Couldn't have said it better myself, lol. Something I personally don't like about Puyo Puyo Champions Is the character roster. Due to the 24 character limit rule, two of my favorite characters (Klug and Ecolo) aren't in the game, alongside Lemres and Feli who I also really like but don't use as much. Sig *is* my main, yeah, but I also really liked to use Klug and Ecolo and it was a shame to see them get replaced by characters from quest, all due to that dumb 24 character limit.
Character Roster is a bit more on the subjective side so I didn't really mention it, but yeah I'm not a huge fan of the roster either. Most of the quest characters really just fall into the category of "they're there and I don't really care for them at all".
Honestly the most exciting thing abiut this game was that it was made available outside of Japan lol. This easily could have been a Japan exclusive, but they let us mere mortals outside of Japan experience it too
This was the first Puyo game since PPT to get a full translation from SEGA themselves. Kinda made things really exciting from the perspective that they would start pushing Puyo more in the west.
The one good thing about this game is that Sega realized: "oh yeah, people outside of Japan don't have an official way to play Puyo Puyo competitively" and released it in the states instead of keeping it Japan exclusive.
Fever’s cool. I do want to get better at it, though I can rarely get games with other people for it so I just end up playing against the AI a lot in 15th or 20th
Well this game is mid af. Let me explain: So first of all there are only two game modes which makes it boring af after battling like a billion times. Second, There are only 24 characters. I just don’t like that even when it doesn’t have Lemres. But I do kinda like it because it has my favorite character from quest and all but it’s still makes the game mid af. Third, the worst is that they add more problems to the lessons part and make me lose my brain cells and it’s gonna take forever for me to solve all of them correctly to complete the lessons page. I don’t recommend this to people who can get bored easily( even with tetris and Tetris two when you just finish the long goofy ah story mode, all you can do is just play modes and challenges and it gets boring) As said I don’t recommend playing this game for people who can get bored easily..
I'll be honest... the game is okay, just... the roster ruins it. Yes, I'm talking about those random Puyo Quest characters being shoved into the roster for whatever reason... To me, it just removes the flavor for me, especially when replacing better characters like Klug, Lemres, Feli and Ecolo. Plus I never owned Puyo eSports myself either, even as it's mainly focused for competitive players (I'm more of a causal), I just wish they'd focus more on adding the previous characters from past Puyo games prior to PPT1, and just... y'know, stop butchering rosters by shoving those Puyo Quest characters in. To me, they just don't fit in well with the mainline franchise at all. Not only that, the lack of animations in the game also lost its flavor from there also. I just wish they could go back to the 20th Anni. styled animations. I know it's what you call a "minor nitpick" I'm making, but c'mon now, at least understand where I'm coming from on this.
I love Puyo Puyo Champions and there is a reason why!! (Don’t come at me for this) There are characters from Puyo Puyo Quest that made it to the Champions roster. For example, Hed from the Devil Rock series got chosen to be in the roster. And Penglai(My Main) from the Dragonperson Series made it too which makes me happy!! There are many more characters from Quest that made it such as Ciel from the Angel Series, Alex from the Fairy Tale series, Hartmann from the Heavenly Knight Series, and Sultana from the Dijnn Series. This game also has secrets to be other characters such as Paprisu and Rafisol and also Valkryie Arle, which is cool to be honest with ya’ll. But I wish this game had more modes so it wouldn’t make it boring… But overall amazing great game!!! Edit: And the worst thing is probably when they added more puyo puyo problems to solve😢😢

I got it so I could have fever mode on the switch. That doesnt really seem like a selling point tho, as I seem to be the only person who likes fever.
