I like how the joke about the whole Edo Period FE thing comes from them "trying to modernize" the games. Its one of those subtle winks that usually April Fools jokes have.
Fafnir & Reginn is the best one because it’s a shitpost in its purest form. It’s like a Fortnite dance or Specialist meme but actually made by IntSys

My favorite FE related April Fool's post was not from IS themselves but I think it was from the Serenes Forest forums. It claimed to be translating a Sakurai Kotaku or whatever magazine interview that claimed he believed that Smash was so lacking in Fire Emblem characters that he was announcing a new Smash game with only Fire Emblem characters, with a roster of around 70 playable characters. I found it to be really funny
That would actually be hilarious. And believable too. Now I'll forever mourn the lack of FE Smash xD
I mean.. i'd be totally down for that if they make the different sword lords have a very varied fighting style. :D
Can't have Lyn fight the same way Chrom does as example. One is a quick and nimble fighter while the other bashes holes into rockwalls with a wooden sword.
Actually i would love a Super Fire Emblem Bros. With a diverse cast and characters from FE1 to TMS and 3H

That Valbar spin off had me reeling when they first announced it. Another fun little thing worth mentioning is the April Fools Cipher cards they made for the Cipher OCs with fun art and absolutely busted abilities, but with restrictions like "you can only play this card on April 1st of this year" or something
As a joke, Legendary Feh takes my favourite. The sheer absurdity of how powerful Feh was, not to mention instantly taking the top spot for alts was goofy. It was far from serious. But it was goofy and great at the same time. Overall though, the Lonely Puppeteer remix takes my favourite. While I love the others, there is no doubt that the production quality has improved a lot over time especially compared to its main comparison with the book 5 dance off. Both the video and music of the Lonely Puppeteer remix is wonderful overall and I'm sure many can agree it is thoroughly enjoyable even disregarding April Fools.
I even completely forgot about april fools on this one, Lonely Puppeteer remix was awesome in every way. I didn't even knew the tambourine could be so complex to play
The FEH trailer also finally revealed her voice actresses.

Imagine they announce an FE4 remake, but it’s the most barebones remake in existence, and has poor performance. Then E3 Season comes, Nintendo Direct starts, we get the trailer again, it fades to black, and then it says something like “Did you really think we do that?”. And then, a remix of the Prologue theme starts playing, flash of light, and the true remake is shown, and it’s everything a Fire Emblem 4 remake should be and more.

Both this year and Valentia's April Fool jokes went way too far even though they didn't really need to, and I'll always appreciate them for that.
The lonely puppeteer definitely caught me off guard with it's quality. I would have likely fallen for the Valbar spinoff too if I had noticed it at the time.
Love the Valbar one so much to this day! Praying they get alts like that in a ninja banner one day

Honestly all I remember is that somebody’s mutton got poisoned, something about rage fest, and somebody getting smashed and going on a rampage with a fire tome.

Lonely Puppeteer’s remix lived rent free in my head for weeks after it released. The remix bops, the actual performance was entrancing and they successfully made me like Ash. She has so much personality in the video I had no choice lol. As it is, that is my favourite April Fools joke from IS. Made even better by the fact it was *late*

I didn't think Battle of Revolution was THAT detailed. There was so much more to it.
If this continues, I have the feeling Intelligent Systems could create an entire game as an April fools celebration in the future.
I like how the videos they made for April fools look better than the cutscenes in three houses
It may be an unpopular take, but I’m hoping FE takes after the visual style of Heroes/Awakening/Fates going forward. I adore the cutscenes in those games and I can’t help but miss the sprites on the overworld map.

Echoes had very mixed cutscenes. A lot of the times, I thought the characters looked a bit off model. There are scenes where Celica and Alm look like half assed versions of themselves. Awakening and Fates had amazing cutscenes compared to Echoes.
I personally love Lonely Puppeteer, it’s so highly quality and upbeat, an absolutely incredible video 🎻🎸
Man why does Battle of Revolution have to be a joke, it genuinely sounds so sick I would love to play it
Starting off the journey by fighting some bandit in a village backyard,
ended up fighting some demon god or sealed satan from another dimension or outer space.

