Thanks for making a (mostly) anti-AI coverage video so I could actually stick through it without rolling my eyes
I love how the majority of the world thinks ai is like a week away from taking over but anytime I use it I get confidently incorrect answers to half of my prompts
@@guap3228 i dont need to work like that. its like calling IT in whatever country and never getting answer or resolution
@@guap3228AI literally already gets used in most IT jobs, been like that for years. AI is here, its just not what you guys think it is
@@guap3228what is free to use for regular people vs what is actually available to companies that create algorithms that force a video in your feed are completely different
Jokes on you the whole video is made by AI 😂
I appreciate the endeavor to show as little AI as possible.
Kinda tired of the AI hysteria. You people are going out of your way to avoid something that can't be stopped.
AI is the future my man, for better or worse.
Just like nuclear weapons. Iran will have them, Saudis within the next 10.
It's like groundhog day and Paul is still on day one of Computex.
That quick release for the NVME is slick. And the PCIE release. And CAMM2. And the M.2 expansion card. I'm excited to finally seeing some meaningful stuff being added to MOBOs. Though... you were credible Paul, up till the AI stuff near the end ;)
The GPU with The M.2 Slots looks soo cool and seem useful! I paid for the PCIE, so I might use all of it as well, rather just wasting space.
Best part about CAMM: Cooling.
1. Desktop : No need to ditch the front fan on large air coolers. Unless somebody puts insanely oversized coolers on these.
2. Laptop : You won't end up with RAM chips facing the motherboard anymore.
And higher density and an easier path to run traces to the CPU that will, at least potentially, allow for higher stable clocks and tighter timings.
i absolutely love when all the techtubers go to an event, so much fun
Socket 1851? I think Paul meant to say Socket-who can possibly know? Hem hem
You mean he wasn't supposed to say SOCKET 1851. But Steve said SOCKET 1851 multiple times in his videos. Is there a problem with saying SOCKET 1851?
That gpu lock thingy is amazing. Hopefully it comes to all boards.
Steve is throwing a rave for them adding the debug led
I really liked that GPU with the dragon head in between the fans (rather than covering one of them). Whether it's AI generated or not, if I wanted a show GPU for vertical placement in a windowed case, I'd be willing to shell out extra cash for something like that, even if it's just plastic and has a slight negative impact on cooling performance.
Maybe you can AI generate it & 3D print it? You'd have to paint it yourself!
Offgasing
That M.2 mechanism gives ya that fizz! Lol! That's really, really well executed! Nice work you two! Thanks for keepin us posted and entertained as usual!
5:44 thank goodness someone is doing it instead of throwing 20-27 110 amp stages on an AM5 board that doesnt need anywhere near that much
Thanks for the coverage and good work! Covered stuff two other youtubers missed
Good on them for including the debug LEDs
keep it up man, this has been great
CAMM orientation means we will soon see Tower style heat sinks with fans for it and water cooling blocks for it....AIO's that also includes the CAMM and M.2's aside from the Processor.... Heck we may even see the VRM's included in the water cooling loops... DIY Fest!
Dayum.. it was DAY 1 and you were already losing your voice?? lol I hope you healed up good :) - It's been such a cool week!!
M.2 drives have needed a competent retention method since they've existed. There was no reason to have to deal with those microscopic screws.
I had to break a motherboard down to change the battery. Talk about user friendly.
Threw it on the ground! -Turtle Island.
i've got the X670E Aorus Master and it takes 2 Hours to change the darn CMOS-Battery (2 weeks later it turned out that the Mobo was default) they gotta rethink the CMOS-Battery placement tbh.
@@HIIMUsc "The mobo was default"
Do you mean... defective?
If it took you two hours to unscrew the backplate and chipset heatsink, I simply don't know how to help you.
@@tim3172 Just looked at the MoBo and I believe him. Depending on the case and what needs to be moved out of the way to gain access (and let's be honest, we'd all take some time to blow out the dust and wipe down some panels), two hours seems reasonable to me.
