You can take the skin of the tomatoes that you removed and freeze dry them, then blend them very fine to make tomato powder for instant soup or sauce. Hugs and love from Texas!
I do that too but I dehydrate mine and they are perfect for soups and stews

This is first time I have ever made It to your site. I joined you when you were at the conference. I live in TN in the country and used to have a big garden. I am 77 now with lots of arthritis so can't do what I used to. But I enjoy watching others share what they are doing. I have watched Phil and Alex before they even came to TN but really enjoy their vlog and after seeing you at the convention decided to watch you, too. Hope that is ok.

Nice for generational projects. Good memories. Having such variety of tomatoes gives you options. Frozen, canned dehydrated. Each, as you know, has their pros and cons. I always like if the jars break...or power goes out.... I haven't looked lately but I think the general idea is to pressure can tomatoes. However back in the day we water bathed and are alive to tell about it. 😊. I think it has some to do with the acidity of tomatoes... And if other veg or meat is with the tomatoes of course pressure canning is a must. Moving forward you will do what you feel best about. Happy for you you got so much done! 👍💜🤗❤️💚😎🍅🍅🍅
That's how we make our salsa too. We have been making salsa for years from home grown peppers, onions, tomatoes.

Omgoodness what an awful thing poor Drew sure hope David pulls thru. It been crazy two weeks for so many people. My dad had brain surgery I've had breast bx and our work family lost a good person to head on car wreck on way home from work. Must be something in the air. Bless their heart prayers for their whole family. The ICU is awful so hard to see your loved ones there.

It’s called ingredient canning. You do the basic vegetable, fruit, meat, etc. in the jars and then it allows you to use it for many recipes and dinners. That’s mainly what I do. I make some things like beef stew, vegetable soup, and jams and jellies also. I love love canning and preserving my garden produce.👩🌾☀️👍

Such great advice! My daughter loves growing zinnias to have her own cut flowers all summer long in her bathroom. I have personally cut them too soon and stripped them when trying to pull the leaves off. How do you get yours to be so tall? Our zinnias are beautiful, but they are all very low to the ground. We are growing so many different varieties. Love all the advice and encouragement!!
Most of the time, you have to find “cut flower” varieties. Try Jonny’s selected seeds. They have some great cutting varieties
Have you thought of drying them and selling them for crafters??

You mentioned having a refrigerator in the other room that you use for cool storage, how does that work? Does the temperature have to be adjusted so it isn't keeping everything "refrigerator cold"? I don't understand how that would work. I live in Southern California and would love a basement to store canned foods and root crops, but they didn't think we needed basements in this state!! Wrong! So, I need another option and was hoping you could give me some advice on that part. Thank you dear one.

What can you do with Cherry Tomatoes other than just snacking on them or putting in salads?
I love to use them for pizza sauce and pasta sauce. I also pickle them and can them for sauces and salsa during the year.
Sauce, salsa, sundried tomatoes, Tomato powder.
No lemon juice in the tomatoes prior to canning?
You don't need lemon juice when canning tomatoes because tomatoes are already acidic

I think the current standards have changed, because tomatoes have gotten sweeter and less acidic. Everyone is free to do their own research and do what they feel is safe for their own family.