Moove with Askr was the best, and even though it just came out of nowhere, you got a special map to face for the accessory plus a boatload of stamina potions. Oh my goodness. The king shitpost.
My uncle works at Nintendo, next year they're going to have a special event where your phone sucks you inside upon loading the game and you have to live in the game for the rest of your life as the Summoner.
I'm convinced that Legendary Feh was a sort of revenge against all the players sharing sprite art of the fire mages in Feh cooking the owl.
I always end up constantly rewatching the Lonely Puppeteer Remix, it’s just so memorizing. And I don’t ever play FEH!
I love FE shitposts... You never know what you're gonna get, but it's always gonna be a fun time!
My favorite is the dance of because it just has such a specific unhinged energy, the models clearly not made for dances, the choreography clearly being impressive but seemingly just put on the models, the low effort rendering, that is kino. Compared to this year's, which is just a good music video for one of the remixes, is kind of too good for it's own purpose, especially since the characters playing instruments is much less surreal than them doing modern dances (which makes me wonder how surtr would look doing some form of dance)
There literally 5 characters in the edo period joke, and they’re all existing FE characters and could easily be made as seasonal units in FEH
As fun and cool the recent FEH jokes have been, Feh being a summonable hero is still my fave. She can go up to any gods in Zenith and obliterate them, but Askr has her detained as a mere messenger owl to contain her power.

You know, the other thing i love about these april fools jokes is that the are steadily giving the summoner personality.
I'm surprised at how Battle of Revolution and Spring remix were the only one's of these I've heard of, the 8-bit styled Heros game was just super cute!
I love the Lonely Puppeteer Spring Remix, it's a banger, i didn't even know it was supposed to be an april fools thing.
I haven't played FE Heroes in years but I'll still watch the youtube videos on it. I watched Lonely Pupeteers and it didn't even register as an April Fool's joke. I just sat there thinking it was a total flex and "Man this app makes money!"
IIRC the Legendary Hero Feh video actually teased the release of a Feh Channel 4 days later because her special cooldown showed 4 at 6:56; in every other battle clip the special cooldown remains at 100
This year's april fools video showed me how hard someone can go on a tambourine. The other two musicians were amazing as well.

My favorite has to be Lonely Puppeteer. In the latest chapter at the time, we had:
- Veronica getting executed in ten days
- Ash slowly losing feeling in her body
- Alfonse telling Letizia that he killed his father (which is technically true, but he's lying about the context), and that he'll kill her too
And the followup managed to be _that._ The timing still sends me. lol
Alfonse pulling up to Letizia and said "I killed my Father, now I'll kill you too." while wearing the biggest smile on his portrait still sends me even now, Book 6 was great lmao.
Feh's announcement as a playable character in FEH was the only April Fool's video I'd watched from them, and it wasn't believable by any means, but still, it was hilarious to see her just demolishing everything, haha. Battle of Revolution's page was very well done, though, I like how much they fleshed it out.
i have to say my most favorite of these is the feh legendary banner. its just so charming and even though we're not gonna ever get her as a unit, itd be so cool if they released official plushies of her and maybe like one or 2 random accessories to dress her with? like id buy that immiediately! also seeing the last two videos make me wish they continued to use that animation for the main fe games. like i genuinely believe fates and awakenings cutscenes look better than 3houses and these little prank videos just make me believe that more
While not officially made by the devs my favorite fe April fools joke was when someone made a fe heroes fighting game and it was accidentally the most hype thing I've ever wanted to become a reality
and the guy who did that just made a follow up video a few months ago saying "i'm still cooking" while showing a make-up gameplay of that specific fighting game.

There are these April Fools-pranks that aren't funny but rather ranging from disappointing to actively maddening that they aren't real. Battle of Revolution is very much in the disappointing-camp. Not only because the game sounds sick on its own, but also because we also would have gotten a switchversion if it was real...which the actual game that released(Echoes) did not. Even tho Echoes is my favorite FE to date, I think we probably live in the universe that got the lesser product unironically.(Though tbf, that release might have been botched, one never knows)
Lonely Puppeteer is the best one for me the music, animation/Motion Capture and colour is beautiful and gorgeous :D
I think my favorite surprise with the 8-bit FEH announcement was the fact that they included the TMS lords too

Yeah I saw this year's and was very confused. I haven't played FEH in years, but I clicked on the video out of curiosity. It...certainly was a thing. The Valentia one seems neat, and I can appreciate a good twitter shitpost, too.
I think my favourite thing about that first april fools you mention, was that a lot of the character names are a reference to FE Gaiden/Echoes

next year they will get the VA's (both english and japanese) of several main characters to recreate famous supports of the series in character and cheap cosplay

i wish they'd bring back the 8bit maps, they were so cool! i wonder though, i have the 8-bit Claude and Edelgard accessories, but I don't have a Dimitri... did i skip something back then or was he was just not available? Also, it wasn't an april fool jokr in itself, but i loved how IS having a partnership with a tea company turned on them as they didn't expect that many ppl would be buying 3h themed tea sets... FEH: Unshackled Gateways was another April Fools joke they did, creating a fake 2d Fighting Game UI similar to GranBlue Fantasy Vs, but ALSO had callback like "using the Premium Arrange version of Hardin's theme" & "Swordmaster Wrys" from Cipher XD
