A Theory on What Disease Itachi and Kimimaro Had
Vložit

- One of the oldest mysteries in the naruto community are what illnesses did Itachi and Kimimaro have and how did they get them? This is a question that has always mildly interested me, but I’ve finally decided that this was a curiosity that I wanted to finally put to rest. I also wanted to share what I have found with the community as well since I saw a lot of misinformation and or baseless speculations going about. Now of course I have to preface this by saying that I have no medical background whatsoever, but then again neither does Kishimoto. I began to realize that while researching this topic that the diseases these two had showed little symptoms whatsoever, which really makes it hard to pinpoint one exact disease for both of these characters. I think there’s a reason for this, but I won’t reveal it until I finish up trying to diagnose these two. Because of this most of this is actually going to have to be plot analysis and reading between the lines first and then estimations on what diseases they could have had after. I’ll start with Itachi first since that is by far the more interesting one.

I always assumed, based on kabutos comments, that kinimaro was dying of a genetic disease belonging to the kaguya clan; however the bone cancer idea makes much more sense
That could work too
I'm thinking it was a very, very diluted version of what Kaguya's bone projectiles do. More or less Kimimaro keeping it at bay with his replenishing bone spears. Or perhaps, he used up all his cells (can't create something from nothing, we all grow old and wrinkly cuz our body is running empty on cells that can replenish the dead ones) and died from old age. While still looking young.
Or maybe just a genetic mutation that sometimes shoes up in the clan. And because their bodies are so different due to their bones...kabuto would need to know how the clan dealt with such things in
@@humanitysfinest9795 age ing is due to mutations in dna causing a cell to no longer replicate right or to turn in to a different cell like a skin cell turning into a brain cell so it could be the bones replicated so much eventually his real bones forgot wtf they where and just stopped producing red blood cells
But could Hashirama cells do the trick and cure him?
They both died of "character too op" disease.
It’s simple lmao too strong to live throughout the series 😂

Ninja cancer. I know it well.
Itachi had HIV
@@rican_921is this confirmation that Itachi Fucks
Itachi and Kimmimaro had a severe case of 'Chakra Deficiency'. 'Chakra Deficiency' is a very serious illness, that causes ones Base Chakra Pool to decrease over time. As Chakra is Life Force in the Naruto Franchise, they are literally dying. Unfortunately, Sasuke has also developed this illness too. Please, if you donate today your contribution can help save a Main Character today.
Isn't it probably just that their bodies can't handle their chakra? Kimimaru had a derivative of the strongest ninjutsu in Naruto and Itachi could've been the best Uchiha ever.
@@ruppelspoopels Itachi will never be the best Uchiha ever.
Itachi killed 99,7% of all Uchihas during his time, that makes him the best where it matters most ---- SENJU Tobirama, probably.
@@jackson3475 Itachi is trash, and he killed mostly women and children. You do not want this conversation, you are literally bringing up everyone but the actually fighters. Bring up the Uchiha who were main characters in the story and you will see how Itachi is not even the top 3.
@@jackson3475 How is Itachi the best Uchiha? probably the most gifted when it comes to intelligence but other than that no he needed Tobi to slaughter the Uchiha even Itachi himself stated this when he confronted Sasuke before their battle.
Also when Itachi got revived as an Edo tensei zombie and met up with Sasuke to stop Kabuto he admitted his plan was wrong and he should've told Sasuke the truth about what happened to the Uchiha Clan from the beginning, had he done that he might've swayed Fugaku from going through with the clans plan to attack the Leaf.
Given that chakra has an actual, physical circulatory system in universe, I've always assumed that Itachi had something like a lymphatic or venous disorder, but for the chakra network.
If you have a disease that weakens your immune system, getting sick can be deadly. It follows that if a disease weakens the chaka network, using massive amounts of chakra could be similarly deadly.
I always thought Itachi was standing in the rain to hide the fact he is crying
Also rain and cold whether don't actually cause sickness. More people being together in the same proximity during the winter does
@@paul_particularlyunhappynut Yah the cold weakens the immune system making it easier to get sick.

