Well said, George!
👍🤗💜
Perfectly said!!😎😎
I too love the effort Canada makes with their recycling efforts. I went to a store yesterday where you bring your own containers and can refill them with shampoo, dish soap, face cream, laundry detergent etc.... Very cool! 🤗💜
I went to Sturgis in 1997 with 3 brothers and a friend. None of us on Harleys. As we were leaving, we all gaased up standing under the eave of the gas station in the rain. None of us were too excited to get going, so I looked at them all and said "see that motel? let's get a room and a hot shower." The next day it didn't rain and I got back to my house in Minneapolis at about 01:30 AM. I sold my last bike in 2019. I am now considering a Spyder. Thanks for your videos.
John and Miriam, BRAVO for showing and talking about all is not glamorous on several days touring. There really is no way to describe what a full day of rain riding feels like on a bike, I have not so far found in my rain gear one that eventually does not leak somewhere. You maybe unknowingly gave a great tip to other riders? "Take the scenic routes" as traveling on the main highways in the rain offers a whole other problem .......... Eighteen Wheelers .... You know what I mean! At any rate glad to see you made it safely to your destination and rested up for your next segment. Stay Safe, Stay Well, & Keep 3 Wheels Down.
John and Miriam, thank you for another great video of your Spyder journey into Canada. Ryding in the rain is no fun , been there done that on our trip to Hot Springs Arkansas in 2021 for the Spyder Rally. Miriam I have to agree ryding with wet socks on is no fun. Could not wait to get there and get on some dry socks.
John, you do such a great job of scheduling the routes for your trips I wish I had your skills. The scenery is so beautiful on the trips. I enjoy ryding the back roads around here try to stay off the interstate when possible.
Ryde safe and God Bless
Artie and Tracy
Great video, we live in north west New Hampshire and with very little exaggeration for the past 2 months it has rained at least some every day. If we get 24 hours of no rain, it is amazing
Me thinks the Mission Commander may have some better opinions than the Pilot. Great video. Spent ten years in the Caribbean eating warm water lobster, no claws.
See you next week and give you our rain story. Know just how you felt. Lobster rolls in Maine can’t be beat. We flew there once just to eat lobster rolls hand explore Portland. Yum yum. Looking forward to our meetup. Be safe. Ray & Linda.
Great video…I am Canadian. I’ve been following your channel for past year or so. Pro tip on the rain . If you have a hood…such as on the Spyder rain suits, it is designed to put on before your helmet and will completely stop the wetness from coming in your helmet. It works…I spent 6 days riding from Nova Scotia Canada June 17th this year . We had 1.5 days of Sun …rest was rain, rain and more rain . Love your content. Keep it coming
Believe it or not, I had my hood on under my helmet. Still got drenched. Thanks for watching!
That is neat! We had our first lobstah rolls this year too! 😋😋😋
Habit forming!! I’m just afraid to have one this far south…am afraid we will be disappointed.
The first town in Maine you commented on and called it Moose River is actually called Jackman. I try to ride my snowmobile to that town every year. Great little town. I live about a half hour north of Damariscotta.
What a beautiful place to live!
Great video. I haven't got any rain gear yet. Were going to Spyder's in the Ozarks in September so I might need to buy some. I really thought Miriam was going to give you the last bite of that bread pudding. 🙂
Well, it sure sounds like you had a tough day in the rain...😥 Waterproof boots have made a difference for me for comfort. Sometimes I even wear my gators, which fit over my boots and they keep the water from going into the boots. My boot straps also help with that ... When your feet are soaked, it's certainly not fun! 😢
There’s a great video topic for you…dressing for the rain. I put too much faith in my “waterproof” boots. I think the manufacturer meant “waterproof in a light shower of less than 20 minutes”.
@@miriambryant1896 😂😂😂 well, my rain pants are like your boots.... They hold out, they hold out, they hold out and then all the sudden they let loose and it feels like you are sitting in a pile of pee LOL 😂... shopping for gortex pants this winter!!
So the rain in Maine does fall mainly on YOU! LOL Glad you guys made it thru it and thanks for the truthful recap on the adventure. Miriam, Bluberry cobbler would have been my choice too, as I am not a fan of that Maine staple woopie pies. See you all next week!
Looking forward to it! ❤
Great video again and yes you did not entered in USA by the most beautiful location! Stay safe and thanks
We just returned from our first Spyder rally. Called Ryde the Rock o Vancouver Island. We rolled through the Rocky Mountains yesterday in the pouring rain. Taking a break to warm up we determined we both are drenched through our rain gear. We understand how you felt.
That must have been a great rally!
We also had rain while in Maine last year. While I stead mostly dry Terry was so wet that it was like she didn't even had rain gear on. Never had that problem before. Anyway we got through it.
Looking forward to comparing notes next week!
