Genetic attraction isn't that easily dismissed when parents fall in love with their child and that child with them after reuniting as adults. Something that has no reason of happening without that factor.
I didn't grow up with my father and certainly wasn't attracted to him but I do know he felt the way my mother felt. Without any positive associations or feelings about it I think that's not a factor science can figure out yet.

See the case of Donald Cline (doctor who used his own sperm to impregnate patients - patients thought they were just getting donor sperm). I didn't claim that they're fringe - I said that they may be fringe. If you want to argue that they're typical of women who have used a sperm donor, you'll need to do more than point to this man an his 1K children.

The one thing you didnt acknowledge is that even people who want intelligence as a factor in their sperm selection still dont want their kid to be unattractive. Nobody wants a funny looking kid! Attractiveness is a positive feature in life no matter what we'd like to believe. Maybe the fact that he has very bland features, aside from the hair, made them believe that more of their own feature would somehow show through better? Regardless, your dry humor got me once again during your remarks about finding it hard a lot! Hahaha! Thank you @Drgrande

Kinda a perfect metaphor. Choosing from what you see on the outside instead of what it's inside is a deep mistake. (hair vs mind)
Anyways it also shows that this way of having children is bad in itself. It's choosing the outside (genetics, body) without caring in the "inside" (a father, a person that will be there to help educate, not just give his DNA sample).
