"whens the last time crystal palace won anything " i nearly spat my coffee out
And Newcastle? 1969 lol
Agree with you@@JoeyLawrence1121
The north west no one has won more than them clubs
😆😆😆
@@JoeyLawrence1121 Abu Dhabi owned you mean?
Went 2 seasons ago as a Liverpool fan. Goosebumps is all I can say. Incredible as the teams come out.
Of course, that was when the Saudi buzz was fresh... go now when they're 10th in the table. It's still a great place to go but it's becoming more commercial every season. Eventually the team needs to be better. It'll only be so great if the team still isn't winning anything or actually competing for the league
Simon goes from ‘there’s no noise there really, it’s a myth’ to being a child saying ‘there is noise, lots of noise all the time, but you don’t win’ - totally ignoring the actual point because he’s wrong 😂
And he has the cheek to say 'but we're not talking about crystal palace' yeah and we're not talking about who's won what, we're talking purely about atmosphere. To quote Simon 'it doesn't suit your argument '
Nah, you've got that wrong. He was referring to the fact that up there, they're noisy about how great an atmosphere at their stadiums is, and it's that that he called out.
You
@@carlrogers1412 the fans should be proud of their atmosphere... St James Park is a cauldron tbf
Shocking atmosphere at SJP unless they are winning. Always has been
As a Newcastle fan, I’ve been to Ellend Road twice and the thing that makes their atmosphere great IMO is that behind the goal they’ve got all the fans that want to stand and sing, it’s basically an away end in the home end. Then they are placed right next to the away fans pitch side. It makes it brilliant. Problem at St James’ is that the fans who want to sing are scattered all over the ground, so it’s difficult to have a dedicated stand that just sings constantly and gets the stadium going. Leeds for me have got it spot on, and that’s why they have the best home atmosphere for me.
Yeah without a singing section or standing section it will be difficult to constantly produce noise for 90 minutes. I do most away days and for me when Palace aren’t having a shite season, Selhurst Park is one of the constantly noisiest grounds in the league, their away fans are good too.
Yup. Leeds is raw and gritty. One of the few intimidating atmospheres left.
"As soon as Simon said that "the atmosphere at the Emirates is significant," I stopped listening! 🤣🤣🤣
As soon as they called Saudi fans Newcastle fans I stopped listening 😂
Whenever i go Emirates on a league their ultras are very loud. Emirates is definitely noisy now

The Geordie tore Simon a new one there 🤣
Spoken like a true Londoner. never been north of the M25 lol. London is an absolute dive to anyone who has been there
100% correct. I've yet to meet a single person who has anything positive to say about London, and that includes my dad, who lived and worked there for 30yrs.
London died years ago and flooded with immigrants etc
London the wealthiest city in the country and top 5 wealthiest in the world is a dive ? the whole of london is a dive ? nonsense, just a jealous northerner
@@usernamehedacoming from a typical southern that’s never been north of Watford gap 😂!!No northerners are jealous of London, have you seen the price of drinks down there 😮😂!!
@usernameheda Oh, I wonder what could possibly be the reasons for everybody hating London?! Let's see... could it be the constant knife crime, the ludicrous cost of living, or the utterly rude and selfish attitude of the inhabitants? I wonder...
Hilarious this, Croydon’s favourite son at it again with his anti NUFC tripe. When the day comes Newcastle do win a trophy it’ll be “yeah you’ve only won 1 trophy in 50+ years”. As Simon himself says you can’t argue with stupid, I think that applies here.
As a Newcastle fan I'll be honest I think our crowd has been a bit flat this season
Its because tourists mate, theres loads of non newcastle fans booking tickets
Only sing when you're winning.
I’m a Newcastle fan and I believe it’s a myth. Too many older aged ST holders (nothing wrong with that) not contributing to the atmosphere. I’ve been to 3 games this season and unless it’s a big game like Dortmund/Milan, we can’t get up for it. Completely a myth. Away fans, best in the land, no question about it
It's definitely dropped off significantly this season
Newcastle has lost their soul that's why
When I first started going to St James Park in the mid seventies, the experience was like nothing you could imagine. You could add thousands onto the official gate in most games. I was in the Gallowgate when Keegan scored v QPR and I've been deaf in my left ear ever since. Then the fences went up and it changed. It changed again when you got the seats. Now, despite the atmosphere being excellent, it is nowhere near the way it was back then.
The loudest noise I ever heard in a 'league' stadium was Newcastle v Boro. Newcastle won 2 -1 with goals from McDonald and Burns after Boro went one up. We had 7,000 in the Gallowgate, all game lads drunk as lords. But I bet you couldn't hear much from us on the half way line. It seemed like everyone in the ground was a lunatic and I mean that kindly. All parts of the ground got behind the team, there were no quiet sections. I agree with you totally mate. Though people even older than myself probably have even more raucous memories.
Simon gets offended and so defensive so dam easily
He can dish it out but can't take it. Look at how pissed off when Eddie Hearne by mistake said he went bankrupt. But Hearne is a casual lol.