Well... Your experiences sure make for a good story 😅 When I get home and put out some of the Alaskan and Canadian riding videos, I will be sharing some tears and frustrations with the roads and construction and dust and mud and oil and rocks. You guys are both stronger and came out on top of all that! 🤗💜🙌👍🙏
We are anxious to hear your stories. Truly we have so much admiration for the ambitious trip you tackled.
@@miriambryant1896 thank you! 🤗💜🙏
This is why I love your channel! Getting to share in your asphalt odyssey has taught me so much about traveling on a Spyder; the beautiful, the good, the not so easy, the unexpected and the unglamorous and frankly unpleasant moments. But, through it all, it is so worth it!! The discoveries (see what I did here John😉), the experiences and the people you meet, and also the conversations around the Spyder, are what it's all about and what truly matters in the end. Fun fact for Miriam; in Québec, we call the lobster roll une guédille au homard (pronounced gay-dzee) and it's just as delicious as a lobstah roll! (Lisa believes New Brunswick lobster is better than Quebec homard😉) Cheers to tasty different opinions!
It would be fun to build a trip around tasting the different varieties of homard!! Thank you, Richard, for always being such a great encourager! Cheers to you and Lisa!
🤗💜👍
Wolf Creek Pass Weather Procedure 😅😅😅
You video guys glad you enjoyed your lobster rolls I live in New Brunswick so we can get lobsters almost anytime but give me a lobster roll away over a hole lobster maybe I am to lazy to clean it just saying. Thanks for sharing your trip and it’s not fun to have to sit in the rain all day been there and done that. Take care guys have a great weekend see you in the next video enjoy your channel
That's awesome, Tom!!
Ugh! I can deal with rain but I absolutely can't stand having wet feet! Off to the internet to get me some rain booties. BTW it rains a lot in Florida.😂 So wishing we could have joined you at the Peaks of Otter this weekend.
We will miss you, Dan. Thinking about attending the spyder rally in the Ozarks in 2024. May be riding into Florida in June 2024. Our paths will cross again!
@miriambryant1896 well if your travels to Florida put you near Daytona Beach there is a guest room waiting. Oh, and the shower is inside the house. 🤣
When the rain comes they run and hide their heads. [insert Beatles song]
I’m somewhat disappointed as we didn’t get any shower shots of Meriam?
Was that a European or African swallow?
Thx for sharing
Regarding the water going back towards the dash, it’s more noticeable with a taller windshield- I had an F4 Custom windshield on my STS and you could tell there was a real vacuum behind that screen.
How many miles on the RT? Livin the good life. Still thinking RV? I mean you have so much fun on the RT.
We live in Moose Creek Canada so I guess we feed into Moose River Maine🤡🤡 Another great video, thanks😎😎
John, I took 4 years of High School French. When pronouncing "Quebec" I believe the "Q" is pronounced as a "K". Just wanted you to know. Happy riding.
I have been trying to drive home that point all summer! Sigh*
Not sure where you both are in your travels back.
If you go through Rhode Island stop at Iggy’s in Warwick.
Try the qouhogs
We’re home sadly…but lots to explore in New England that we missed this time! Thanks for the suggestion
Thank you for all your videos and the hard work you’ve put in to making them informative and educational.
One burning question I have is what are the cameras that you and your bride have on the sides of your helmets?
Thank you in advance.
Bill Galardi
we use the Sena Prisim Tube, its been discontinued . If you check you may be able to find one on Amazon
Miriam, I actually think you are brave to try oysters anywhere 😅😂
We like to visit a vineyard in the eastern shore that offers an oyster “flight” paired with their wines during the winter months. They taught me that the oysters taste different based on which side of the shore they are harvested from. Plus, you’d be amazed what a difference a nice vinaigrette makes!
@@miriambryant1896 well... Who am I to talk? I actually have a certificate from Dawson City in the Yukon that says I drank the sourtoe cocktail 🍸 😂
Oh my!
A day of riding in the rain is always miserable. If you are not on a schedule just take the day off.
You didn't comment on what you thought of the Lobster Roll.... how was it??? Ok now I'm hungry!!!
Absolutely delicious! Well worth the travel.
I'm curious John, what type of seat do you have? We have a 2022 RTL. We cannot ride more than an hour before we get so sore. This is our fourth motorcycle, we've tried seat cushions. We were really hoping this is the one! So how do you do it...long rides like that, on your bottoms and hips without pain?
Thanks, kathy
It’s the one that came with the spyder…nothing special. John does use a small cushion for lumbar support. Sorry that we don’t have a solution for you although taking a break every hour to 90 minutes is probably a good idea for many reasons.
Interestingly, another viewer told me that there is a difference between the seat in the sea to sky model versus the rt limited. You might want to talk to your dealer to see if a different model might work better for you.
What kind of swallow? 😂
African!
African or European swallow?😅
African!
