I like how you sit down in a calm manner and taste each durian flavour according to their level..and not rush it..i honestly think your video do justice to our king of fruit bcoz some foreigner they just wanted to boast to their viewers that they can eat the smelliest fruit on earth...but you dont fall into that category. You are honestly fall in love with durian. Nice.

I am from Canada and love durian. I like the ones that come from older trees that have a hint of bitterness to it. Me and the wife we ate 5 durians at once when we visited Malaysia in 2018. The girl in the video is right, it is fruit from heaven. I can't wait to go back to Kuala lumpur for some more after the Covid restrictions are lifted.

This is probably the best durian tasting video, I have seen on you tube, compared to the many done by foreign visitors. You indeed savoured every piece of the different varieties you chose. You did it with raw feel of your fingers. You gave it a thumbs up.
I am sadly a Malaysian, who despises the very strong odour of the fruit. I remember, once when I was driving, when a friend in the back seat, started a conversation on durian. The mere mention of the word durian, made me nearly throw out. I controlled myself by thinking of better fruits. That is how much I am put off, by it's smell. I have in fact, permanently banned durian to be brought into my house.

@@zlee001 I have to say that Amran is quite correct. There's something special about 'kampong' or wild durians. Yes, their seeds are large and the flesh is very thin. They look pale and unattractive. But the taste is unique and comes with a strong and lasting fragrance. Every 'kampong' durian has its unique identity. Ask about the durians from the Beserah area north of Kuantan, or the Ayer Molek area in Malacca. Sadly many of those trees were cut down and grafted with Musang Kings and other well known species for commercial reasons. Mind you, I LOVE MSW and feel that its quality is not overrated in any way, just have to say that 'kampong' durians are the original. Long live all durians

If you are right in the heart of KL like she was and unable to go too far out, then maybe you can go there to durianbb park. But if you can get a ride from grab etc, then you can go to ss2 pj (petaling jaya) which is only about 15km from KL city centre. That's a very popular centre for durian lovers among the city folks, numerous durian stalls - one of the pioneer stalls there, durianman, even have all you can eat durian buffet with varying prices depending on the type of durians, from rm40, to rm100 for musang king. You can check out durianman on their fb. Also outside of kl city centre but much nearer, at less than 10km away, are the numerous small stalls lining up in front of the shophouse blocks in taman sri rampai where domino's pizza is also situated, not far after the giant hypermarket setapak. There's also a small stall selling very nice cendol pulut durian, which you must also savor! Oh btw they say this season will be over end of july, so hurry there😊 and just enjoy every delicious bite!

To reduce our body heat from durian, pour water into the pod and drink from it. Also, eat mangosteen or drink coconut water... that's what the elder folk used to tell us when we were young.
To reduce the odour from our car, put the stem inside or bunches of cut up pandan leaves.
Durian can be mixed with white rice or steamed white pulut or glutinous rice, bit of hot water or coconut milk. Just try it.

All these foreigners comming here taking all our good durians. Jk glad you love it. Idk why people always say it tastes like onion. I guess growing up eating durian we dont need to compare durian smell and taste to other things like people who never had durians. To us they just smell and taste like durian. The most expansive kinds are musang king, black king and black thorn. The most we have here the most affordable and most eaten here is d24. Its just so good. Any cheaper than d24 will not taste that good. Some even bland.

For a foreigner eating durian, you did it the correct way which is calmly devour it (either you like it or you discard it on first bite). I have seen on youtube Americans cutting the fruit wrongly(not from the bottom) and eating bad exported frozen durians which are probably from Thailand. Why do Malaysian durians taste so good? Because firstly it is the variety and secondly we collected the fruit after it drops onto the nettings(in the farms). In Thailand, they pluck the fruits early to export like many fruit farmers do.

My favourite is green bamboo. A bit more bitter, less sweet and not to dense flesh but not watery either. And not expensive haha. Durian is like wine... more expensive doesn’t mean tastes better. Depends on preference haha

It’s true that the taste of durian can never be described.
No words / description can do it justice.
To those who are unable to appreciate , it’s truly your loss. It’s like being unable to appreciate blue cheese or caviar.
Durian is so good it’s the ONLY food that gives me chills when I eat.

As malaysians, we've been eating durian since we were j our mother's wombs, so it's in our dna. Just the smell brings back memories of sitting with our families and eating durian together at our family's fruit Grove in our village.