I doubt Itachi would risk infecting Sasuke with AIDs in a fight if he had it.
Well I'd say AIDs is not that big of a deal in the Naruto universe and if it exists there. I'd guess that it's easily cure/treat able so Itachi didn't really cared for Sasuke getting infected. The only reason he died from it is because he wanted to. The illness wouldn't be able to kill him if he wasn't suicidal and hated himself already.
Ah, Advance-the-plot-itis. A well documented ailment.
If Itachi had AIDS, then Sasuke would also have it after transplanting Itachi's eyes.

Medically speaking the symptoms which Itachi displayed its COPD with Chronic Bronchitis.
Chronic bronchitis with obstructive pulmonary disease.
In my personal headcannon, Kabuto is responsible for giving illnesses to both Kimimaru and Itachi. Kabuto wanted to keep Orochimaru from becoming way to powerful so that he could absorb his power.
He was unable to do this with Sasuke, hypothetically, because Orochimaru became suspicious and kept a closer eye on him.
I just like this idea of a genius medical ninja plotting away in the background, bringing down some of the most OP ninja in the series. Then its less of an absurd jump when he gets to the power level he does when he joins Obito for the war.
It may be heart disease. Itachi suffered a great amount of stress dealing with the uchiha and village leaders & ofc all the other events at such a young age not even 18. The mangekyo could’ve made this case worst in some cases with the blindness effect and the high chakra usage as chakra is your life force in Naruto. But what makes me think it’s heart disease is the fact I believe Obito stated Itachi took medicine but it couldn’t be cured. Ultimately though, this is the world of Naruto so it could be something else but that was just a thought.
Itachi’s sickness has been a topic of speculation for over a decade and you finally solved it 😂😂😂
For Kimimaro, I assumed it was because his kekkei genkai is not fully compatible with soft tissue and organs. So reckless use of it would accidentally cause issues for internal organs. Like a wayward bone rubbing against a lung for example.
For Itachi, my interpretation was stress related. Both his immense mental burden as well as frequent use of the Sharingan.
if we go that route it's also extremely likely (when using real world logic) that the got constantly infected when growing the bones back into himself after using them. surgeons work in very sterile environements and this dude stabs people with bones and let's it all back into his body.
@@CRO-Palacinke-D.C Indeed and if it was something he could have contracted instead of something innate, then an interesting what if could have been to see Kabuto back track all of Kimimaro's victims and examine their health background.
I think Itachi was sick well before the rain because of the statement of prolonging his life. It's just that kishimoto didn't show it before hand or most likely just forgot or used it as plot device.
I actually have a vs. battle concept. Here's the skinny:
Have the Hebi Sasuke who was going to fight Itachi like in the original, but instead of Deidara stopping him, replace him with other Akatsuki members (except Itachi for obvious reasons) and see how many Sasuke can defeat
He wouldn't beat any of the others at that stage other then konan. Obviously he'd beat kakuzo, hidan, and sasori but they are all dead already. But yea hebi sauske can't beat kisame or itachi for that matter, itachi was not trying to kill him, it was all to help sauske. He sure as hell can't beat pain either.

