புற்றில்வாழ் அரவும் அஞ்சேன் பொய்யர்தம் மெய்யும் அஞ்சேன்

மற்றுமோர் தெய்வந் தன்னை உண்டென நினைந்தெம் பெம்மாற்கு
கற்றிலா தவரைக் கண்டால் அம்மநாம் அஞ்சு மாறே
I am not afraid of the poisonous snake in the cave,
Nor of the false words of the liars.
For I have reached the feet of my Lord,
With matted hair and eyes of knowledge.
If I see those who think there is another god,
I will be afraid of them like death.
வன்புலால் வேலும் அஞ்சேன் வளைக்கையார் கடைக்கண் அஞ்சேன்
