I believe this is the best business district in Nigeria. The Nigerians in the Philippines somehow suggest in their "culture shocks in the Philippines" that Nigeria is better. It is the opposite based on many videos of Nigeria like this one. Those, (not all) that act like Nigeria is ahead should look at their country on the ground. Those Nigerians also talked about poverty in the Philippines. They shouldn't. We all know there's 18 million poor Filipinos and there are 88 million Nigerians living in poverty. This is not to put down Nigeria but to call on Nigerians that it's fine to be proud, but no exaggeration is needed because social media shows everything, images and data.

Port Harcourt was planned so but after independence , Nigerians could not maintain it . Now they refer to various Ikwerre villages as Port Harcourt with pure hamlet settings .

Thank you, very good video. I just returned from Abuja and was at ICC and stayed at the Sheraton. As an American, I enjoyed it I felt very safe. He is spot on regarding the Muslim money changers that is their business and they are serious about. Be sure to hire a driver and local to change your US dollar to Naira. The people at the Sheraton were warm and truly amazing, The compound is huge and lots to do onsite…it’s very secure property. Can’t wait to go back. US ladies be mindful of your attire and don’t wear our trendy military camouflage pants or tops…it’s not advised especially if you didn’t serve in the military.

Abuja is a capital city with an expanding population, it should look an function as such. They moved the capital there on purpose but are unable to follow through completely. It's not about 'colonised minds' it';s about the gov doing what they say they will and what funds have been released for. I follow what the gov say they will do and have done for many years but there is a trend of not performing in that. I don't feel they are sincere in actually delivering. I grew up and live in cities where the governments follow through on projects or get the private sector to commit. The gov have just gotten Nigerians groomed to being satisfied with words but no action. Funny that they are right on time with stealing resources released for projects though. Abuja is a balance of metropolis and nature, that was it's USP.

Designs are stuck in the 80's and the gov really need to start approving buildings fit for 2020 and beyond. @@Bigwillz London was built in 50 AD but they have managed to keep the old with the new. I just think Nigerian leaders are not that ambitious for Nigeria and don't really see her true potential. I know I'm complaining but ABJ deserves more.

@up black peoples up Africa Even before Centenary City there is an Abuja master plan which included a Boulevard that is supposed to be in the CBD and would have provided the type of cityscape I am referring to. Looks like they've just abandoned it. Like many other projects. I'm just not giving them excuses any more. Image search Abuja Boulevard, you'll see. Abuja lacks the city feel because they fail to follow through, perpetually. I have been looking at other African cities and it really shows the gov is really doing the absolute bare minimum. It just really annoys me because we have so much potential.

It is not for the government to approve it is for private investors to want to build things. In the case if Nigeria and Abuja as a whole. There is nothing attracting private companies to build modern edifices in Nigeria. This is what needs to be understood

@@newnigeriaupdates1060 So what was the master plan about then? The FG are supposed to build what they said they would and tempt companies to ABJ. Dubai was built in the desert and was engineered to success by it's leadership. The FG has to market Abuja , plus companies don't build office buildings, they lease them.

Unlike Lagos, I love the sanity and good roads, good for those of us in the diaspora but the problem I have is the intolerance Hausa Fulanie with their unwelcoming character. I still prefer Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Benin City where life and prosperity are quarantined.Though Abuja is for people of Middle belt who do not only look like me but practice same religion ,very tolerance people but the fact that the people of core north also live and call it their homes make it a no going area for me