What if orochimaru made sasuke immune to the disease. Orochi seems pretty confident on his immortality so I imagine he, with the help of a medical expert kabuto made a cure for it.
@@spit-fire if i remember correctly orochimaru did make sasuke poison resistant so it should be possible that this extends to diseases as well.
You know the reason why Itachi got sick after the Uchiha incident was because all that trauma and stress can actually make your immune system greatly weakened due to your brain and how it sends messages through out your body, it won't happen all the time to everyone however.
Video idea you might like: Artist duo (sassori & diedera) vs each one of the kage with their guards from the summit. The sannin vs duo’s video was cool cause they were all in character teams and so is this. How would each kage squad deal with an ambush from the two artists? Especially once they are in the air.
The cloud has all lighting style users, but can’t fly. The stone has intel on diedera and actually can fly. the sand has good intel and good long range and garra could fly with his sand. the leaf with danzo would be a werid one. The mist also could use deep fog to make a long range battle tough, while with Ao’s byakogon he’d be able to tell where they are through the mist
Isn't it literally named as "chakra disease" in both cases?
Some corruption in the chakra that can occur in people with kekkei genkai that depletes the chakra, and thus life force.
Though for both of them it does seem to work as some type of auto-immune disease.
Or, wait for it, he didn't care about the rain not because of his illness, but because he didn't care about holding up appearances anymore.
I assume both had Tuberculosis. Then I started thinking it may be an std. There's one character both Kimimimaro and Itachi fucked, Orochimaru 😂
LMAO
@@ningenslayer6306 If Sasuke gets sick my theory is confirmed 😤
The medicine gave Itachi TB-like symptoms, but he did NOT have TB as confirmed in the novels

@@jbark678 It's a disease unique to the Naruto verse.
It's the Sasuke Jinraiden Novel where Sasuke travels to a new land to learn about Itachi after hearing the truth from the masked man.
Sasuke learns about Itachis sickness, blindness, the med he was on, and he behaviors etc
It always bothered me that kishimoto took such a weird way out of getting rid of these strong characters by just making them sick when he had plot points already baked into their character that could have killed them off in the same way anyways. Kimimaro could have just overused his curse mark to the point of death and itachi could have just used all of his chakra with the mangekyou against sasuke which as we know when you are totally out of chakra you die. That would have made the curse mark and the mangekyou also have more tangible consequences in the story.
"Itachi could have used all of his chackra with Mangekyo against Sasuke"
But obviously that couldn't be possible. Because if Itachi did that there's no way Sasuke would survive and Itachi doesn't want to kill Sasuke.
Also I kinda like the fact that Itachi didn't die in a battle. It fits his character. A pacifist cursed with insanely deadly powers and responsibilities to kill. Forced to commit extreme acts of hatred while believing in nothing but love. A burning Uchiha by blood but a believer of Senju ideologies by heart. Strength and skills equal to Madara but heart equal to Hashirama. Itachi is someone who spent all his life in dark pit of self contradiction, always loathing himself while having powers compared to the mythical gods. Obviously an enemy could never kill him. Only thing that can beat him is something deep inside of himself. Something that eats him from the inside.
Man Kisame is my favorite character and the biggest badass in the show. But it’s pretty disappointing to hear a shark man had to get out of the rain cuz he was scared to get sick
I wish itachi just genuinely looked at him and said “what the fuck are you even?”
I think he was worried about Itachi, not himself.
When it comes to cancer, my friend’s brother in law was a healthy man, exercised, worked a physically demanding job at a warehouse, he was in the middle of an XBOX live session and started complaining of his neck hurting. They dismissed it.
Couple days later he started having back problems. I think he had a physical sign of an issue on his neck at this point so he went to the hospital. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at this point. Immediately was told it was terminal and he was expected to pass in a month
I need to get checked-
Wtf
Any updates
He literally used 87 years of life force to provide a good life for his girlfriend using tsukuyomi before killing her. That's how it could be something that typically shows up in the elderly or he simply cut his life by 87 years for his girlfriend unknowingly. He probably realized it was doing real damage to himself after a little while of using it. That's my opinion.
Orochimaru always tests on people. He tested on sasuke. So maybe he tested on kimmimaru and something went wrong?
Well that makes more sense then I'm having sickle cell anemia which was one of my first thoughts. One of those blood diseases that can kill you right quick in a hurry if you aren't taking any medicine to suppress it
I always just assumed cancer or something like that cuz they say it's incurable but who knows
My girlfriend and I always just call the disease that Kimimaro, Itachi, and Shin (Sai's brother) had "Ninja AIDs." We don't actually think it functions like AIDs, but it has no explanation other than "This character needs to die but the person they're fighting can't actually kill them."
I should note Shin only dies from it in the anime, but it gives us a reason as to how he died before his fight to the death with Sai, and why Danzo let Sai in the Root. Danzo fully believed Sai killed him because no one knew about Shin's ninja AIDs, until he died during their deathmatch.
Kimimaro had a pseudo bone ash jutsu and nobody can change my mind
I’ve heard the theory that Itachi had something physically wrong with him from the get go. Even as a seemingly healthy child/young teenager he had a very weak chakra pool which is why chakra control and one-shotting people was of much importance. Perhaps something hereditary and possibly due the the Uchiha clan being a little inbred. Similar to hemophilia being a common illness in the British Royal family that they also gave to other European houses through marriages. They’re not Habsburg chin/Pharaohs of Egypt levels of inbred but just enough that recessive illnesses can become prevalent.
basically what I found on Kimimaro is that everyone has different theories: chakra deficiency, tuberculosis, bone cancer, inability to stop splitting cells etc.
nobody talking about my man Hayate
1:05 the best theory by FAR is that both of then have this because of their kege genkai, the Uchihas have their brains and nervous system stress by emotion and Itachi killes everyone of his family, a think this over load him, and for Kimimaru i think the curse mark start his illness, because his kege genkai is so unique his body can´t handle both.
This video made me realise how immature I am.
I always thought kimimaro died to some kind of blood poisoning, he grew out his bones during his fight with the 4th kazekage, and probably got some gold inside his body during the fight, with his clan likely having a special blood type kabuto could not find a way to cure him, and couldn't find a matching blood donor

