- Come join us for a Japanese Kit Kats taste test as we try a whoe bunch of different only available in Japan uniquely flavored kit kat bars in our apartment in Tokyo, Japan. Overall, we definitely preferred some Japanese Kit Kats over others as you'll see from our reactions but some were defiitely great whereas others were awful.
Overall we got to try 11 different Japanese Kit Kat bars:

Alright guys! Today we are going to be doing a Kit Kat taste test. I love Kit Kats chocolates. Yeah. And Japan apparently has over 300 flavors which is insane. It blows my mind because in North America I've only seen about two or three different kinds. I've seen ones with peanut butter and maybe a dark chocolate and regular and that is about it. Some exciting stuff.
In Japan there is over 300 which is crazy and they vary by region. Do you want to expain that? So the flavors are both seasonal and regional. So in order to try some of the flavors you actually have to travel to that prefecture. Yeah.
We didn't have that luxury so we actually just scoured convenience stores and Don Quijote. Yeah. Supermarkets and we were able to find eleven flavors. I know. Eleven is not bad. It is certainly enough for this taste test and they are all. It is such a random combination.
It is the most ecelectic combination of flavors you can imagine. And we can't wait to show you what they are.
And also if you are wondering why Kit Kat is so popular in Japan. It is because the name Kit Kat kind of sounds a little bit like Kitakatsu which means you will surely succeed or you will surely win.
So Kit Kats in Japan ran this whole marketing campaign about how you could give a Kit Kat to a student in order to wish them luck and wish them success in their studies. You know what? We're going to need a lot of luck to eat all 11 of these so wish us some luck.

I was awaiting this video 🎉 I actually love to try different chocolates and candies from around the world because there's just something different about them especially kit kat with all their different flavors and the ones you guys tried would be something I will to. I know in South Africa we have the original kit kat and the dark and white one and the last time I went to dubai I picked a few up like the hazelnut one, caramel, coconut and cookies and cream which was very different from the one you guys tried although I couldn't really taste a difference from the original one and this one, those flavors are not so unique but they surely are super tasty and recently my sister spotted them in Johannesburg 👏🏻🎉

Wow! I knew that the Japanese loved their kit Kats, but I didn’t realise there were over 300! I managed to find 16 flavours during my travels (including the butter one). My favourites were Matcha, Hokkaido Melon and Red Bean.

World Market here in the United States has been carrying those Kit Kats as well. I recently got the Matcha one.

I've had most of these except the wasabi and liked them all. They also have some I think you'd like like rum raisin and strawberry cheesecake which were awesome. I also saw some special ones at Narita airportflavored like melon but didn't get them.

I absolutely love the Fuji Apple, Strawberry , Melon and Raspberry flavored Kit Kats. And yes Don Quijote is my go to place to find cheap bags of them. Where did y’all find the mint ones?

Kitkat is my all time #1treat all of my life! Lol.I didn't know that they have over 300 flavors in Japan! The raspberry one made her squint her eyes! Lol.Yes,please always have water on hand. I remember the bay city rollers ( British boy band like pop/ rock group in '70's )doing the t.v.commertial for kitkat! Lol.You two are going??? Probably ,too young to know them.OMG! After eight! I LOVE after eight! I grew up w/ that ! It was mom's favorite thing after dinners! I still eat them sometimes! I love the bitterness of the dark chocolate with the minty gel cream combination as well! A fun video! Thanks!

I am not a big chocolate fan but I really like the pocky chocolate infused with whisky which is also less sweet so more suitable for adult palette.

Great video! I wonder why they don't make different flavor kit kats in other countries, but only in Japan. In Brazil we find the regular milk chocolate one, the dark chocolate, the white chocolate and the peanut one. I would love to try the matcha ones

We bought a bunch of KitKat that we were supposed to record a taste video as well but never got around to it. Had to eat it cause didn’t realize how fast they expired lol. You guys should try the one with cranberry. I like that one. One day I will try all 300 flavors and choose my most favorite. 😂 Wasabi will probably make it to my least favorite though.

Seriously it makes no sense, some of those flavors never made it to the states or Canada. The pure Japanese flavors may not sell, but the raspberry, strawberry ice cream may do good out here...
Wondering if the one with the polar bears was Shirokuma (polar bear) ice cream. Shirokuma ice cream in cups is actually more like shaved ice with a lot of condensed milk mixed with frozen fesh fruits of various kinds (strawberry, blueberry banana) and azuki beans. I like the ice cream but never tried the kit kat. Condensed milk taste might be describe as "buttery". They sell Shirokuma in cups (more like shaved ice) and in ice cream / milk bars on a stick, with the sticks being more ice cream like. I think the flavor combination goes ok with ice cream (esp. on a hot day), but I don't know how it would do as a chocolate flavor. (Shirokuma ice cream bars on a stick also has a "tropical fruit" variety that is kind of interesting, a greenish / yellowish color; I remember that it was good, but I can't quite remember the flavors, maybe banana, maybe melon maybe coconut, maybe pineapple.)

Some of the flavors are really good and then there are some that taste bad. My family and I tried 28 flavors while we were there. Major sugar rush.

@@samuelandaudrey i suppose the user mean that Nestlé is a really bad company. Back home, in Canada, they actually abuse our water system by paying next to nothing for water that they sell to people. And for the chocolat part, they were caught in a scandal with slaves workers....
