Not on this list are The War Lover, Soldier in the Rain, Tom Horn, Love With The Proper Stranger, The Hunter, Le Mans, The Reivers, and Nevada Smith. This guy didn't make bad films.
I really liked soldier in the rain with Jackie Gleason. If you get a chance, watch it.
@@patbrennan6572 It is a hidden gem. Glad that you are among those that know about it.
Love With the Proper Stranger is a beautiful film. Le Mans is underrated. I hear Junior Bonner is a good one too.
Faltó Tom horn 1980
One of his best was He’ll is for Heroes
Since Josh randall Steve McQueen is one my favorite actors. Dead too soon A real legend....
Sand Pebbles is my favorite film of his, but his best acting was in Papillon....
My top five.Bullitt, The Magnificent Seven, The Thomas Crown Affair , The Getaway and The Great Escape.
The only one I'll pass on is The Getaway. Not a fan of Ali MacGraw.
Always I remember the great escape I was 12 years old. Never forget that film
One of my favorite actors l loved him in Nevada Smith , The MafitegentSeven, The Great. The King of Cool RIP
I am a fan of great Steve McQueen. RIP. What an Actor he was ...
The Great Escape # 1 , I totally agree
The sand pebbles is his best movie. A movie I can rewatch and see something new every time
The Magnificent Seven was a very radical film for its time. The dialogue was innovative, funny and impressive. It was also the first time he was really noticed in the U.K.
Not only was Steve the king of cool, his acting was at another level, he was a stunt man, a race car driver, a lover of life, a style icon - those crystal blue eyes were as intense as he was. A true legend. My top movie for Steve was Bullitt.
A man’s man. Every guy wants to be him.
"Love With the Proper Stranger", made me want to be Steve McQueen. He was my role model.
For me, it was "The Getaway". Not only for the action but for Ali McGraw.
@@thomasthomas2418 He was kind of abusive towards her in the movie and maybe in real life. The way he slapped her around in the movie was always upsetting to me and hard to watch, and I'm a guy.
My favorite was Bullitt. Best non CGI car chase scene ever.
Lots of car chase are better than Bullitt...
@@Lefab3470 Name one.
@@unclecreepy4324 1971" the burglars" by Henri Verneuil, "Ronin".....
@@Lefab3470 Not bad reminds me of the car chase seen in Violent City with Charles Bronson.
@@unclecreepy4324Yes, but about Bullitt don t make me wrong , I really enjoy the movie , one of the best of McQueen. The car chase is nevertheless tremendous, I enjoy the Frisco of '67 , the mood of the movie, and the cars: Mustang, Charger and the lovely yellow Porsche....
He had so many hit movies one after another. The King of Cool has never been replaced. The Camera liked him,and he liked the camera.
And we ladies loved him.
I think that "The Getaway" is McQueen's best movie.
Definitely his best film in the 1970 s
The thought of another woman playing Carol, well best actress for sure.
My favorite, but not the
best"
Not only The Magnificent Seven but also Nevada Smith and Tom Horn were great westerns featuring him.
Love Nevada Smith. Yes, Tom Horn is another good one.
Yep, that’s right.
I was surprised Tom Horn wasn’t on this list… or Nevada Smith.
They’re certainly in my dvd collection.
.....I agree!!....
The first two are a bit light weight , they are very intertaining but still light weight Tom Horn is dark, heavy and I think reflects McQueen's real self at this time of his life and work.
One thing that I noticed (which was brought to my attention by a young cinema buff), is that Steve never wears a belt in any of his films.
I really liked his performance in "Bullitt."
He was at his most serious as Frank Bullitt. Only twice did Frank let the veil drop, when the nurse brought him a sandwich and when he met his girlfriend at her job and tried to help her with figures from a book. Frank Bullitt is probably the best fictional cop on film, next to Popeye Doyle and Harry Callahan.
He was and is still The Man
So many great movies. This should have been the top 15. I put Bullitt first with The Great Escape second. It’s just a matter of personal taste. Sand Pebbles was also excellent but who wants to see the hero die?
Third one being The Magnificent Seven.
The greatest thing about Steve McQueen is that he trusted Jesus as his Savior when he was going thru cancer.
