Super. I have (2) 40 DCOEs coming on a Volvo B20 engine. These videos have relieved my anxiety about Weber carbs. Thank you!

The float pin should be inserted from the non split end, it can be pushed by hand all the way through to the split end and only requires 2 taps with a small hammer to get it fully home, instead of hammering it all the way through from the split end, it’s only the split end that has any compression on the pin to hold it in place

This was a fantastic video! I purchased three of these from ebay, and am rebuilding them for my 1971 Datsun 240Z, after watching this I feel very confident!

Those three are a stout compliment to a six cylinder engine. Nice work.

Your videos are of great help. They convinced me to buy my first Weber. A 48 DCO SP. How about a set of videos on tuning/calibration?

Great video, thanks. Im doing same set-up on a 245 Hemi but with 40 DCOE's . Problem is two are DCOE 31 and one Im in process of buying is a DCOE 18 . Do I have a problem that can't be rectified ? Again, many thanks.

"...take a small hammer aaaand just gently pound the shit out of the pin." Just kidding, thanks for the videos! I just bought a pair of used 45mm 152 DCOEs that need some love. ALL of the venturis on them are more or less distorted, because of ovetightening, original screws have been replaced with miscellaneous bits, the other one has it's frame cracked just between the air cleaner mating surface and the venturi etc. I sometimes wonder what kind of cavemen handle these things..

I would appreciate a dis-assembly guide with a typical dcoe showing how the various caps / pins can be remove without destroying them.

if you see how they go in it should be pretty obvious how to take them out. everything is either held by threads or friction.

I think that should read "threads and sticktion."
