Mountain Biking with a CHAINSAW! Clearing out the WOW trail after a crazy windstorm.

- Tons of trees were blown over in a recent storm, so we rode the WOW trail in Utah with my Stihl chainsaw to cut them out and clear the singletrack!

In Tennessee, I pick up trash thrown on my farm all the time. When we took a trip out west, I not only didn’t see one piece of trash, I ran into a guy on a motorcycle with a chainsaw clearing a public trail for others. Love that mentality!
Not to put people down from the western part of the US but at my local jump spot I’ve probably brought 5 garbage bags in the last half a year and filled all of them with stuff people leave out there

I love seeing you teach your kids to maintain trails! Where I live, there are very few people volunteering to help and most of them are older guys. Great seeing that there will be younger ones to keep it going.

Thanks for your hard work. Your kids are very well mannered, you're raising them well! I rode this trail for the first time a few days ago and love it! It's too bad the fallen trees couldn't be used for optional skinnys/logrides but I understand that's not what WOW is for.

Thanks! We already need more rain, can't believe how dry it's been this year. The trail could use some dirt work in spots, but it's useless without water.

Haha yeah they were, they ended up passing us pretty early on though so they did a lot hiking over trees!

Glad to see your kids riding a hardtail. I think it’s best to grow up on a hardtail until late high school because it makes you a better rider and forces you to pick better lines

Some parts of the trail are pretty beat up with brake check bumps, and I think you’re right, not much we can do till we get more rain. But right now with the colors going off and your work, still I think the best trail we have in the area. I loved all the pine needles on the trail, it felt like some sort of Christmas ride. Pretty cool, man. Showing the kids that their efforts benefit everyone. Some side line jumps would be a fun addition to that trail. :) The same for some features. Something progressive to learn on.

Awesome! I will occasional throw a dewalt recip saw in my trail pack if I think there may be some stuff that needs cutting out, but I have yet to work all the way up to the full chainsaw. Well done!
