Yeah it was, those trails are no joke, so fun! Megan had some hard times but had a lot of fun, she really did come home from the trip a new rider, it was cool to see!

That's great to hear! We got her a bit out of the comfort zone but she's glad she did it, it's not always easy getting everyone out on adventures together but really rewarding for all!

Guess the weather's taken a turn for the colder and snowier, so time to catch up on editing and uploading all the vids from the year - good times. Looks like a great trip, major props to y our wife, she is a real trooper and great mother, "taking one for the team" so that they can get to have amazing experiences. The boys definitely have stepped up their game since they got the FSs, Owen's still the "class clown", he's up for anything, bounced right back up from that OTB like nothing, but I bet Dad's heart was in his throat when he saw it initiating. Can't wait to see the rest of the vids from this and other trips from the year.
Oh and the amazing ability to clearly see the effect on the rotation just 10ft on either side was really amazing, bet that blew the boys mind, I know it sure did mine, wouldn't have thought that close you'd see it.
Oh yeah, full snow now, so I'm getting the Ecuador videos out and then we'll be making snow vids! Good insights on the video!! I was also blown away that the water went different directions so close, pretty crazy.

I can relate. Every time I ride with my wife, the rocks stand out as much more intense then I remember them 😅 it’s great when family members are good sports about it.
Haha yeah I try to do my best but I always forget how scary trails can be at different riding levels. It's a tough balance!

Coriolis only works on big fluid systems like the atmosphere or ocean. The trick with the basin of water is all down to how it was filled.
I lived in Ecuador for 6 years I had an amazing experience I love how you guys love it there’s also many other places like Cotopaxi mountain amazing family trip❤💫

Haha seriously, the airline delays looked insane! Out here in Utah we're happy to get all this snow, the skiing and snowboarding has been insane!
@@PorterMTB That same storm was the one that hit me in Eastern Massachusetts with tree breaking wind and warm flooding rain.
Milo should race nica, that would be a really cool experience for him to start racing for a team. And I could see him winning a lot.
He actually did this year, he loved it! Ended up winning a couple races in the 7th grade category! He'll be back next year for sure.

Awesome trip! We have family in Ecuador but we have never mountain biked during a visit. I've checked out quite a few GoPro videos of trails there and they are above our skill level, unfortunately.
For anybody considering a visit there, it's definitely worth it. The mountain bike scene is still nascent. They could definitely use some trail maintenance days from the looks of it! But as more people take up MTB there I'm sure those trails will only get better!
That's so cool you have family there, and glad you enjoyed the vid! There are some easier trails as well, right in Quito there's the Parque Metropolitano, big city park with fun trails that are more XC. I've also heard that Cuenca has great trails. The scene is growing fast, lots of riders and shops!

If you ever get a chance, you should check out Norway. I was in the US Navy and got to visit Trondheim. Although I didn't have my bike with me, what with traveling on a destroyer, I saw some great places to hit the trails. The fjords are spectacular and the weather in mid September is incredible. I think you and your family would love it.
I would love to go back to Norway, part of my family is from there actually, I got to go riding in the Hafjell area about 10 years go, I loved it!

Love owens color of 5c! Buying a new enduro bike soon in the 4000-5000 range. To bad they don’t make a longer travel 5c
Yeah me too! His is actually the 4C, they make it in a size XS which fits him best, the 5C starts at size small. They do have the Mission which is 160 rear 180mm front travel, I think they wil be back in stock next year, really fun bike!

Yeah for sure. Some trails get worked on, but they don't have as much funding for trail work or groups working in it as we do in the US!
It’s a less prosperous country so I’d imagine it’s harder to afford more expensive hobbies like mtb

I tried riding that Teleferiqo trail but it was too sketch and steep for me and hiked back out of it.
It's a good thing you hiked back out, it only gets sketchier the further down you go! It is a fun trail but it's definitely pretty wild at times!

Oh yeah I've ridden lots of ruts in socal, kinda similar actually! Lots of rain in Ecuador though, and less trail maintenance.
