Welcome to Israelhvac's CZcams Channel. On this channel i bring you along on HVAC Service calls, HVAC Maintenance and pretty much anything else HVAC related. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
Great Clarification! But I think both of you are right. The 19i sends a DC PWM signal (you can see that on the board, plus I've put a scope on that wire before) on the same wire to control the speed. And you are correct, the 15i do send 24VAC to the same wire on the connector so since you said it's the Same ECM motor for both, the motor must be a smart enough to handle both. Brilliant! This is also enlightening for me...never knew that until now...thanks for posting!
One thing about that motor in that model John, if you kill power to the condenser during a cooling call, when you restore power, the motor often won’t restart, prompting many techs to think the motor has failed or think that they’ve somehow torn the motor up. But, if this happens, all you need to do is interrupt and then reapply the 24v demand to the motor to get it to restart. Just unplug the square plug and plug it back up. Basically if line voltage is removed and then restored during a cooling call it often won’t run when restored. Cycle the demand and it should run. That motor is presently unavailable, Trane says they won’t have any until sometime in June. You can replace it with mot18698 but the blade must be replaced also with fan04231. Which is why I came to watch this video today. I was looking for alternatives because it’s backordered at the factory.
I just had one today on a heat pump had a board that gave 26 vac and I watched your first video I was confused but now seeing this video I know I was thinking right about it having a bad fan motor I wasn’t getting dc only ac volts so I second guessed myself. Why they would put a variable speed motor that runs at one speed I have no idea we charge 2300 for ecm and 600 for psc but they both run at one speed lol
Hello, checked my XL16i and found a 1" x 1" black rectifier right near the Ty-Wrap for fan plug connector in line with T-stat wiring. So it might be D.C. start up ?
My 15Xi has that board. I have the items setup for cold weather. Block heater, timer and defrost control board.

good for you, at least you do come back and say, hey I made mistake...got some bad info....
Good info, John
I know, this is not related to the clip. But what brand of hvac, would you prefer?
Great info
And where does the white wire goes to.
The motor is powered by 24v and is rectified in the motor mod to dc voltage is why he said that so in essence he was right
Lot of the ECM motors accept both AC and DC input for the signal.
Keep pumping videos out John why Ralph sits in his out house trying to stir shit up like a 15 year old girl
