I'm currently doing this on my 03 focus. On the sway bar. Is it Okay to have tension. To get it lined up. And is the tension okay to keep through driving.
Another great video.
Thanks for making it.
Your videos are great but I have a little advise regarding the size of the tool as the sway bars come with different nut size, a good advise is to check after purchasing the spare sway bar, the size of the nuts, in my case the sway bars come with 17 millimeter nuts both sides while in your case is 18 rear and 15 front
such a easy job and of course mine has to be rusted on and stripped
Looks similar to my Ford Mondeo front end(I believe it's called Fusion in the US).Might do this on my car myself one of these days...Thanks to this video.
. ;-)
I bought some sway bar links and Iâm the back of the sway bar it has like this but or screw whatever you want to call it. What is it for? Should I do anything to it before installing them??
It would be nice to see in the video .What it sounds like before the repair.I do enjoy your videos, telling what tools you need. IS VERY HELPFUL.
why do you cover the can of the oil penetrant ?
Are you not supposed to grease the sway bar end links if they come with grease fittings?
+XboxPlayer12402 You are not suppose to grease the ones shown in the video, because they are already prepacked with grease and are sealed units! 1aauto.com
i havent seen a video on how to replace the sway bar bushings..... when will you do one?
+Juan Hinojosa We currently do not have an auto repair video that covers this particular repair. We will keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com
Juan Hinojosa have you found a video on it yet?
It's been two years and they're still pretending the bar-to-body bushings weren't already shot when they did the end links.
is the driver and passenger side interchangeable or is there a difference?
+CookiesCookiez The parts should be very similar to each other in terms of installation.
It looks like the old one has a grease fitting on the back, but I don't see any on the new one. Do you need to add a grease fitting to it?
Oops, just saw my question answered below...they come pre-packed...
+cwilli1024 Thanks for checking us out. The greased parts we sell are pre-greased and sealed at the factory, and will not include zerk fittings unless specifically stated in the listing. 1aauto.com
The video is for 00-09, is there any difference when it's a 2010?
B.J. Nixon thereâs no difference up until 2011.
â@@bradstepp3278thanks! Gonna do mine today. I appreciate it
Mmm?
something wrong if you have to hammer a wheel to get it off
Aluminum rims wil fuse to the steel of the hub. It happens but if the wheels are rotated frequently enough then it should come off with ease. But like he said at the beginning the lugs were tighter than they should be so someone probably put on with an air gun and they weren't rotated frequently.
Watch the video all the way to the end. He deals with issue of stuck wheels...what causes it and how to prevent it.
I'm guessing you live in the south.
I use antiseize where the hub meets the rim. If you don't it will seize where I live. Bad winters and lots of salt
It's a Focus. You gotta expect weird crap.