@@tim3172 you're right, it was defective, my bad.
it took me 2 hours in total, disassembling the Computer to get the Mobo out and putting it back in after the replacement, i surely was pissed, because if the CMOS battery woul be hidden by a M.2 Cooler or not hidden at all, you wouldn't need to first disassemble the whole PC and possibly could get the warranty voided 🫥
I really like the idea of the added hot-swappable M.2 on the GPU, you could easily pop it out, swap another drive in and pop it back in- I always need a way to hot-swap my drives and that seems like a good way to do it! I love MSI boards, mostly for their BIOS and of course for the good quality overall as well.
these GPU m.2 slots are nice
i'm super excited to see how ITX boards will change considering that mobos have the option of CAMM now.
i actually like the kind of green they used on one of those dragon cards. don't like the shroud design much but i'd be interested in a card with green accents like that
Those swappable NVME drives built into the graphics card are nice. Very clean, they can take advantage of good cooling, and you can seriously upgrade your storage with hardly any effort. It will be interesting to see if desktop CAMM ends up outperforming DRAM and if not, if another new standard crops up that beats both.
1:20 I've found that a chopstick works well for depressing the latch on the PCIe slot.
No AI!!!!! Thank you ❤
Cool stuff
I love my Tomahawk x570, but the yellow on the x870 is a hard no from me. Love the addition of the debug led so we will see how the other boards look.
Have fun over there!!!
did he just say... m.2 drive slot IN the grafix card?!?!? wow!!!
Only thing missing on that GPU was video out ports, because I didn't see any.
Yeah, I don't know how cooling's gonna work with that ... 😕?
they can do that already
@@FatCatFanaticsame thoughts temps are no small thing for an M.2
@@Mikey109105 because Paul is wrong and it's not actually a a graphics card.
It's a re-design of the existing m.2 xpander card.
Its essentially a fancy pcie x16 to m.2 adapter.
GPU M.2 is cool, i missed that. Thanks for the look. Pints are on me.
I putting that suprim in the new phanteks evolv x2 case. It's perfect for it!
I will upgrade just for the debug LED. Best feature ever.
Big finger people union just approved the PCI express button.
Are the M.2 retainers [going to be] available aftermarket?
That Tomahawk mobo look sick.
Regarding CAMM: I'd prefer if manufacturers made something with connectors that don't break, like current DIMM modules, instead of inventing connectors that can be replaced :)
Being on a non AI diet is difficult these days. We are gonna need AI-free logos things like pasta and rice on on grocery store shelves.
But if we do that, the cult of A.I. will demand logos and stickers and I don't know what-all on their stiff too. Where will it end?!?
Best line of Computex 2024 - "Probably not going to be the best in terms of airflow since you have a dragon blocking half of your air intake" , Paul Heimlich.
Modest but interesting kit on the MSI stall (not including the dragons which are wonderfully sculptured and coloured!) 'AI'l is forgiven.
Any CAMM2 expected on x870 boards? Ryzen would benefit from tighter timings!
With AM5 the debug display is now essential as so far had 5 boards now which either from start or after few months turned out to be faulty and trying to work out what it's doing or not with just 4 little coloured leds was a nightmare & wasted my time in the end finding out those boards were actually faulty
ok im completely sold on those gpu design ideas
I look forward to when efficiency gains bring us back down to 2xslot cards...
You are forgiven! 😜 The second GPU with a dragon (with the dragon between the fans) is amazing. I want one! 😊
I really hope they start working on reducing temperatures - CPU's are pretty good these days - but you could replace your furnace with a 14900k
not so much needing the AI but when are we going to see a Mainframe supercomputer in a Mini case that is air cooled?
w-where are the video outputs on the m.2 gpu
that aio 4090 looks insane.. nice concept
Gigabyte have AI PSU, AI Case, AI Motherboard, AI SSD
I love that youtube offers to translate your comment into English
@@krjal3038 If you're not a geek, you won't be able to read that.
Shoulda renamed their company to GAIGAIBYTE
AI cables
I REALLY like the GPU + M.2 card.