Yes but what is really cool is he accepted Jesus before he knew he had cancer which makes it even better
癌でなくなったんですか?知りませんでした。味がある俳優でしたね。いたずら小僧みたいな。
With a troubled private life and a great passion for motor racing Steve McQueen(RIP) still managed to dilver over dozens of brilliant performance's in just 30 odd films which proves that King of Cool was a true professional,After the success of "Towering Inferno"Death is inevitable but at the peak of his career McQueen left the silver screen for 4/5 years which to me was very sad,An oscar and what else McQueen would have achieved in those missing Years is something we will never know..King of Cool a true Legend.
I. liked him best in "Never So Few" with Frank Sinatra and Gina Lollabrigida. He stole the lead right out from under Sinatra. Great film.
I love Junior Bonner and Tom Horn. Very underrated but awesome movies.
I think Mc Queen's greatest acting was on Papillon just in front of The sand pebbles
The Sand Pebbles is by far McQueen's best movie and one of the best adventure films of all time.
It's absolutely McQueen's best film. He had to play a "China Sailor" from the 1920's, which he did perfectly. In the Great Escape, they let him wear the same clothes that he rode dirt bikes in on the weekend. Cool, movie, but The Sand Pebbles is his best, IMO!
Totally agree. I got to see it on the big screen during a Robert Wise retrospective. Great movie and McQueen's best performance.
A Wise comment.
@Bob McRae True, but the secret star of The San Pablo was Dick Crenna, who should have won an Oscar.
quite right. It is a magnificent film.
The Getaway, Cincinnati Kid,Bullit.
Steve McQueen'The King of Cool Legend
My favorite is The Getaway. 2nd is The Thomas Crown Affair.
I think Bullitt and the magnificent seven should've been #1 and 2
"Hell is for Heroes"should also have been included for his acting skills.
I forgot about that one. Thanks for reminding me.
I agree
Not too many know about that film. His acting was superb. Should have had more recognition for much of his work.
'Nevada Smith' was also a very good revenge movie (It was based on a character in 'The Carpetbaggers')
BULLIT #ONE… shared with his immensely popular co star THE MUSTANG ! Still never tire of watching that car chase!
Those stone cold killers were intimidating.
Great great actor ! 👍👍👍
junior bonner - one of the best neo westerns/rodeo movies ever. a true american movie made by sam peckinpah. great heartbreaking movie about the last run of a rodeo rider.
Awe,..I love Junior Bonner!
The Getaway is the Texas of my youth, the only flaw is Steve drinks a Coke in a bottle, a real Texan would be drinking a DP, but other than that, it is a trip down nostalgia lane every time.
The scene in where he shot his best friend to prevent his suffering any more torture in wrenched my gut out.
Diese TOP 10 von Steve McQueen wird aber ganz schön schnell durchgezogen. Ist aber doch sehr informativ, RIP Steve Mc Queen ... See you in heaven !!! 😢😢😢❤😊😊😊
Been a fan since

7. The getaway
8. The Thomas crown affair
9. Towering inferno
#10. "Hell is for Heroes"
My favorites are:
1.- Bullit
2.- The Thomas Crown affair
3.- The Getaway
No way …#1 Magnificent 7, #2 Bullet, #3 the Getaway, #4 The Thomas Crown affair, #5 pappilion, #6 Nevada Smith, #7 the Sand Pebbles, #8 Soldier in the Rain, #9 The Hunter #10 the great escape !
Had he lived long enough he would have eventually won an Oscar. I was and still am a McQueen fan. With one exception, I have all of the movies listed in this list. In my opinion, "The Sand Pebbles" is a grossly under appreciated movie by most people and one of many exceptionally acted in movies by Steve McQueen. I think his demeaner worked against him in the Hollywood community for Oscar recognition.
He was terrific. You're right about The Sand Pebbles. My favourite is Bullitt. That car chase was epic with those carburated engines growling.
He should have one one from several of his films, Papilon was his best role.
They finally recognized John Wayne, so undoubtedly, they would have come around to give McQueen his due as well.
@@thomast8539 John Wayne was a great actor; as Jim Garner observed, "Steve wasn't an actor." However, Cruel was very good in The San Pablo.
San Pebbles could easily be his Number One Movie. It was also exceptionally written.
