  • Hey guys!
I wanted to catch up with everyone who has been watching my videos. I have not been uploading because "reasons" but also because life has been hectic. I am still on Lamictal and wanted to give another update on my use of the medication.
Thank you so much for anyone who watches, you have no idea how much it means to me!! Like I say in my video, check-in in the comments below on YOUR mental health. I want to know how your're feeling.
Feel free to comment, like and/or subscribe.
    See you soon.

Hi Zoe, I can relate to the feeling about not wanting to take medications because you don't want to put your control in the hands of a medication. I had a nurse practitioner tell me something that helped me with this thought. They said not to think of medications as a crutch but more of a tool to get us where we want to be. For example, if we want to travel somewhere that is 15 miles away, we have options to get there. We could walk, but that would take a really long time and probably make us tired when we get there, or we could take a car and we would get there in a fraction of the time. Medications are like the car, we don't have to use them but they sure make the journey a hell of a lot easier.
Thank you for posting! I just started back on Lamictal this week along with Effexor 75mg and Seroquel 50mg. From when I remember taking Lamictal in the past, as the Lamictal went up I didnt have to take Seroquel anymore.

Hi William! Thank you so much for your response and your view. This channel is my baby and any positive response I get is very helpful and inspiring.
That is an interesting way to look at medications. I don’t think I’ve been experiencing the benefits of the lamictal any longer and that scares me. I don’t want to be on a high dosage of a medication but it is something to decide and think about. I also take Klonopin, which is a controversial anxiety medication and I am dependent on it and have been for the last 10 years of my life. It is a rough thing to deal with.
Thank you again for your response, and I wish you luck 💜

My daughter has Bipolar 1 mania for three months and she is on antipsychotics and lithium . We asked the psychiatrist to try Keppra for mania and Lamictal for depression . They are both weight neutral and best for cognitive functioning and both can be given to pregnant women. We are having difficulty trying to convince the psychiatrist. He wants her on antipsychotics for two years we are against that ,facing a brick wall .

I don't know if your still on but I listen to you and like you I am bipolar and on 50 mg lamitical and 150 wellbutrin. You mentioned therapists! Omg so true. I find that they are useless. One said go slow with everything. Pet your cat. You and I both know spending time doing anything is impossible. I pet my cat all the time. Also I know how doctor's can be. The last one was chewing and snapping her gum telling me I don't have breast cancer. The pap smear one said she has no reason to check me since I had an abortion . I had one at 17. My mother the father and everyone in between told me too. I am 61 now. Old enough to be your mother but still struggling with bipolar. I am retired. Worked 30 years in jobs behind the scenes to avoid getting too close to people due to my moods. Everytime I was offered a higher position I turned it down.

Hello! I apologize, I am still here. CZcams put me in some kind of jail. I could not view or respond to comments for over 2 months-- it was beyond frustrating because I love making content. You paint such a vivid picture with the doctor snapping her gum that permeates apathy. I hope you have been doing well, much love

This kind of content is needed though. It's real. So don't be down about your videos. Also, I get the anxiety about going on a higher dose. I have that too. But 75, even 100mg isn't a high dose of lamictal. Just decide for yourself the highest mg you're willing to go and communicate that and your fears to your doctor.

Hey there! I say, take it when your ready. It’s always worth a try and you can always STOP taking it if it is causing unwanted side effects. I literally just one day popped it in my mouth and swallowed and dealt with it from there. Sometimes we have to take the jump. Good luck and keep me updated in the comments. Much love 💜

that’s interesting... how so?? I know it’s a common allergy medication. Supposed to be really low impact and help you get off benzos. I took for a few years in my early 20s and had a good experience with it. Lately though, my increased anxiety and OCD has made me fearful of taking things that make me sleepy. But i’m still hoping to take the leap at some point.