😂😂😂 Simon got battered in this one!
1. He didn't like Jim calling him out on his love for London. It's as simple as that. He doesn't like the North. He's from London, his opinion is biased.
2. He can't come up with a reasonable argument so goes with "but you don't win any thing" like a 5 year old on twitter.
3. Then pops "hold on, I haven't finished" like a spoilt brat not getting his way.
Haha no, noone cares about some Saudi clubs fans anyway 😂
Simon’s spot on, they only ‘roar’ when they score you could hear a pin drop during the game
On wor day yi can't get a better atmosphere than the Toon, and putting rivalry aside, Sunlun against us was a belter derby atmosphere anarl.
People ootside the North East divvint get wor rivalry between Sunlun and us unless they sample it.
Totally agree I'm a mackem, can you imagine if we even got a corner what we have been like. We were shite it was embarrassing but our fans were top quality
@@DavyRo Aye, I am one who says I divvint want the derby back in the PL, but I was also on record wishing it in the cups, and yi knaa what, it's a rivalry thing to state the former.
Aal these bigging up their derbies as the best is delusional, some will say I am biased, but I honestly believe wors is the best one gannin.
I was at Selhurst Park, when Crystal Palace drew 3-3 with Liverpool, in the Palace end... What an atmosphere x
Simon says London lifestyle is different and there's more to do there than watch football. Like what? Get mugged at knife point by Abdi from Mogadishu? Or Arabella blocking the road to stop oil? Or Ahmed burning Israeli flags and intimidating people who go to Zara or Starbucks? Or River with the different pronouns? Yeah, no thanks.
😂😂so true.
I think there was a survey a few years back that had Chelsea as the oldest match going home support in the premier league , the younger generation was priced out long ago .

Man city and man united will wipe the floor with all London clubs put together
We leave early due to the train and bus situation, and also because we're used to winning that way
I’m from the north east and have lived in London for over a year and the difference is quite big, we love football in the north east, it’s just another sport down south in fact they spoke about rugby and tennis just as much as football, in the north east it’s football or nowt

