- TRYING DURIAN FOR THE FIRST TIME // MUSANG KING
First of all, we would like to thank to BeTouristMY Information & Service Centre for organising such a unique trip and inviting so many different nationalities from around the world to discover Raub in Malaysia.
This day was full of adventures and of course more food…haha.
Starting our day with Malay Traditional breakfast, going on a 4x4 for the first time and driving up to a waterfall hidden in the jungle was just a few activities that we accomplished during this day.
Now onto our best experience of the day - trying durian for the first time! Woooow! Micha didn’t quite like it as much as Justina did. But hey ho - now we are proud to say that we tried the best of the best durian - Musang King Durian. We also witness the oldest standing Musang King Tree in Malaysia that was planted by a very kind man 32 years ago.
What a great day…we are sooo sad that our Raub experience has come to the end but it’s safe to say that we are definitely recommending Raub as a foodie destination filled with beautiful landscape and charming locals.

Who has tried durian? If you have, how would you describe the taste and the texture?
Beer For Breakfast it is hilarious😲😲creamy and yummy..
smells like rotten onion but taste like HEAVEN😋😋
I would think of it more like custard.. thank you for sharing your experience 💞
Beer For Breakfast I love durian. It taste heavenly.
Smell like hell
Taste like heaven
Durian is king of fruit,Mangosteen is Queen of fruit.Nasi Lemak signature food of Malaysian. But don’t eat durian with alcohol and drink like coke is very dangerous!!! Usually durian have bitter or sweeter one.
Very good piece of information, Kelvin! 👌 Thanks buddy!
Kelvin Lau國瑋 yup, my neighbor die after 7 hours eating durian. He drink coke after eating durian n jump to sleep, but sadly he slept forever. 😢
Did you know that there is a 'pantang' which forbids one from eating durians with mangosteens?
I've always doubted it, but have never actually tried to disprove it.
Scarlet Heart true... my stupid neighbour too did the same... he doesnt want listen .... he think we overeacted
Coffee also lah
Omg !! That nasi lemak sambal looks damn good. Is it nice?
Omg I love you Justina. You are not choosy when it comes to foods and fruits especially durian. Not everyone can enjoy it. You are amazing and pretty 😍
I hope a lot of people don"t like Durian, so I can buy it real cheap. KKKKK
Here in the Philippines specially Davao the cheapest "meaning on season" would be just around a 1$ or less and the most expensive it would get is just around $4
@@miketiu2177 musang king is the very expensive durian.. Normal durian you can get below 1 dolar
If most people dont eat durian, then it will be less durian plantation. The price would be more higher then.
Feel great that both of you visit a lot of places in Malaysia.. hopefully its will be good views for others about Malaysia 😊
Some people do dip the kaya toast into the half boiled egg before eating. Durian taste fragrant and sweet for me but it depends on the variety/breed. Some taste sweet, some bitter, some alcoholic and etc. Durian is also high in calories and vitamins. Kinda like energy food especially for vegans/vegetarians. I'm happy u guys had fun here in Malaysia. P.S. if u guys like adventure, check out Gua Tempurung (Tempurung Cave) exploration in Ipoh Perak. Its basically going through the cave.
Thank you for this useful information and your recommendation, Jim! 👍💞
Now only i watched this vlog. Im smiling allllll the way till the end. Nice dear!!
I used to live in Raub for 4 months in 1972. I didn't see any of those places you guys have been visited. At that time the only westerners lived there were English teachers.
.a
I love your vlogs like i keep on waiting everyday just to wait for your videos
Yesss baby ! 😍💃🏼👍
I love when tourist doing reaction about durian. Mix of reactions
justina you are a real trooper! I am very clumsy too. Haha :) thanks for taking us in the water fall with you ♡
Awww, you're most welcome darling 😘
Am hooked on watching your updates. Helps me to relax at the end of a hectic day. Plus you girls are such fun and have great vibes.
Thank you so much! We are super happy to know that you help you to relax 😌👌
Nice video girls. 👍
You certainly had an amazing adventures. 4WD & jungle trekking, waterfall swimming, eating the best durians & sampling the many local cuisines. 😋
Cheers 😃.
Cheers, buddy! 🍻🤗
Haha.. saya biasa pergi trip mcm ni... kadang2 ada macam2 foreigners join kadang2 kitorang je... tapi semua mmg sempoi bila masuk tempat mcm ni..
Hi guys glad you are back!
Seems you guys have fun exploring Malaysia.
Ohhh yess!!!! 💃
Nice video... You guys visit places in Malaysia even we locals haven't been. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I love that you tried the durian.
Awww, thank you so much for watching our videos! 😍
I hate it when youtuber tries durian for the gagging effect or trying to throw up. It is disrespectful and just for the ‘show’.
I am so glad that neither of you did that. You tried it with open mind, and for Justina to love it so much, amazing to watch.
Well done, girls!
Love it......
Liked this video a lot. Durians something most Malaysian adore and love when Westerners try it. The backwards dunk was brilliant and am so glad you were good sports to include it in the vid. That Romanian lady is awesome! Seems like such a fun person with a great sense of humour! Good stuff this..
