Doug, I would love to see you build a subwoofer orb just to quiet the keyboard enclosure geniuses.
I've always liked the sound of sealed boxes.... I've never used ported boxes because I don't care if I can be heard a block away.
A properly constructed sealed box sounds amazing.

9:35 You could also get a soft modeling clay, cover it in saran wrap or thin plastic, and then tamp the board down onto the clay with a mallet on the back side, and then put a weight on it until the glue fully dries.

I do auto upholstery and I was so jacked up when you made that piece to stamp the logo down. That is an amazing idea. Then you go to put it on and realized you forgot to reverse the image. This is why I love your channel so much. You don't edit out all the mistakes and it makes things so much better. Had me in tears. I have the upmost respect for you. Love all the videos and just want to say thanks for being you!!!!!!😂

I’ve always had ported boxes. Put a Pheonix gold elite 12 in a sealed box in my Prius and I love how the sealed box sounds over a ported box

Best box builder / installer in the world and you build a sealed box for the mule. Disappointed is an understatement. The old box for the mule was a god damn art piece, hands down the best box I've ever seen.

Very Nice box
There’s always going to be 2 sides when it comes to sealed and ported enclosures. In my opinion and experience if you’re going for sound quality then sealed is going to be a better option. Sealed enclosures have always needed to be bigger and require more power.
Besides he’s building a car stereo not a movie theater. Besides have you actually ever see the size of the subwoofer enclosures in a real theater? They are massive! I’ve also seen really high end movie theaters with box sealed and ported subwoofer enclosures, to give both the deep and the tight bass sound reproduction.
What I find humorous is with the advent of google, CZcams and WinISD everyone seems to think they are audio professionals. There’s building a box and then there’s building a box that works best for sound reproduction in the space you have planned for it to be installed in.

Sealed is better for sound quality. Which im totally for. My first car, 1993 honda del sol. Sealed. Loved it. You could hear me coming blocks away. Kicker 12! Then later in life in my STI, I tried ported, sounded like ass. Port noise and mechanical wooder noise was distracting. Sure you got deeper bass, but i guess the downsides for me is too much. Tried a t-line box, again deep bass but woofer mechanical noise and port noise was too distracting. If i ever heal from my spinal cord injury or medical field stops being greedy, i would go back to sealed in my last car i own (2015 mirage).
I can’t even explain how funny it was when you realized the logo had to be reversed to fit into the box hahaha. I somehow realized it myself while you were making the first one and was waiting for that moment of realization. Also would love to see Rafa in a video again!

Dang man, I love watching you carpet your boxes, it's hella good! Every time I've tried doing that overlap, the carpet ends up changing shape on me when I lift it again and nothing fits right.

Ive never had good luck with that mesh backed vinyl or leather, it always wants to return to it's original state, no matter the glue or dry time.

picked up one of those nvx vcw104 same day as the last video came out.. it's quite a beefy little piece. Gonna do a ported build for mine tho.
You wanna 45 the corners of the logo and make them slightly larger and use heat to help it hold in place..
You could also press the logo until it dries under pressure.