Steve McQueen is my favorite actor of all time the academy award people did not give him the deserved recondition that he deserved his personality stoped the academy people from liking him he was such a great actor definite should of won for the sand pebbles and pappion great in love with a proper stranger baby the rain must fall the great escape nevada smith he was just superb actor and appreciated enough period 6:57
All of your choices are great, but for me The Sand Pebbles should be Number one, The Magnificent Seven Number Two and Cincinnati Kid Three for their World-Wide Phenomenon. I can still remember as a child that I cried when Watching Steve's character Holman die at the end of The Sand Pebbles. He was also great in Junior Bonner (Directed also by Sam Peckinpah) which is the story of the Love and admiration of a son for his father. He was the Coolest Cat in the sixties.
I've always loved all his movies but one/. The Getaway. Not a big fan of Ali MacGraw.
This list has it right with number 1 being The Great Escape. I knew it would that one or Bullitt.
McQueen was also fantastic in the movie, The Reivers, which is another really good movie. Actually, it's a must-see movie.
The Reivers was the first movie I saw at the cinema, a lot of my favourites on the list
I agree, "The Reivers" was an exceptional film that McQueen showed his very real acting skills in.
Papillon is best, Getaway is next.
My favorit actor!
Taken way too soon, this man is a legend.
Cancer, brother. It's a disease that plays no favorites.
不屈の男スティーブ・マックウィーン。悲壮感なきタフガイ、言い訳しない男らしさ、しなやかな身のこなし。実にカッコ良かった。
Don't forget Love With the Proper Stranger and Baby The Rain Must Fall. My favs Thomas Crown Affair, Bullitt and Magnificent Seven. Coolest cop ever.
R.I.P. Steve ⚘️📺❤️⚘️
He deserved an Oscar for Pappion.
Totally agree!!!
Hear-Here!!
1. PAPILLON 🖤 2. THE TOWERING INFERNO 🖤 3. THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN 🖤
You missed one of McQueen's largely over looked movies that is a truly great western Tom Horn.
Yet another flawless list of a Hollywood lead actor
11. Hell is for Heroes, May He R.I.P.
has to be "Great EScape" I'll go no further
The Sand Pebble's / The Great Escape / Hell Is For Hero's / The Magnificent Seven / Tom Horn & Papillon, Were My Favorite's Of His Movie's...
1. Papillon unquestionably (stunning performance). One of the greatest films of all time not just a McQueen film.
2. Thomas Crown Affair (He was never more cool.)
Great Escape was great but he was not featured that much. Not #1. Maybe 7
No LeMans?
Loved Steve McQueen. Over 60 years ago. Psrt of my psst. My favorite movie is The Magnificent Seven. Gave him his statt. Also Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn. Saw at show. Also love soundtrack.
The Sand Peebles is amazing.
Love with the Proper Stranger with Natalie Wood.
Steve McQueen started on TV in Wanted: Dead or Alive. The Sand Pebbles deserves a higher rank as it is his only Academy nomination. And Nevada Smith needs a mention
Remembering Steve McQueen born on March 24, 1930. He was an American actor. His antihero persona, emphasized during the height of the counterculture of the 1960's, made him a top box-office draw for his films of the late 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. He was nicknamed the "King of Cool" and used the alias Harvey Mushman in motor races. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_McQueen
Everyone knows. :}
@@xScooterAZx Now They Do!
@@jeffj9322 Why did you post the same post three times? :}
I had nothing else better to do! 😁@@xScooterAZx
@@jeffj9322 LOL XD
Nevada Smith and The Hunter for The Sand Pebbles and Thomas Crown Affair. The Blob at Number 10 is okay.
"Le Mans": Steve driving a Porsche 917 at 200+ mph.
Nuff said.
Steve was my favorite actor. I miss him in movies any more. The new ones are crap!
I know other's have said it, but to put the Blob in and not Nevada Smith is an insult.
The top 3. "Bullett", "The Cincinnati Kid" and "The Thomas Crown Affair." Steve McQueen's best roles in San Francisco, New Orleans and Boston. (An honorable mention- he was really good in "The Towering Inferno", too, as the no-nonsense, battalion fire chief.)
Soldier in the Rain with Jackie Gleason could have made the list. Just a great movie.
