    Im a Pennsy fan but those B&O steamers had some beautiful, mournful whistles.

    I had no idea they featured the Cincinnati Union Terminal in this production. Look how sharp those P7's look. I must have a copy!

    1:18 that whistle reminds me of the B&O Cincinnatian Streamlined Locomotive which would sound awesome with that train

    Ik that b&o had a policy of saving it 1800's era steam but how many of there larger steam engines were saved

    • @Hendo56
      @Hendo56 Před 6 lety +2

      Very few actually. The two biggest engines that were saved (and that was by accident) are a Q-3 Mikado #4500 and a P-7 Pacific #5300 (shown in this video). No T-3s, Big Sixes or EM-1s were saved, although at the time one EM-1 was supposed to be saved. Due to some slip up, none were saved... I'm sure today's B&O Train Museum would love to have one!

      I wish we could go back in time and buy them.

      They had an EM1 earmarked for preservation but somehow it mistakenly was scrapped while awaiting final disposition. I’m sure we are all very grateful about any of the steam that was saved but we didn’t do a real good job of preserving our history overall. I still find it amazing not one NYC Hudson was preserved considering how famous they were.

      Yes, it was. However, this is a preview of a DVD that we sell. I cut 2 minutes out that were not necessary for a preview. The DVD is available from our web site. -JH