Ram on laptops should already be placed on the back of the circuit board right behind the CPU to minimize the distance.
glad to see the debug LED returning to Motherboards, they need to stay as the standard again & i would love if we don't have to call the EU again
also the GPUs with M.2 drive bays seem pretty neat, sadly I'm the kind of guy that puts their PC against the wall so is not that much hassle free (big respect to the case manufacturers that do the rotated MoBo that have the full IO on the top)
smol correction: that was a CAMM2 module not LPCAMM2, but exciting nevertheless! Also that GPU + SSD combo is very nice, but not sure if Intel consumer CPUs can do x8x4x4 bifurcation (I think a lot of AMD chips can)
i spy the m.2 footage being used three times lol
With the potential for a new memory standard that may have increased speeds, would it make XMP and EXPO obsolete?
Hoping they make a project zero micro atx using the X870 chipset. Would like a newer board than the current B650
I'd be happy if they had a white amd b850/b870 camm2 motherboard. I'd think the best outcome is a black and white camm2 motherboard for b850 and b870/b870e. If there more options available, I feel like more people might be able to buy something that suits them and with more people with camm2, the higher the demand. So hopefully camm2 comes out affordable. Cause I'd be happy to buy a white amd motherboard with camm2 support.
i dont know if it is just me but i love CAMM memory .
Thought the dragon shrouds on the GPU's were super cool before hearing they were AI generated....
They should all be able to use a GPU release button as well. How do you copyright that?
QOL FTW!
You're fired!
Cool !
Wouldn't those NVMes in the GPU get real toasty?
It's crowded because its 4 years after covid and everyone is getting back to normal
No AI! But maybe a directed mic to suppress outside noise would be nice.
I remember MSI!!!
I’ve been looking into PCIe cards with removable sleds similar to what’s going on with the new GPUs. Guess I’ll stop looking
I love gaming...and AI! :)
What are people doing to the graphics cards that handling it just breaks the card?
I really like MSI work. My next mother board and probaly GPU will be MSI.
it's a FROST dragon, we good.
You can run... you can hide... but you can not escape it.
I'm more interested in the CAMM memory standard.
I genuinely wish they would debut something like those dragon-shroud GPUs. Bring back insane looking hardware in 2025. Hell, even making their offerings identical on AMD and Intel side of things would be great (I'm sick to death of Intel getting the better white hardware while being the worse platform.)
Hooray for debug LEDs
4x DDR5 slots ftw!
Oh Paul…as someone who is artificially intelligent, thank you for the token AI shot at the end. I felt at home with contemporary media swaddlement.
I have a feeling that the 4090 fusion cooler was designed for a 5090
I dislike the look of the new tomahawk board. That is unfortunate for me at least. I loved those boards.
How much is it?
8:10 Dragons are cool, wait 1... Dragons breathe fire, so dragons are hot!
I love the dragons on the cards. Real PC personalization should make a comeback, as that's a great way to showcase creativity and your love of something (dragons, waifu). Yeston's cards looked awesome, and ASUS' Evangelion integration is very cool. The whole 'tech" theme, fantasy, racing, whatever, makes a boring RGB rig a real display of personality. IFR used to do stuff like that. We need it again. MORE, MORE, MORE!!!
I love your crybaby avatar/pic.
@@tim3172 Care to explain?
@@tim3172 What are you talking about?
Someone soon to be replaced by AI laughing in the background about AI artwork.
who needs dragon's on their gpu? I want mine with Paul's head as a shroud!
tbf MSI challenged users to create those AI designs, and rewarded the winners with new graphics cards. :)
That x870 tomahawk with 5Gig nic, sounds pricey AF.
dammit MSI, you had one job! (to not say the letters AI)
smells good
Haha. You said 1851
M.2 in a video card is brilliant IF the card can access it directy. If not, it's just another gimmick. That 4090 is freaking amazing (drool) but I refuse to sell my car to buy it.
So we wont need chopsticks to remove a GPU anymore.
Paul ... you are forgiven.
will you get in trouble for calling it the "1851" motherboard? everyone else seems to be talking around some sort of restriction on that. . . . .
I could tell those were AI generated. I don't even know exactly what it is about AI art that makes it easy to pick out- that was my first thought when seeing those dragon cards.
Paul Tricked Me!!
Oh no AI I said I wouldn't show you.... Oops forget to edit that out... foh
I was tricked into watching this video! Oh no!
Linus beat your there. Hence the broken M.2 GPU.

AI isn't the problem here. All the new motherboards without 12VO power / keeping the stupid 24 pin ATX connector is the problem...