児童期と思春期と青年期ではアメリカナイズされたけど、マックインが
居なければそうならなかった気がする。
アクションスターだったけど、変に背伸びせず(体格を偽る)に
演技した大スターと想ってやまない。
I agree with @Lucky, Nevada Smith was a great movie. Taken from a character in “The Carpetbaggers” written by Harold Robins and played by Alan Ladd in the movie.
Nice selections. But … where is The Hunter ?
"We deal in led friend " killer line!
lead. Bullets had lead in them back then. LED is a new thing.
The King of Cool.
my man McQueen he was also good at comedy love with the proper stranger with Natalie Wood as his co-star very touching picture highly recommend that everyone watch it with the one they love on a Saturday night on the couch eating butter popcorn have your handkerchiefs ready
Punctuation is your friend.
need to add a few numbers to the Top 1x Greatest
In my opinion Papillion is McQueen best performance, followed by Bullitt.
He Should Got the Oscar for Papillion. May He R.I.P.
I have watched Steve my whole life and I have no idea what the Oscar means. In Papillon, he is magnificent. The scenes in solitary are obviously great, but he does great suttle things in that movie. The scene where he and Hoffman are waiting for a soft job after bribing guards, and the one guards family lost all in counterfeit bonds, . Kilo forty...both of them .. what is Kilo Forty??. And Steve leans over. Great .everybody whatcha that scene again
Also he gives my 2 nd fave performance in The Getaway. Understated .intelligent..and so watchable
Yes, I agree with your list and remember watching The Great Escape when it first was released. Thank you so very much.
He was in a lot of ensemble films: Great Escape, Magnificent 7, Towering Inferno. I prefer the others: Thomas Crown, Cincinnati Kid, Bullitt.
Thank You very much ! Steve is a big Legend ! Stay in peace Steve !
Pretty tough job, rating Steve McQueen's top 10 films, but you've done a fine job of it.
Awesome video and I have seen most of Steve McQueen movies. Yes, I agree with you. One of my favorite is Great Escape and the other The Blob!
McQueen ranks in the top 10 in all-time screen presence. However, he never really got very many great roles but what he did with the roles he got was amazing. His presence made many of his films very good but perhaps not a truly great one. His top 10 in no order: The Cincinnati Kid / Love With the Proper Stranger / The Towering Inferno / Bullitt / Soldier in the Rain / The Sand Pebbles / The St. Louis Bank Robbery / Baby the Rain Must Fall / Papillon / An Enemy of the People.
One other point is that the list of films he turned down could’ve made him a bigger star. Among the films he turned down was Apocalypse Now, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, First Blood and Sorcerer
I have never in my life been able to channel surf past Sand Pebbles.
"The Great Escape is perhaps one of the best war epic war films of all time." Sorry, but it's not even close. It's a great flick, but it's not in the same class as Paths of Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Stalag 17, The Longest Day, Enemy at the Gates, Glory, Go Tell the Spartans, etc... My top favorite McQueen movies are Papillon, The Sand Pebbles and The Getaway (not in any particular order). I also liked his last film The Hunter.
Love With The Proper Stranger is my fave! But he’s great in any film❤❤❤
If you haven't seen the movie The Hell With Heroes starring this icon actor then your missing his best acting ever. And that's the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!
All his movies Are great including his tv series
All his movies are fantastic. Loved just jr bonner which wasn't listed but then if you are only listing 10 some have to be left out. He was the greatest
Loved him in the blob, and the great escape
God needs more good people up there I guess. Rest in peace Steve!
Steve le meilleur jamais remplacé
1.The Great Escape
2.Papillon
3.The Magnificent Seven
4.Bullitt
5.The Getaway
6. The Sand Pebbles
7.The Cincinnati Kid
8.The Thomas Crown Affair
9.Tom Horn
10. Love with the Proper Stranger
You have a number of good actors top 10 movies on your channel. Looking forward to seeing top 10 lists for Denzel Washington & Sidney Poitier. Will be watching..
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
He was am exceptional after. Enjoyed his movies.
I agree with others in this comment section. I grew up watching him on wanted Dead or alive. I still watch reruns of that over and over I thought he was awesome. I loved it when he capture someone and he just looked down and say let's go.!. He's just one of those type of people that you could tell he was battling those inner demons but yet he was using them to entertain us all. Seems like nowadays we don't have these iconic people in the movies anymore.
I'll see you now, hear?
