I love the place ! In my next life when I will be rich and the pandemic is over, i think I will settle down there for the winter time enjoying the views, the magnificent hotel, the village,, the roman ruins and last but not least the wonderfull italian cuisine. I did not stay at this hotel. But I have been to this beautiful little town! We stayed at Capo Taormina and had the most amazing experience there. It was simply the most beautiful hotel I'd ever stayed in. And I fell in love with Taormina.
Thank you So much for bringing back memories of one of the two best places I’ve ever stayed. Your videos are the best I’ve seen, no useless chatter, beautifully filmed, gentle music, you allow the scenes to be foremost. My experience, we had booked an Airbnb apt in Catania, while the apt was great the host was awful. To have a break from that, we booked a small hotel in Taormina, there decent service awful room. Walking back from the Greek theater I noticed this beautiful building, walked into the lobby and spoke to the kind desk person, telling her ,my story of other lodging. I asked to see a suite (she upgraded us) and was enthralled truly. We left our things in Catania and stayed here for the rest of the week. The service, food, gifts left in our room, the views, the amazing bathroom, light etc were nothing short of -- fill in the blanks wonderful. We then took their complimentary limo to the Catania apt to pack up for our next leg in Sicily. Here’s the best part, re Belmond, the next day I received an email from the CEO of the company, asking for feedback. I specifically named two outstanding people, one the young woman desk clerk. The next day I received an email from her, thanking me profusely for my review, and what it meant to her. That’s Impeccable service. I’ve since stayed at 2 other Belmond’s Macchu Picchu and Charleston, both great properties but not the Timeo. They also bought the famed Copacabana Palace in Rio. Also thank you for the hotels history, I had no idea such luminaries stayed there; but it makes total sense. Love your vids, from a new subscriber.

The Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo is absolutely gorgeous, although I'm not sure about waking up to the view of an active volcano! I guess it's good that Mt Etna is letting off steam :) Prettiest eggs bene ever! The gardens were beautiful, and your suite was sweet! Love the old world charm of Italy and hope to return someday. I will be looking forward to more videos to brighten my days during the winter months.

Hey doc. Missed watching your vlogs. Italy is the only country I visited on the European continent. It was last May. Someone rightly said that I had raised my bar by seeing Italy first. I truly think it is a slice of heaven. I fell in love with the mediterranean vegetation. Imagine having dinner gazing at the active volcano Mount Etna. The view of the Ionian Sea is astounding. I adore the way you film the ambient sounds. In this clip the crunch crunch sound of gravel and the pleasant twitter of birds were so appealing. I am sure to go to Sicily on my next visit to Italy. It is worth going back several times.

Its so hard to believe you dont use a gimble... U have some steady hands. As usual.. amazing video. The daylight shots were amazing. I have never seen such greenery in/aroung a hotel.
I watch Pro Walk Tours which is based primarily in Italy, he walks or bikes around specific cities .
Italy has to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world and you both compliment each other.
I love what you do, but feel masochistic watching because I know I'll never be able to see them other than this way.
It's better than nothing, but sometimes I wonder why I keep visiting, it a siren song:)

Visited this hotel. I think it's probably the nicest in the village. But I also suggest staying down on the ocean and splitting one's stay.

Great video as always. What's your opinion of Belmond in general? We have not visited a Belmond property yet, but the brand is high on our list. Just seems like there's a special vibe about it. They also do amazing marketing videos, but would like to hear it from you.
