    Their best albums are Amorica and The Southern Harmony & Musical Companion without a doubt. So much range and so much talent packed into those two albums.

    As much as I love the guitar solos on this track it’s Eddie Harsch’s piano licks that always give me the chills.

    • @willswolfe3412
      @willswolfe3412 Před 2 lety

      Eddie Harsch brought this band to a new level. They wouldn’t have ascended to that level and achieved their sound without him.

      Marc, too. The transition from Ed with the Fender Rhodes over to Marc. They're kinda what allowed the band to write a song like this. No Ed, no Marc....No Black Crowes.

      Their first album was great. It got their foot in the door. It established the foundation. But shmc, amorica and three 🐍 and 1 charm (the next 3 albums) are all masterpieces in their own way. Shmc was basically entirely rewritten over a weekend before hitting the studio on monday. My fav album of the 90s. Amorica got a bunch of bad publicity and got pulled from store shelves because there was pubic hair visible sticking out of a bikini. It never got a fair chance by the masses, but absolutely a beautiful growth from album 2 to 3. 3 🐍 is perhaps their most creative and crafted album. Amazing. These first 4 albums i would put up against ANY bands 4 albums. Lions and by your side were both great, but you could sense the creative differences and production decisions. By your side was their attempt to make a radio friendly record. Its a banger, but its not exactly what people had fallen in love with. After a lengthy hiatus they came out with warpaint. Absolutely smoking album! Then to cap it off they recorded a two disc album over 5 nights at levon helms barn in front of a small audience. Its not a live album . Its a studio album and it branched out in ways that were controversial, but mindblowing. Finally, before the very lengthy hiatus that just ended in past 2 years, they made an accoustic album of a huge chunk of their songs and in many cases re-arranged them to be perfect acoustic songs with additional musicians and extended jams on many. Its a treasure! Also, two sessions that got scrapped, tall and band, (which included many songs which eventually turned up on amorica with changes) was released called lost crowes and had at least a half dozen bangers that had never been released previously. Also two live albums. God i hope those two georgia boys hold it together and get back in the studio. Theyve been the soundtrack of my life since they came out while i was in 7th grade.

    Watched this again lol. I believe the guitar sound you’re hearing is from a “Steel Guitar”. Which is essentially a regular guitar OR a “Lap Guitar” played with a steel bar of some sort used as a slide on the strings.

    Thank you so much again! I wish I could like this over and over lol! I’m happy that you seemed to be really digging their stuff. Not one of their albums sounds like the previous! Really dug your Sometimes Salvation reaction too! I didn’t send that one because I could literally send you pretty much everything of theirs all day but I don’t want to blow up your requests. I thought sending you four of them was too much, at least at one time lol. I will send more for sure. Even stuff from other bands, The Crowes aren’t the only band I dig lol.

  • @benmurphy7654
    @benmurphy7654 Před 2 lety

    That wasn't actually steel guitar like someone said before. That is a dobro. A dorbro can be made of metal or just have a metal cone on a wood body. They are meant for playing on with a slide like a steel guitar and that is where the other person got messed up.
