- It's harsh when people say you are more useful dead than alive. At the same time they may not be wrong. Perhaps you ARE more helpful as a ghost who in a way do not require rest or food or any other survival necessities, and oh boy you can play some tricks in that ethereal for as well.

Of course in order to make this video I tweaked the game file, and the haunt frequency will not be as frequent as the video shows (usually, it takes a second or more for you to be able haunt something again). So all in all, being a ghost will encompass lot of tediousness, so unless you have a specific thing you want to accomplish as the dead, just try and stay alive. Oh and also, if you're draining more sanity of your friends than benefiting them, just get yourself revived ASAP

David Lay you probably didn’t know that because most players immediately set off to find a touch stone or other means of resurrection, or so I’ve seen. Also, even if you don’t, it’s not like we try to spend as much time as possible being a ghost, we may spend a couple minutes being a ghost, but we end up going back to alive, and don’t check in every thing that was possible t see if it still is.

You forgot about the most important perk:
Moving your items away from the monsters that killed you so that you can pick them up again after revival
Ohh that's very smart
Once I got killed by a wicker summoned tentacle, revived on a touchstone, but since I forgot to move my stuff, I died yet again.
Also move items fropped in the swap for your friends in a safe way
Also the trees that are "dead" and need to grow back can be chopped and you can cave the seed.
Scout for the moon island.

That is online logic. You could a player that lived for 1000 days and if you die in a server with people you don't know you will probably be regarded as useless.

Pro tip: If you choose wes you can make balloons to pop so you die faster.
If you haunt farms as wickerbottom you will grow crops instead of decreasing fertilization

Often find that I cannot get living log, now I find it will not take long. Find some stones that I will revisit then hop aboard death’s transit. Bunch of trees I shall fined, then I will start the grind. Then once I’m done with grind I shall reclaim character’s mind.

I found a way to make infinte meat with ghosting. Here are the things needed+instructions
1ghost
2or more pigtorches
Steps
Haunt 1 pig till he becomes werepig
Wait for a pig to die
Respawn him by haunting the torch
Repeat.

You can help by haunting eggs from Pengulls. It makes the egg jump away from the Pengulls, then someone can pick them up after that. So free eggs in winter
or just use a walking cane, and if you're lucky; you accomplish the same thing (free eggs)
Once when I reached summer in dst I was completely in prepared and was looking for the antlion but couldn’t find it so I waited out the entire summer as a ghost before reviving

Walter does not drain sanity from Ghosts, Wendy as well.
As a Maxwell main, I wouldn't mind having a ghost helper in my world for these things. The sanity drain of one ghost is still not enough for Maxwell to lose sanity, which is pretty neat.
In DST it's so chill being a ghost when enough co-players are still alive while in DS it's like "shitshitshitshit where's da bloody touch stone nononono i can't be resetting, gahh only 30 seconds ohmagad nowhyisthishappening i was so CLOSE"

And if you have the "Revive at Campfires" mod, you can revive yourself AND fully light a campfire by haunting it.

You can also move items decently fast across the world, including items in water. (Can't cross the water/land boundary though) This is especially useful if you want to reach some items that are relatively near some land, but too far to reach normally. Like convinient driftwood pieces or drops from a mob that died too close to the water boundary, or smth.
The items get flung the farthest I've discovered, when you click on the item as close to the near end of it's clickable surface as possible. You also need to align yourself along the tail end of the vector formed by the position of the item and the direction you want the item to travel in.
Hey, James Bucket! I found a fun little fact with ghosts that caused me some pain during modding: you can shave ghosts. Both ghost Webber and ghost Wilson give their own beard resources once shaved. This is because the beard reset occours only after the character is revived.

So recently I was in a server and haunted a pig for fun, it just so happened we were in winter, and that the pig turned into a Werepig. We were also severely under geared. Safe to say everyone at that base died, though there were like 2 people standing.

this was really funny to watch
The werepig one reminds me of a time i haunted a pig and it transformed into a were-one that attacked my friend. After I revived, he died a bit later and tried haunting the pig king to get back at me. Needless to say, he was disappointed to see him get casually waved off.

You can haunt the hounds the varg creates, If they change, they'll abbandon the varg and Hunt a player, If there's anything in the way, it'll get killed too, and with the new update, the can hunt anyone at the surface, potentially ending everyone's lives and any poor creature on the hounds way
Unrelated to the video. But what if hamlet had different vampire bats that are like the red/blue hounds of dont starve RoG. Examples. White vampire bats. Upon death they completely blind the player for a few seconds and green vampire bats which upon death make the player go in a sneezing fit. Dropping multiple items including what they are currently holding.
I guess you could use your Wes Slave (Glermz Sperms) to haunt flowers for a sanity station

Well, if you find camp of guardian pigs, you may produce endless meat, just transform some of them to werepigs and bring them back to life once killed by other pigs, then your friends may collect the stuff.

I'm not saying its completely worth to be death to take advantage of it, but its pretty useful to know all of these tips, thanks, specially when there are no resources to comeback and you want to kill the time :D , did you know if ghosts players can't prevent mobs to despawn? I use to stay next to the deerclops for example when we lost against him and the winter was about to end so we would have a chance to get his eye on spring, dragonfly and goose despawn flying away and the bearger doesn't despawn anymore, so I think only with the deerclops would work, another use I guess but I don't know if it was patched already