@Cedisdead 😂😂😂 jesus you need to get out more, still the same fans and actually a much better positive atmosphere than under Ashley
Exactly. It should be commended
The population of London in 2019 was 8.9million people. The population of the North East isn’t anything like that number.
8.9 million wasn’t born and raised in London apparently it’s about 25% and out of that 25% there’s a lot of different cultures many of which ain’t football people so the amount of people actually born in London who have football as part of their culture is probably the same as most northern cities and that’s spread across 17 professional clubs
How many do you think live in the Tyne & Wear Area ? Saying that it's not just Tyne & Wear it's Northumberland & Durham. You'll be shocked, the population is a lot bigger than people realise
The North East is not the North, it’s a different level in North East vs North (Manchester, Liverpool etc.) and then again vs South.
Yeah, levels behind!
The point about leaving early… every club has home fans that leave early. I used to see home fans at my northern club leaving early to get out of the car park or beat the rush or whatever the hell their reason is.
It's funny how people flip flop on the atmosphere based on results.
After the 0-0 draw between Liverpool and Man Utd last month Neville and Carra said it was the worst Anfield atmosphere he's seen, and people say it's a sign of the times
But no one had any complaints about the atmosphere when Liverpool won 7-0 in the same fixture last season. No one was banging on about a "sign of the times"
Spot on
But Anfield is an awful atmosphere!
I have to agree with Andrew on a lot he said. I’m a Palace fan and couldn’t take anymore of the game against Arsenal, so left at 3-0. I couldn’t believe how many of their fans were leaving. Palace fans would definitely have stayed to clap the team off. As would the Newcastle fans to his point.
The northern teams do have the uniqueness of football being more community based. So I agree with Simon, having 1/2 teams in the city helps massively.
Unfortunately for us, we have London people supporting teams like Liverpool/United. Even City is building momentum. Where I live you’d see people supporting Millwall, Charlton, West Ham, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea. So its too difficult to build the connection with the locals which the northern teams can.
Good debate, but northern atmosphere is better.
If he wants atmosphere if ever he is in cork ireland some night when cork city fc are playing in a league match come to turners cross and he will see what a brilliant atmosphere really is
What is Simon Jordan talking about? Since we signed the excellent Tomiyasu, The Emirates has sadly seen an increase of timid Japanese tourists who contribute absolutely nothing to the atmosphere. The Emirates simply does not compare to St James’ Park or Anfield cos we get all the tourists down here.
The northern rebuttle to mr jordan is... there 9 MILLION people in the capital. Add Manchester, Biirmingham, Wolverhampton, Newcastle,Sunderland, Middlesbrough, sheffield, Liverpool and Bradford. You get half that. HALF. Yet theres 12 clubs there. Then you get the smaller towns. Blackburn and Burnley being the two stand outs. Add wrexham, Stoke, Preston, Hull. Theres more football clubs for the north and more passion for it because it is so much more townand community based. However much the capital wont like it, Football is Northern in spirit and in success. The only reason London (Minus Arsenal) can compete is because it is london.
@@usernameheda that's why it'll never mean the same and London fans will never understand what it truly means
@@grassrootsfootball225 no one is disagreeing, and the south don't care either - the other point you missed.
The north do overrate their supporters though, it's really not that brilliant. They mythologise it like it's a mythical creature but atmospheres can be just as dead at the likes of Anfield and Old Trafford - I've been there and seen it myself.
@@usernameheda anecdotes of underwhelming atmospheres are understandable and inevitable but why is SJ out here bagging on geordies for getting behind their club and then proclaims they haven't won anything in counter point as if that is somehow an insult. I mean how dare they fervently back their team, don't they know thats only for the big clubs who win things.. The man's a moron
@@grassrootsfootball225 because they use it as a means to look down on southern clubs, so of course he’s going to rebute.
They talk as if every other club is lesser than them because of it.
His point was if you think you’re so much better than us how come you haven’t won anything?
A reasonable point by SJ imo.
I'm a Newcastle fan from Newcastle. When is last time Simon has been here? anyways ask Talksport Ally Mcoist who has best atmosphere and he will say Newcastle. I always watch videos/read articles to get other perspectives on who has best atmosphere. Off top of my head recently I've heard Ben Foster & Kevin De Bruyne say Newcastle has best atmosphere. I also saw an video where American Tourist went to St. James Park & Anfield in same week - he described Newcastle as best/loudest he's ever seen & Anfield disappointing and like a library. Also watch a Scottish guy make video on his trip to SJP & he said best he's heard in UK and on par with the Glasgow giants. That said there's been times this season where it's been flat bc of ticket system meaning more tourists and less locals.
The fact is Jordan is a failed carphone warehouse owner the only thing he gets wrong more than football is his hilarious attempts to talk about boxing...he said apparently "someone is going to pull the plug on boxing " a few months ago 😅😅😅
...at least they agreed about ManU fans, smiles at the end!
Well said Simon
Come to Sheffield Simon!
Most home crowds these days aren’t great unless it’s at kick off / when a goal goes in. If you want an atmosphere better off being in the away end
Yeah away days have always been a lot better to do than home
The worse stadium is the Emirates
Spot on Simon as always.
Brentford Bournemouth Luton all have great atmospheres and loud fans for small stadiums
No atmosphere Brentford Bournemouth Luton and half full stadium
How can he say northern teams don’t win anything the two biggest clubs in England are literally northern teams and city win it every year absolute waffle the north have literally dominated the premier league since it was formed and before 😂
Simon, Simon, Simon.... poor argument from you there...

