- Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela is this morning appearing before the parliamentary inquiry into the fitness of her successor, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, to hold office. The committee had initially decided that Madonsela would no longer be required to give oral evidence. Mkhwebane's legal representative Dali Mpofu had threatened to take the committee to court over that decision.

How Mpofu became "the legal eagle" is beyond me. The level of pettiness.
I ask myself the same question every time. I can only reflect that even in life, it is not the brilliant one that gets to the top. To get to the top you have to be ruthless and savage in how you exert your presence. This domain is therefore rarely ever occupied by the eloquent, and humble or meek.

All along I'm trying to find out the reason for Advocate Madonsela to be called to this enquiry. I cannot figure it out. The enquiry into fitness to hold office is against Madam. If she calls any person to come and testify on her behalf, that person must say or give evidence in favour of Madam. I'm lost. I'm lost. I'm really lost.
