    EXCELLENT video...thank you so much for your well informed and detailed information.
    You touched base on every question I had.
    I'll be using this with a PC and Cubase, as a second tier controller for my software to use with my Yamaha Montage.
    Thanks again!

    Thanks, Laura. Well done. I'm just wondering why every version of the iRig Keys 2 is on IK Multimedia's CZcams channel EXCEPT the iRig Keys 2 Pro?! I have found several videos on it, including yours, but not a single one is on the IK Multimedia channel. Weird, huh?

    Having to hit the same button for the only 4 settings is a downer. We may want to quickly switch from 1 over to 3, but that's a delay if you were going tpo use this in a live performance instead of just editing to create a tune.

    • @LauraReynoldsMusic
      @LauraReynoldsMusic  Před 3 lety

      These sorts of things keep costs low and keep the interface clean. But certainly, it takes an extra step in a live situation.

  • @Hanschr1313
    @Hanschr1313 Před 3 lety +2

    Is the built in audio device like an ordinary I/O audio sound card but with no audio input (I) for example for recording guitar? I'm intested in the controller if you can play and record with the keyboard while have low latency "ok" quality sound output in the headphones. Thanks!

    • @Hanschr1313
      @Hanschr1313 Před 3 lety +3

      I took the chance and purchased it anyway and I can confirm that it does exactly what I wanted and the latency is low.

      @LauraReynoldsMusic  Před 3 lety

      @@Hanschr1313 Great! Glad that you like it! And to answer your previous question, it does not have (analog) audio in.

    • @Hanschr1313
      @Hanschr1313 Před 3 lety +2

      @@LauraReynoldsMusic Better late than never :-D. Well it does not have audio inputs but it has the audio I/O from usb so you can use it as a midi keyboard, a soundcard and a headphone amplifier at once. And that is nice.

    I like to connect the urig to my iPad Air and there I like to run the piano sound of „Pure Piano“ in the background while using it for another app witch is called „Staffpad“. A notation app.
    Do you think this will work out!
    Thanks very much!

    Hi Laura. I know this video has been posted quite some time ago, so not sure if you will respond, but I will ask and hope for the best! I am 74 years of age never played and instrument of any kind, but wanted to purchase a small 37 keyboard and the Irig keys 2 pro seems perfect. However, I have struggled getting it set up and it certainly has been a challenge for someone who has little knowledge of technical jargon. I am pleased to say that I have now got it set up using the app igrand piano. But one question I have, can you play the keyboard through the iPad only without the need of headphones or external speaker, which would make it easier to set up and play? If you can, could you advise, but can you keep it very simple please? I have enjoyed your video, it’s been very helpful, I just wish I had your knowledge, but at 74 I would be happy to just get the basics right… Many thanks!

    • @LauraReynoldsMusic
      @LauraReynoldsMusic  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi....yes, you should be able to use the Irig Keys as a MIDI controller only and not as the audio interface. You might need to just change the audio output device on your iPad.
      Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPad.
      Touch and hold the audio card in the upper-right corner of Control Center to control audio.
      Tap , then choose the device that you want from the list.

      Assignment is done in the virtual instrument you are using. Consult your MC-101 manual.