10 clubs in London with a population of nearly 9 million… Newcastle population under 900,000… Sunderland under 400,000… Middlesbrough under 400,000 🤷♂️
Newcastle population is miles below 900,000
@@jackthelad5366It's roughly 300,000. So, it makes his comment even more relevant...but let's not split hairs. It's all for the greater good!
London is an amazing place for 2 days as a tourist and an awesome pub crawl. After that I can't wait to leave😂
Went to watch Arsenal once this season and the atmosphere was terrible. TBH Arsenal fans said after the game it was terrible. Went to watch Newcastle vs Man City a couple of weeks ago and the atmosphere was generally very good from Newcastle and Man City supporters, however I had a few numpties sitting behind me asking me to quiet down (it was the posh seats though). So it’s not perfect anywhere but Newcastle is far ahead of most.
We've adopted a ballot system this season unfortunately and that killed the amazing atmosphere that was there last season. The demand for tickets was that high lots of regular fans were booted out and our group of 'ultras' saw their allocation pretty much cut by over a half. They were primarily responsible for the upturn in the atmosphere.
Nearly all Arsenal fans want a return to the old system. But last season our atmosphere was amazing. Can't think of many groups of supporters that start cheering when their team has just conceded trying to get them back in the game.
Jealousy is a hell of drug!!!!!!
I’m a Newcastle fan and this might sound like a lazy excuse but the amount of tourists I see in the stadium now that I’d never seen before have flattened the atmosphere this season. It’s still a very good atmosphere though
100% this. I'm in the Gallowgate close to strawberry corner and it's still decent but there's tourists everywhere. It can get very flat and a lot of people are getting upset about it in the ground.
Remember the first game back in the prem, was standing around chatting when I heard excuse me your in my seat! Had a season ticket for years never even knew where my seat was lol.
How do you determine there tourists by skin tone?
@@undefeated7314if they’re on their phone or not.
Absolutely right. Locals are getting priced out and it's full of tourists like most big clubs now.
Newcastle fans are topless in freezing weather. That shows passion for sure
You can’t do that. Make that argument into something. Comparing north with south. And arguing with a Newcastle fan, nah man. F that. Daft of TalkSport to let this go on. Really stupid.
Simon Jordan's opening line ''I think the atmosphere at Arsenal is fantastic'' completely overlooking the point being made that Newcastle haven't won anything of any note for 70 years, how would the atmosphere be at Arsenal if that was the case for them? And, I remember watching Arsenal in a CL game, and they were losing at home, and not long after the second half started, the opposition scored and the fans started streaming out, by the end of the game, they were playing in an empty stadium, never ever happened at Newcastle, not even when fighting relegation to division 3 in 92!!!
As a nufc season ticket holder. It has dropped off for whatever reason.
PSG home was the standout one.
So you've had one atmospheric season, then 😂
''My son was born in the north tragically, I'm a southerner but i dont de value other parts of the country'' He gets away with contradictions every single day, He talks so much and so fast he thinks people dont pick up on it, He actually talks so much rubbish.
I was a Newcastle United season ticket holder for a decade (Now I live in a different continent) I don't drink anymore, and I don't really feel comfortable with or have any desire to be shouting and singing. I enjoy hearing the atmosphere but I'm not extroverted in that way to be contributing to it. Maybe that makes me a 'bad fan' or a 'tourist' in some people's eyes but I bet I'm not the only diehard football fan who doesn't want to shout and sing (goalscoring jubilation aside).
Lets be very truthful here there is no atmosphere in any club in the UK maybe Celtic Rangers Newcastle and probably a couple more but not worth mentioning compared to the continent where everywhere is absolutely fantastic and l mean every football club . . the volume flags, pyro, music, anouncer, even the German 3 division kills the top clubs in the premier league, l think the owners could change that over here somewhat but l don't think they care much 🤔
As a Newcastle fan who lives down south I’ve been to more away games down here than I have home games. I thought the atmosphere at Fulham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Reading, Southampton have all been underwhelming.

One of the few times I've seen Simon completely miss the mark.
He focused solely on Newcastle, trying to attribute the atmosphere to Saudi investment, while totally ignoring Sunderland & Boro. Simon is right, there is a cultural difference and southerners are mostly soulless. He’s also right in raising the number of teams a city can sustain. There’s two in Manchester and only one of them can sell a stadium out despite being mostly miserable to watch.
Hes got a point, newcastle fans made the place toxic for bruce an pardew, but now things are rosey in the garden they conveniently forgot that, average fanbase at best.
In the last 31 years Northern clubs have won the PL 23 times. BOOM
Tired of this North vs South. We all know the Midlands is King. Northern teams are great in numbers but poor in noise/singing. Southern teams only get behind their team when they're playing well.

Newcastle are well supported but i've been to SJP before and the 49,000 home fans have been pretty quiet. It's a myth that it's a hostile, noisy place. But their numbers are impressive, no doubt about it.
I think some of our Home atmospheres have been tame this season, too many tourists getting tickets. Simple as that. I'm all for any Newcastle fans getting tickets, no matter what part of the world they come from. However, have the decency to learn the chants, songs, and get behind the lads for the full 90 minutes. Most importantly, don't film and watch the entire match through your phone, that's what annoys me the most.

I was at the cup final (united fan) and talking to alot of you boys were shocked with the change in the fan base.
Our place is shocking for that exact reason. Away fans are amazing though
@oliverbromley8265 Yeah, exactly. Our away fan support is always better, but even still, I've heard there's been changes here and there.
Newcastle came from Champions League to Championship atmosphere in the space of few months.
Our championship atmosphere is still the best in the league so what does that say about the rest of you?
So?? They bottles it in the CL, so what’s the point?
@@pascalthe8th66 I made my point above, nothing to do with champions league, if your confused have someone that’s literate read it to you 👍🏻

How?
You never know how good your Club support is until you plummet down from the PL to league 1 or the Championship. All the glory and fairweather fans disappear and you are left with the real supporters. Newcastle, Leeds,Wolves,Sunderland are examples of Clubs with lots of real fans. Noise isn't everything.
Newcastle’s atmosphere is excellent
Nottingham Forest has a loud atmosphere

Never been to st james park clearly
If Saudi get their way, and they likely will, they’ll be turning St James Park into a hospitality venue/football stadium in the years that come. But not being a southern/London club there’s not the level of tourism to on the one hand make that viable, or have an influx of tourists to make it worthwhile. But it’s said tourists who will in turn dilute the atmosphere as per the couple of London clubs he’s referring to.
