+ChriX Builds Coming along OK. Loads of unfinished bits hence no photos on the forum. I believe I'm about 10 months behind the production run so I'm receiving kits in numerical order. This months kit will be No. 10 so am trying to get the horn plates painted in readiness.
Hi Chris, I've watched all your videos, been excellent. I am looking on building an SCC myself so have been sucking up all your tips etc. Apologies if I missed this, I recall you used the BBQ paint on the smoke box etc, baking it in the oven. What type/make is the grey and black paint on the firebox and boiler body in this video. With the heat I assume it will have to be similar to the BBQ paint?
Hi Stewart, thanks for watching and the compliment! The outside of the boiler doesn't get that hot (relatively), as it has the water/steam between it and the fire of course. The black paint you see here is Craftmaster Raddle, brushed on, which seems to be nice and hard wearing. Good luck with yours!
Excellent vidéo!
Happy New Year Chris. Think you've now reached a turning point in that your now starting to bring all the assemblies together. Keep up the good work.
+Jimtheshovel cheers Jim; how's yours coming along?