The plot disease or chronic nerf disease
I disagree about the aids thing you’re overthinking it too much. If that’s the case why doesn’t sasuke have aids? He was literally exposed to itachi blood and he had cuts as well
Orochimaru experimentation made him immune to a plethora of things, maybe AIDS was a part of that too
Your videos are very interesting but it would be a little more livley if you had a little music softly in the background, not everyone can listen to someone speak this long no matter how educational without falling asleep

if I had to bet it was a naruto world specific disease like a chakra disease, makes more sense. maybe he through too many years of over exerting his chakra nodes or something. idk thats just my headcannon though
Chakra is something that isn't natural to humans. Makes sense that too much and potent chakra kills people who aren't direct descendants of aliens.
Well.. Naruto had The chakra virus (チャクラウイルス, chakura uirusu) is a very dangerous and rare virus that affects a person's ability to mould chakra, turning their own chakra into fever. For this reason, shinobi are very afraid of it. So, it is likely that Itachi and Kimimaro also had a version of it.
I always just referred to it as "ninja cancer" and left it at that.
Perhaps kiminaru had a disease that had to do with his bone marrow or the blood cells it produces causing him to not get enough oxygen to live.
Reminds me of drastically changing your diet without consulting a doctor and having consequences for that because you didn’t know how that would work.
"What did Itachi die from? AIDS."

it makes more sense that Itachi,Kinimaro,Hashirama and even the sage of six paths died of an in world disease. a lot of fans speculate it's an chakra disease just like Naruto had it in Sasukes light novel
Didn't Madara beat the 1st to death?
@@ruppelspoopels no,he didn't. Hashirama beat him with a wood clone in the end by taking Madaras back and stabing him with his katana. Weird theory, but give me a shot. In the novel, Shisui had been poisoned as well as in one of the games, and Itachi not only interacts with Shisui but holds on to Shisui's eye. Perhaps he had gotten ill from this instance?
Also, perhaps it's more spiritual because, as we've seen when someone takes on a power that isn't their own. That had led me to believe perhaps that his illness eats away at his energy or that it is the cause of Itachi sealing away the Totska Blade and the OP shield to deal with anything unprecedented.