One of the best so far...love the adventures and of course you gals trying durian....and also this video has the best music and songs....Well done ladies!!!!
ahhh, thanks Jimmy! You're always so kind with your comments. We really appreciate that 😊💞
We live in KL for almost 6 months and everytime we walk the street we would like to vomit if we would smell durian... NO from us, but would like to try one day as you girls did
Hahaha, maybe you should really try the Musang King Durian, I guess it's not as bad as the others even though we haven't tried any other kind but what we've been told that Musang King is the best tasting one! 🤔👌
I would puke if I eat durian but I love the smell though
Beer For Breakfast It's hybrid that's why it taste better. Other than musang king should try 101/ioi also nice.
Maybe for 1st try, you might consider go to KLCC look for Durian Crepe, not bad
You should try it~It's Good
about 3-4 years back, an average income family can affordingly purchase about 3 fruits of the premium durian variety, and about 5-6 fruits for the standard local variety, but now we can only sniff it for the aroma, as the prices have currently ridiculously soared high.it"s become a luxury indulgence for the rich, while the poor have to reduce their cravings for this all time favourite, unless they have the means to splurge.
The only country in the world that sells local fruit with 'high end' price.
Pick it in the wild
I've loved watching these 2 videos, you are both so lucky to have been able experience this 2 day adventure.
Thank you so much, Pauline! 🙃
Very nice video. The durian testing/tasting session was very exciting and interesting.
I just discovered you guys and i think you guys are so cute.. Justina's reaction everytime she eats food is gold! It looks like she can be a food tour show host.
Loved this video guys! Looks like amazing adventurous day you had! Justina, your fall in the water made me laugh out loud haha would love to try durian, got a feeling I'd love it 😍
Kamiliukai!!!! 💞 you never comment on our videos, haha! So nice to see your name pop up! 😍
Hahaha, you know - always making myself look like a fool haha. Ohhh, come join us Kamiliukai and we can take you to try durian hehe! 👌💃

I'm impress. Most travellers just stop by Kuala Lumpur and go to Penang, or they go to Sabah and Sarawak. Enjoy watching your adventures.

great video, I've been to Raub only for a wedding dinner, should've explored more!
and you have a Chinese prosperity sticker on your refrigerator.. you should stick it upside-down so it means "prosperity has arrived"!
Hahaha, good to know! I was always wondering what that means!
It's actually our Airbnb host's place and refrigerator so it's best not to touch it hehe 🤓
Really worth to watch! Come again to Malaysia soon.
We are in Malaysia right now my dear 😇

@@BeerForBreakfast yeah.. you should try pulut durian with coconut milk.. my favourite sticky rice
I like the waterfall and durian farm part. very funny
I really2 love yours reaction.... Good job
One of my fave fruit, Durian. 🇵🇭 has Durian as well.
Ooooooh!!! Musang King! I'm drooling..
that durian looks amazing! but really... fresh from the tree is always the best. that's the way everyone should eat it, not already opened and packed with cling wrap. pahang has lots of durian orchards so you guys were really lucky to have tried the best ones :)
u guys so nice & funny😂.. described Malaysia in a very wonderful way.. it's a very good and very pleasant.. hope u guys enjoyed & happy here..
Thanks so much!!! By the way, I've just noticed that you haven't subscribed to our channel yet, am I right?? :O
@@BeerForBreakfast already did.. may be CZcams doesn't work properly 😉..
Its an amazing food!
Kudos to you girls tasting king of fruits and mangosteen at the farm… it’s not as pungent as stinking tofu when you actually give it a shot!
Once again… welcome to Malaysia and best wishes in 2022… 🙏
Been in Raub many2 times but never been to that waterfall. Hope i can go there 1 day
great reaction guys...
it costs 30 usd in my hometown at the moment. and I got like only c grade durian. you guys are lucky to get A grade
Malaysian 13 State,3 Federal Territory’s.Terima Kasih (Thanks )for coming to Malaysia.
Love to see all your post..
29:22 The best somersault landing I've seen before 😀😀. Just kidding and good video by the way.
Half boiled eggs for breakfast. 😋
I have tried durian mo tong variety, Chanee, d101, Kuob, Squash Kuob, PUYAT Durian Variety. I want to try all varieties. Smells good and delicious 😋
My favorite girls!!!! :) Loved the durian tasting bit, Micha's reaction XD I liked the fruit but not durian tasting things (I tried durian ice cream and it was horrible). I would say that the texture is soft and creamy, the taste is tangy first and round and sweet afterwards. but it has an hint of onion, which I hate :(
The thing about durian is each piece of the whole one durian is taste differently. Each piece in one section can have different flavor.
people who hates durian mostly eat cheap type of durian.. or either the durian fruits already expose too long to air.. and make it kinda sour.. when i was a kids, musang king was cheap.. now it become famous and the price become expensive
U guys makes me craving ..))
Ohh.. that's really yummy guys..
Everyone was really enjoyiing themselves.Justina had a lot of fun at the waterfall.Micha, why were you not swimming?
