Ahhh we didn’t get to explore this part of Ginza! Perfect excuse to book our tickets back to Japan! 👍
It's not the ritzy Ginza district that you've been to, it's in a completely different location.😆
It's about 30 mins southeast of the Ginza district. It's a nice typical neighborhood of Tokyo.
Oh that makes sense now lol
Togoshi Ginza! Cool and deep! That place seems to be not for tourists but for nearby residents.
But I'll bet that tourists can enjoy Japanese everyday life there.
Thank you! We loved visiting.
Your friend reminds us so much of Ben Stiller. Creamy cream/ice cream in a bun - sounds intriguing! Those donuts - how cute! Almonds for ears 😜. Afternoon whiskey sounds OK to us 👍
He looks like Steve o to me, especially his teeth
This place reminds me of Yanaka Ginza, another street. Good places to chow.
melonpan !!! one of my favorite.
some years ago, Suntory planned to sell more whisky and they did campaign using highball cocktail with their whisky. so now highball is popular in Japan.
I wanna eat all that! Yumm!
Ok, I am 🤤. Have to go fry up some korrokke.
I've seen a looot of Japan food videos, but only now i see breaded fish lol... Funny food!
It's worth trying! We also bought some from the supermarkets in the pre-made food section.
It's not my favorite food though... 😁 But the other food here are nice! Enjoying your Japan adventure so much! 😍
Oden looks very simple but is delicious with some mustard with its tasty broth... some of their 7-11s sell a very good version of Oden
Definitely one of the best food in winter!
Ohhhhhhh DEN!!!!! Yummmmmm!!!!!!
Agreed, oden are so damn good
Mentally noting all of these places ,,, I wanna go BAAAAAAD !! 👍
We have lots of street food markets coming up! 😉
@8:18 that railroad crossing looks like it's the place from the that Japanese anime (The girl who leapt thought time).
you can also do a video based on their vending machines, Japanese vending machines carries a lot of different things, ex canned ramen, strawberry bread, hot yuzu drink, and more
Maybe it is Mochi and ice cream and not bread after all. I'm surprised there weren't dipping sauces for the fried food.
Sounds like you guys had fun on your walk down the "street"
I'll be staying in Ginza this week!
Enjoy your trip!
still summer in japan? wow lucky u guys winter in America but not too bad in Texas at moment just at night. i love how the food is supercheap so u can sample so much ! i am on a seafood Diet i see food and i eat it! LOL

Gracias German!
You really need to put TONKATSU sauce with those fried foods!
hey kids are you home for the holidays ? here is hoping you have a great turkey day
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated the Canadian version last month. 😉
I'm heading to Tokyo on Thursday, should I take warm clothes (like I planned) I'm in Texas and it's cold here.... I've looked up the weather and it says it's in the 60s f (16°c) but you guys are saying its warm lol or maybe the video is like a month old.
This video was filmed over the summer, so pack for the current weather!
damn, i have to go to tokyo. now!!!

@@samuelandaudrey i fly in march - the second time. so i just look at all the videos and prepare myself for it 😊
I would really love some behind the scenes video. Like when you finish eating i would like to see how the food gets out.
Maybe you can put camera on toilette seat or somewhere close..
Just an idea, it would be interesting

Thank you! We started off in Osaka if you want to watch our first few episodes from this series :)
Thank you for your reply!!
Okay people gotta stop watching going to eat! 😂
Melon pan is SO good but quite high in calories; I feel guilty when I eat it, ha ha!
It was SOOO tasty - especially the flavoured variety.
Unfortunately so much waste and plastic wrapped around the food in Japan... but still looks so good! Love the seal donut :-)
Welcome Japan
Thank you!
👍
Thanks!
Steve o and jesse.... From breakin bad 👍
🤣🤣🤣
Are there any videos of y'all eating fugo pufferfish?
Dejuan Code We tried it in Osaka but still yet to upload on our channel! Still have plenty of other content to get through first...
No, we decided to pass on the puffer fish! 🐡🐡🐡
@@samuelandaudrey LOL i dont blame you btw i love y'all videos
we want to go too but one thing i want to know how to manage everything without knowing the local language?
With lots of pointing, gesturing, and charades. 👍
Fried food is tasty without a sauce?
Sweets in Japan aren't as sweet compared to western food. In Japan, they use less sugar in their donuts which means you can eat more sweets.
Audrey, you already got your package from Osaka?
They never did find my things in the apartment, which seems really odd...
Yes, I like to impregnate my chickens with grease too LOL
...at the cellular level! 🤣🤣🤣
You need some sauce to eat Japanese fries!
Good tip!
Is that like Steve-Os cousin or something?
Thank you!
We're from Canada.
We really enjoyed Japan. 😊

What ... still no more rain ? Are you just trying to turn me off going in June / July ... ? ;-)
You can expect quite a bit of rain in July, but we just found indoor activites on those days. 😊
How can Audrey eat that much and yet stay thin?😅 I‘m jealous.
So the ramen Audrey had was very spicy yet good. By the way, who is this crude jerk guy with hoarse voice? I love your vlogs, but every time this guy makes comments (always negative and crude), a vlog becomes very unpleasant, very sadly. Other than that, I have been enjoying your travel vlogs, especially your Japan vlogs!
Oh wow so you actually shoot in English and then in Spanish??
Yup, everything is filmed twice! 😉
