I found myself using mirrors more, not reaching for my clutch too much and more lane discipline. My test is *hopefully* 23rd Dec and I know these videos have really helped me.

Stop junctions always require you to actually STOP AT THE LINE. A lot of people stop too far short of the junction in a place where it is impossible to see enough of the main road and then do a peep and creep and continue on the roll out onto the main road. This is a fail, when you think about it if you stopped twenty feet short then emerged on the roll you have not stopped at the junction line. Basically you need to stop in a position where you may see enough down the main road, this might be the second stop you do because you could not see enough at your first stopped location. So peep and creep then when you can see enough STOP again, then look again and move off from there.

    • @keith6400

My car (a Toyota Yaris) actually has a satnav mounted in the centre console, I found it very dstracting at first to look down there to see what 'she' (the sat-nag) was saying. So much so that I mounted a second satnav at the bottom right of the windscreen meaning I can flick my eyes to that instead of turning my head and actually looking into the car

I live in Luton and have the worst driving instructor ever, when she drives me to the location she doesn’t teach me anything and wastes time, then she has a go when I make mistakes. I have very bad driving anxiety and she makes it worse. I’ve changed instructors a lot of times which is why I’m not changing. When I drive I sometimes start slowing down sometimes coz of driving anxiety my instructor said I’m an unpredictable driver and that she doesn’t like unpredictable drivers, I just hate it I’m paying her so much money just to feel down and worthless after each lesson, I failed my test twice I panic way too much , feel like giving up on driving I don’t think it’s for :’( which I could be have an instructor like you

As soon as I’ve finished my turn, I’ll slowly lift the clutch back up and maybe add a few revs if I’m in 2nd gear. I never end up going faster because I’m slowing it down using my brakes anyway. However, I have held the clutch down a few times while in 3rd gear (coming up to a red light and just using clutch and brake to slow down rather than going down in gears) and only once in 4th. It only happened once in 4th because the speed really does get faster, especially if the road is going slightly downhill. You soon learn how important engine braking is when the car jumps from 35mph to 45mph within a second.

This was pretty interesting. The dangerous fault was something I didn't expect like this, but I agree with this as it sounds common for accidents. Most of the test went good for Cris and I'm sure he'll do well. Also, congratulations on 160k subscribers, you're so close to 200k subscribers Pin 😃.

yeah, if you look at dash cam videos on youtube, I think about 50% of the accidents are when people turn left (right hand drive), without giving way to opposite traffic.

      It's basicly running idle.
You just have to make sure the rpm matches when re-engaging.

    Hi!
I’m from Slovenia and we drive on the right side of the road. I had my second lesson yesterday and i’m not sure my driver instructor cares too much about really showing me and teaching me right. I told him i’m sceptical about driving over the line and he ignored me. 😟
On my first driving lesson he already put me on the busy roads in the town and yesterday outside the town with 85km/h.
If i would live in the UK, i would definitely want you to be my driving instructor.😔

Quick question, I’m currently having lessons and I’ve had 4 lesions (8 hours). My instructors car automatically applies the hand break when pushed fully down at traffic so it holds you stationary. This makes it much easier at the car pulls away once you find the biting point however my first car won’t have this function. How can I get used to driving with a normal hand break in a car instead of an automatic one as I believe I will be able to pass with his car however I’ll find it a bit harder when driving in another car with a normal hand break as I’m not used to it.

Ask family or a mate to drive it to a local shopping centre when it's quiet, practice and then drive it home yourself. This is what I did and it worked. Try hill starts too as a different clutch could cause you afew issues at first.