I really did! It was so much fun! 😄
wow! the whole world jealous with your great experience. Eating the King of Durian from the tree. Thats truly awesome experience. But PLEASE don't eat Durian with the alcohol or soft drink. its not good. Durian has so many types and different taste. hard to describe about taste. smelly, sweet. creamy, custardy, garlicky, cheesy. looks like both of you in love with Malaysia. happy holiday and enjoy your life journey.
Raub. Yup straight to the source. The best durian planted here. A cheap too. 😬
Although being an asian I used to hate it when I was a kid. But one time I tried a good one and felt in love with it ever since. Good and bad durians can make a huge difference
Musang King grades according to Malaysia Department of Agriculture:
A grade : weighs at least 1.5kg & above. has a nice well rounded shape. pulps available in every segment. best value for money.
B grade: similar weight to A but has an odd shape, thus less pulps.
C grade: tiny MK weighs 1kg & below.
the wholesale direct from farm prices last July (2019) for Musang King:
A RM25 per 1kg
B RM15 per 1kg
C RM10 per 1kg
use the above grading & prices as guidance when buying Musang King. we should expect the prices to be at least half or double more in the market
😎🤘🤘
The fact that you tried it twice is good enough, so kudos to you for trying! =]
Hahaha, thanks , buddy! 😊
King of the king....that's right!!...i love musang king...durian is life!!...
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Happy to watch you trying it, I'm sure I won't need too 🙂
wow nice waterfall i love you video happy nice day girls
Thank you so much, Sangora! Make sure you are subscribed to us and turn on your notification button so you don't miss out on our videos! 🙏👌
Hope you visit Malaysia again. You are welcome any time
I've been following for awhile now. Raub seems a lot more nicer than before. You girls should try go up North to Kedah/Penang/Perlis and the East Coast of Malaysia. We Malaysians would love to have you girls coming over :)
Ohh hello there, Izzuddin. Thank you so much for following our crazy adventures! We really hope that we put a smile on your face! 🤗 Ahhhh, maybe we will! We still got some time left here in Malaysia so we might be coming round! You're awesome !💥
Great video with great stories :)...loved it
Thaaaaank you !!! 🤗
Beer For Breakfast welcome..please please and please come to malaysia again :)
We are still here! 😍
Alas, I'm familiar with all the places featured in this video. And don't worry, despite being Malaysian, I didn't know Raub exist until I get posted for a job here haha. Too bad you left Raub without trying Pak Harun chicken satay. It's super yummy!
Hey there! Ahhh, yeah. That was actually on our agenda but the team that was organising everything said that the restaurant they wanted to take us to - was closed.. ;/ Something like: Obama's Satay?
@10:34 = Justina Cam
great video
musang king is totally in a different level for me personally. It tastes so much better than the other type of durians and it is the most expensive one.
I do believe you. It was pretty good even though we never ever tried any other kind of durian. But we are so blessed being able to eat fresh durian just right there at the farm 🙏
Hello there..you both are coming to kuching sarawak malaysia borneo? If you both do.my sis in law is having a homestay here..u both can stay here and having some with natural ambience.
Well, I don't eat Durian even though I'm myself a Malaysian so yeah, as you said in this video its all about individual's preference. Not hated it nor I loved it. Anyways, nice vlog as usual. Really enjoyed all of your vlogs! #CheersToFreedom
Ahh, thanks for the support, Anas! Cheers, buddy! 🤗👌
Anas Syazwan if you can't eat durian, u should try ketum water, it's good for your health👍🏻 it's coming home 2022 qatar
khazzwan guyvalor22 drink ketum and hidu taik lembu yg tengah panas. Smell it while its pipping hot! Memang stim tangkap kepala punya
My lovely hometown...yasss aok
26:29 Those blue eyes. 💜💚💛🧡💙
Wow - a durian farm! Seems like you guys have been to Malaysia a couple of times 😁
If you try it a second time, you WILL like it. Seriously. Happened to a lot of people. They fell in love with durian after 2nd, or maybe 3rd time.
The price depends on supply. 2 months ago was RM 25 per kg.
Huiii !! i'm your fan from malaysia melaka ❤❤❤
Hey hey there! Awesome!!!! WE loved your city, want to come back! 😍
You guys are so lucky! I’m a Malaysian but never tasted a musang king 😭😭 btw I’m really surprised and happy that yall like it like wow! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hey there, Ikmal! Hahah, yeah, everyone was really enjoying it! We hope that you get to try it one day, it really is very good! 😝👌
Wow best betul
I love love love durian. Like the flavor bitter + sweet.
It's great that u got to taste the fresh durian.. the one that sold at roadside stall would have been there for days and start to fermented.. thus it's has stronger smells and alcoholic taste..
Yeah, we were so lucky to try it just there in a farm... So blessed 🙏
Fresh durian is the best in term of taste. Eat it under its tree will give you such an amazing experiences.
9:04 - I never know this place before, even im born and live in Pahang state.
U girls should come again during Mid or end of Ramadhan so u can enjoy Hari Raya with the locals,..
